Yeah I have no problem with critisizm. It's when I get people just regurtitating an actual beneficial critisizm. Beleive me I came here for assistance, and I'm very appreciative of the good grits I've gotten. I just think certain individuals need a little more tact in it.

It's called learning, I apologize that my first comic wasnt of 100% proffesional quality. I didn't come out of the womb with a wacom tablet.

I'm just going to reinforce what others are saying, if you can't make digital additions mesh seemlessly with your work don't do it.

Thanks for your input. However I don't plan on abandoning the digital medium any time soon.

No one's saying to abandon it completely. Just do as much as you can without, because here all the digital bells & whistles detracted from what you had going.

This being the first comic I've ever actually completed, there's obvious room for improvement. Next time I'm keeping the pages shorter to increase the quality. As for the word bubbles, It's all about experimentation. Thanks for your input. However I don't plan on abandoning the digital medium any time soon.

Dammit EdVilla! Upload that shit to a beyond battle ASAP!
John: Not bad... although I'm with Kuro here, don't touch digital medium if it's going to look like this, it was very hard to read your text, standard black and white will always be acceptable for word balloons and text, otherwise it'll be an eyesore. You've got a lot of promise here, but avoid taking shortcuts when you can. That's all I can really say. Good luck in the next round.

Sorry for the issues, Ed. But like Angie said & kept saying, there was stuff on the forums explaining what to do. Hope this doesn't put you off the site. Go for the Beyond Battle after this is all over.
John, I think you have some drawing talent but digitally, you murdered all of that with cheesy effects & horrid font selections. When you're applying digital elements to hand drawn pages, it's best to make it subtle as possible. Here it's slapping everyone upside the face & just ugly. When you pick fonts, always let legibility win out. If you're going to use tiny, narrow fonts, make sure you bolster up their size & their kerning so it reads tight & clear. But don't use something like comic sans or handwritten, because aesthetically, they're awful.
Also reusing drawings & shots is also a cop out. This site's for practice. Copying doesn't take practice, your lineart does. And don't be afraid to give us a panel that isn't just a horizontal shot. Certain panel shapes can help establish mood. Wide, horizontal panels are typically calming. It doesn't help establish excitement & intensity as much as taller, thinner panels.
Ultimately, I think I'd rather see you go the traditional route next time & show how much you can do without opening up photoshop. Try handlettering, shading, etc. Then when you do go back digitally, don't overkill it so much.

If you upload or try to upload without checking your work afterwards and don't post that you tried to upload there's unfortunately nothing we can do.

Oh well, this is what I get for being a newb in this page. Better luck for me next time.

Really impressive, John! I love your take on Saltman, you made him fit well! Really creative resolution (tho what about all the people in the city? Are they not effected by the transport?) Nit-picks aside, really enjoyed it! Looking forward to more!
Ed, bummer man! Was looking forward to seeing you in action again!
