to me, the fact that Pong made it sound like he didn't care made it funnier. It was better than forcing it out. I liked it. And dawg, yours was so clever haha I loved the ronin faces and little gags here and there. I know some people didn't like the fact that you had no lines, but I liked what you did there with just solid colors.
I don't have much to say but these were both fun :3

Man. Maybe people should read dawg's first and then mine.
The gay page probably makes more sense that way. jajaja

I love you guys, really (in a totally manly way). See, I can't write comedy, can't write jokes. I guess I'm a totally unfunny guy. ;-P But I do enjoy this humor and it's really my favorite comic of the year.
Pong I loved the Galaxy Express reference and JJ as Maetel seemed so right. I probably said this before though, but I wished to see an expansion of this. The 'gay' joke represents to me that you ran out of time.
Dawg, this comic is also great. Yet it's obviously not a comic for the non-Void initiated. The jokes are awesome and funny because we know what it refers to and what's going on. It's an in-joke comic, which is not a bad thing and awesome in my opinion. Your pothole should definitely become a button. I thought the non-line style was great and it reminded me of Samurai Jack in that way.
Great job. Even though Jho didn't make it, I hope she has something we can see as a BB, however complete or incomplete it may be. <3

wow.
um, I have always hated this type of humor so, it may just be personal preference but these were damn painful to read. I kinda want to see something besides the random "look at me, I'm quirky" stuff that you guys usually make.
Pong- I loved the Galaxy Express reference, the whole "gay" thing just seemed more like you taking random shots and people you didn't like rather than actually trying to be funny, which seems kind of disingenuous. I liked the art though, but it seemed to get a little out of hand on a couple pages
J-Pop- I wished you had used lines, it just seems kind of empty. I couldn't really read it, it just seemed to go randomly on and on. I enjoyed your characterizations, though.

I loved these both. I found Pong's simplistic and rather unique way of looking at it. Rather than just saying they were gay, I think you should've just stated actual GAY shit about them. I dunno, I still liked it though. ADORED the lineart and tones. I'm a sucker for that.
Dawg's had me laughing consistently. JJ's just.. I cried. but that's okay! Good job no matter what!! <3

i dug these both. a lot. and reading pong's first i thought it was going to be hard to top but i laughed consistently throughout dawg's. although i gotta say, i for one don't know if i really dig the lack of outlines. i think it has to do something with where a line will suddenly pick up. take that thumbnail of massive attack for instance. the way the nose slopes into the line? something about that doesn't work for me. perhaps colored lines that would fit more? it's just a nitpick, i know. otherwise it was a lot of fun. then again too, i really liked pong's line work even if it felt a bit rushed in spots. both were solid & i think you should collab on something

I'll post an actual critique when I'm more conscious but to keep this from going much further...
I really think it would be helpful to leave comments that could be helpful to the artists, please try not to let personal bias cloud your judgment. Even if you don't have the best relationship with someone, that's no excuse to not give a real critique. So play nice guys, keep it professional.

Phill, is it really necessary to post on every single comic Pong does with the same negative statements?
I mean, hell, Dawg did the same thing as Pong, and you praised him. You're just picking and choosing who you dislike, and who you like, on a personal level, and letting that flow over into your judgment on their comics.
Anyways, both were good, but I laughed a bit more at Dawg's. I thought your art was nice Pong. Dawg, the best part of this new style is your art feels like less of a cluster fuck without the lines. Take that how you will

Them's some gay-ass comics
But since that was apparently the point, it's APPROVEDED
Pong - I think the different gangs as planets was damn smart, and a lot of the train scenes were cool - like the last page's especially
Dawgmastas - Best part for me was Girl Power (AWWWW poor Fat Katka - I nominate Fat Kat to be her own separate character and star of a million comics - maybe then her lardy tears shall dry)
Good writing from both. Whilst I generally prefer de colors in my comics, Pong very nearly had me sold on zippytones. Almost. Still good though.

It's not so much a critique about humor Pong, it's about your writing. Personally I didn't find your comic funny, mainly because there was no real effort into making fun of anything other than throwing out the word "Gay" at them, and honestly... anybody can do that and you know it. Seriously, what is there to get? You think other groups and gangs are stupid? It's not so much that I didn't get the joke, I see it clearly, it's just that it's not a very good joke.

I'm not entirely sure what to think about either comic
Pong: You know, if you were going to attempt to take the piss out of groups and gangs, I think you'd need more tact than just saying "This is gay, those people are stupid fags, etc...". Doing that just made this comic a chore to read and leaves me to wonder if you are even trying to make an entertaining comic for people to read, and you're instead just falling back on bad old habits of just wanting to cause drama with your comics.
The art was OK really, but I've never been really impressed with your work to be honest.
Dawg: Now, unlike Pong's comic, I think yours is the best example of taking the piss out of groups and gangs without having a bitter overtone to it. The only thing that kinda made this whole thing confusing is the fact that you set up each page like a single story and such (or as you said, individual strips), I guess I'm just too used to regular comic formats and such, but whenever I read your stuff, I can't help but think that I really really want to read more.
Art so far is pretty impressive, but I don't think this is your strongest work to be honest, I kinda miss the slightly sketchy penciled in details you used to put into your older strips as it really gave the characters a lot more depth visually, right now however they just look like paper cut-outs to me. I do however think if you do more with this style it'll turn into something a bit more impressive. Also I'm siding with everybody by saying the roninface Pothole was GENIUS!
Overall pretty good, sorry Jho didn't do anything, Dawg's got my vote hands down.

Pong: Love your shit. Space train intro. Gay planets, and a fun use of tones. This may be, visualy, my favorite comic of yours.
And truely, house of W... no one wants to go there...
Dawg: Hands are for bitches, hooks/forks/kunuckles are where its at. Your pot-hole is terrifying... very.
Jho:
And thats why cockrockers are too good for void.

king-Pong-I liked the black and white and the (I dont know what you call it)dot shading thing. I actual think yours is the better of the two. Because I aint so bright, it took me a second to see this was a throwing down of the guantlet. The inconsistancy in the art style doesnt work for me and the images were too inconsistant. The writing followed suit, the suject of the other gangs could have been addressed all at once, then move on to the next bit of info, train arrival, phone call to lydon hsiao, running the kid over or whatever. So I mean it just didnt work. I didnt hate it so :6
Dawgmastas-What up Dawg! WHUUU?! Thats what I thought when I read this one. The colors were good a nice cartoon pallet, solid. The crass humor is definitely nice. But I was lost from going from one page to the next. We moved from scene to scene without any flow or lead in. Characters seemed to be poping in out of nowhere for no pupose. Unfortunately I hated it Dawg sorry. :3
On both I think you should try to write each comic as if those reading it have no idea what you are or where you came from or what you are doing. I mean not a full recap but somehow give some insight. You dont want everyone to have to refer to your characters bio.
