thanks dave. given corny's age, the dwarf thing was a little intentional though i probably did play it up a little too much. sorry corny haha other places i guess i did play it a little too fast & loose. thanks for pointing it out. glad you enjoyed the rest of it though!
mike, paperwork might have been a good idea but the walls were intentionally left bare to reinforce the monotonous tone i was going for. as a matter of fact, windows were taken out of the original sketch as i figured they would provide too much stimulation to the room, which i viewed as horribly, painstakingly plain. that's why, the people inhabiting & that atmospheric haze were played up much more than the room itself. as for inks, i've got other works down the line that incorporate them more, but for slaughterface comics, i really prefer the more organic sketchiness of a pencil line. it gives it a rustic feel that fits with his backwoods demeanor. thanks though.
fowlie, i tried emailing you those pages again. any luck this time? everyone else, the pages i didn't have when i uploaded will be added as a separate bb once the voting's all done.

Nova, I thought it was good, I don't really have any complaints, I like the short and sweet vignette story.
Kuro, I really wanted to see this inked, I thought the backgrounds could have used more work to feel less generic, especially with the DPRI building which looked a bit vague and the interior scene. If you have a scene of a large primarily empty room, it's up to the background to sell that scene. When I go to the DMV or social security office there are lots of signs telling me how to fill out forms, there's signs telling me what not to do, there are windows on the walls, there aren't just bare walls.

Well my feeling towards Fowlie's comic is that it's a small vignette in comparison to the other stories. Kinda in the same way the comic vs Koshi was. And I have to admit I like it when there are lulls and these sort of episodic stories from time to time that don't always have to have a character revealing moment. Plus Fowlie's color choices here are to be noted, they're pretty good and pleasing to the eye.

Kuro: your comic is hotsexy enough to take home to my momma and tell her Im marrying this bitch. I loved it...and I don't normally love your comics...but I was actually goin all gaga over this shit. Way to set the bar for everyone Void for the year...even though I guess technically it's still 2009...so maybe I take that shit back...anyway excellent line work strong colour, good sense of pace, wide format wins, cameos supreme...did I mention the colour was super dope...Parts I didn't think worked so well. Your anatomy in some panels was..weird...to say the least. Page 2 panel 2 Novas got odd proportion the same for Page 5 all of the panels with corny in the chair she's either got dwarf proportions (giant head tiny body) or you bullocksed up the perspective on the viewer perceiving from above. and being nit picky some of your fills were a bit slippy going outside of the lines and what not (page 6 panel 1 sleeve...word) lettering was decent some of the earlier pages had a bit too tight kerning anywho my vote goes to you on this one...I forgave the minimal use of Slaughterface because he's your character and I think it's much harder to capture the intricacies of another persons creation...mucho kudos
Fowlie - I'm gonna echo what Kozis said. I generally feel entertained by your writing but this one fell short. the joke or interaction or whatever it was felt stale and unimaginative...predictable. Perhaps that was the point nova is a predictable cad...This just seemed like it was missing your predilection for P'ZAZZ!! The colour in this was pretty dope, and your characterizations are always top notch each character feels unique and you can really emote with them considering the elasticity of your expressions. Your sense of design is great not just from panel to panel but each panel feels very...considered...especially the beer pour sequence. Overall I thought the art in this was some of your best but the story wasn't very well executed.
+Kuro...page4 HILARIOUS...wheres dat penis...THERE IT IS!!!

Thanks guys.
While it's not the fully, intended story, I'm glad it didn't disappoint you as much, Fowlie. I was worried! And yes, the continuation will follow suit shortly, once I get back to my place & in the swing of things. Sface dribbling Nova's head off the bar is my new favorite thing with him, just narrowly beating out the crowd chanting his name at rollerball haha
Also, thanks for the thumbs! I'm guessing it was Angie, for the fact that it's usually her & the choice of thumbnail #5.
Will- I KNOW, RIGHT?! Seriously though, it was either her or Idi Amin.
Kozi- The pages I didn't have with me were more of Sface & Nova interacting. For whatever reason (maybe since I make him quiet all the time), the story ideas I end up going with a lot of the time kind of make him a supporting character to who ever I'm battling against. Nova's fun so obviously it happened here too. When I get to post the intended ending (not that there was really all that much left of this story) you'll get to see more Sface.
Kumaru- Thanks very much. Glad you liked pg3, it was a bitch & a half to draw!

I really dug all the cameos and mentions in both comics. whenever battles do that it makes the world of Void seem tangible or connected somehow.
onto critique..
FOWLIE- Wow. I think this is the first time one of Fowlies comics didn't really grab me story-wise. I really don't know what it was because he's such a charmer in a convoluted way with women as well as Dr. Fabulous, but in this comic it seemed forced and not in the usual way we know and love. I did enjoy your environments and backgrounds- especially the panels where Nova is heading into the Crow bar. That change over from establishing shot to door entering was boss.
KURO- Welcome back! nice little comic to make your re-debut. I wish there was more of Slaughterface in it though. Again, another lovely display of backgrounds- your idea of hell made me laugh- not to mention Corny as a minion. Great stuff.

Ahahahaha I am happy, these comics were both very entertaining. And I always knew Corny was a minion of Hell. Something more in depth after I stop laughing.
