Sixtem, mad respect for getting this far AND consistent quality/stories. I was beginning to grow attached to the character.

Hieme the reveals of flashing back to prior rounds with the bad apple tie-in was brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed that compared to some of your past tourney rounds where everything is more autonomous. So many funny jokes also.

Six, liked your story and you did a pretty damn good job of keeping up the action/drama epic. Too bad you ran out of time, your ideas were almost too much to fit into 1 week battles. Kind of story that requires crowd scenes and sprawling city-scapes and shit like that...and those just take forever to draw well.

Fine job in the tourney both of you, It's gotta be tough to keep it up through all these weeks, your efforts are commendable.

This was a fun tourney, and I'm very happy I was able to reach the final round (and get a rematch against Hiemie outstanding from last tourney). Hiemie, your comic was hilarious and, regardless of which way this ends up, I had a blast battling you.

THOUGH I found it amazingly helpful to read everything you've all done to this point and realize that YES i'm not just grading you on this comic but all the battles you've done up to this point.

Six, like everyone here said there was an expectancy for a greater climax in plot. The buildup was just too great here to not realize that somethings felt skimped. Overall I had to look back to this and realized, well the art is good and all the jokes and the inclusions of all the other SDT characters as well but man. MAN you needed to give me a reason any reason[!] to give this to you and I would've done it.  IN the end its good but not as great as it couldve been. No beans though, this was a good fucking show if someone was to combine everything they ever read up to this point.

Heeeeiiiimie this was a good call and a closer to your works so far. A PIG FUCKING WINNING THE SDT !?!?!? HOLY SHIT THIS IS GONNA BE WILD IF IT HAPPENS-

But I digress the only thing stopping you here is that the art only goes so far as to be able to tell a clear story, I still have issues with panel layout and the nagging feeling that some of these frames feel rushed. but Im otherwise digging it on a fundamental level. It matches up with your jokes well, and all the writing is goddamn adorable and clever  to read through.

Gave this to Sam. I thought Hiemie's art quality was slipping from his usual level of work, but Six has only been improving. Hiemie's twist was funny, but in the end I liked Six's more serious story better. I was a little disappointed that Sam's survival of the bomb blast didn't get any more treatment than one character's certainty that she'd "manage somehow," but the image of her walking out of the rubble was badass enough to make up for it.

I don't want either of them to die. :C

This has been the closest battle I've seen all through the SDT.  I would have given the win to Sam, but I felt like the last page was a little anti-climactic.  I enjoyed the references to past battles on both sides, and the quality was amazing!  That whole "I'm a Catholic!" joke was hilarious, too.

As for Hiemie, bringing Bad Apple back wins bonus sentimental points, but what really did it for me was the fact that it wasn't just a clever disguise the whole time, and that Bad Apple STILL lost the tourney even after setting up the whole thing to his advantage.  I felt like the humor throughout the comic was a little less funny than previous comics, but the last few pages made up for it.

I think I rated both of you pretty much the same; what an epic tourney this has been!

I really can't chose between these two, but I can be somewhat nitpicky.



Sixtem: Let's get to the nitty gritty first, your backgrounds are nice and detailed man, but your perspective and anatomy is total weaksauce! Page 4's backgrounds are really nice, but page 5 panel 1, Pig is running down the side of a wall, a worms eye view shot would of probably been better. Also there's a lot of anatomy hiccups here and there, especially when it comes to angled shots. It's tough to get anatomy right, but keep going at it man.

The good thing about this comic is that it's very well written if a bit short, but I think with the week long deadline this is just the right amount of comic to have. Overall your art was much stronger this round along with your story. This comic has got to be one of your best, win or lose, you need to make more comics! Maybe with a longer deadline.




Hiemie: I can just hear you in the chat right now saying "I KNEW YOU'D COMMENT!!" But let's get to the bad first. I'm still not fond of the angles you use for your comics, first page is the best example of this as you really don't have an establishing shot so it's kinda hard to tell that Sam is actually looking for Pig and where she's looking. Also this might be super nit picky of me, but I feel like you could easily cut the number of panels down significantly by just merging a few of them together, with page 5 for example, from panel's 3 to 6 could easily be just one panel if you just bunch up Sam's dialogue and have Bad Apple respond on the last panel. Nothing would be lost either and you'd give yourself some more room for details and whatnot!

The good, I loved the story all around and I liked the use of one of your old characters as a plot device! Your story definitely was one of the most creative stories you've done to date, your quality has not wavered in the least proving how reliable you can be when it comes to deadlines, and like Sixtem's comic, this was entertaining and worth the read!

Hiemie:  Great colors as always, fun plot twist.

Sixtem:  Great paneling and flow,  I must say.  The colors worked well too, though I am honestly a bigger fan of traditional colors (Not that that hurt you any, just saying).  Your expressions are also excellent.  Really good job, kept me interested.
