Spikes i\'m glad you\'re back.
Those colours are amazing. I like those funky backgrounds as well were everything is all cluttered and piled up. You give me a  direction of how the city looks and feels like. The red highlights perfectly display your perspective of Void and i can\'t imagine it any other way. The action was ball blazing as usual, you stepped it up a couple of notches. It really strikes me humorously how Agent Black\'s modern complex weapons couldn\'t stand up to James\' streetfight style. Jesus man, i fought like that in highschool...and it still works. lol
The panels where Black reloads ammo is also a silver piece of a movie director.
Storywise you really had me aching for more, but most of all makes me step my game up too. I\'ve reread it the entire week before voting and commenting. It\'s just like the fresh comic you bought at the store.
Keep up the cuntily good work you fokken\' moppit!

Monday
Yours i\'ve also reread till friday. It was pretty complex and hard to follow in the beginning, it took me a while to realize they were in a live(?) forum. I like the story idea with all those assassins poppin out everywhere. Another thing, the way you divided the comic in two part is also a good move to me. It allowed me to take a break and not forget the info. That 10+ Points thing kicked ass. It had me going: \"Holy fukk how did this guy land on my windshield.\"  I love it how James and Black first meet and face off at the end with the infrared lights. Your mind is full of creative ideas like that as the way you draw movement, the sketchiness works for you.
You gotta do something about those scribbly dialogues someday though. Some are clear, but some of em force me to read it. Another hard ass comic wich leaves me inspired and asking for more. I got the feeling we have to fight someday, i like your bullets. lol

Thanx for the inspiration guys. I will still return to this long after it\'s archived, this is a milestone folks.

o. fu. haw. DAMMMMNHOT. x 2.0^10

that was....seriously possibly the greatest thing that\'s ever lived up to it\'s hype.

my one. singular. only thing. Monday: A quick slide through the levels and a dab of the clone tool here and there would have just made this motherfucking brilliant. Im all for a sketchy feel, but seeing the white-out evidence in the panels just makes it look sloppy. :c
I know what with being pressed for time and all that, so Im really just sayin\'.

I think James would say, \"Fuckin\' grand.\"

Spikes -- Welcome back! I know you\'ve been working on stuff outside of Void for a while now, and it shows. You were awesome before, but now it\'s just up a few thousand levels. Every page WORKED. The flow, the pacing, the wisecracks, the colors, everything was fucking perfect. It\'s rare for me to say that, but damn. I do wish, however, that you had connected a little to James\' coma, but using an extended stay in Japan was cool too. This is your best work. I expect to see more like it soon.

Monday -- Well, I\'m never an enormous fan of your stuff, but this worked better than most of your material. Usually I find your pages to be a little too cluttered and messy, and I get lost in how dense it all is. Still, you reduced some of those problems by toning down how much happens on each page (I think switching to a less rectangular dimension in terms of your pages helped). Your story came out a lot clearer, and you worked James like a pro.

Nicely done, but I think I see Agent Black as a certain amputee from here on out, if you know what I mean.

Spikes: You have a couple panels in your fight that are kinda stiff.  First example is on page 4, with James looking in on Ayumi in the bed.  The panels on either side have really natural figures, but that one had me feeling there was something awkward about the poses.
Your transitions and flow is fantastic, with the exception of the transition from page 28 to 29.  Maybe it would have read a little easier if it showed where Black was in relationship to James before he started wailing on him.
Page 35 is a great way to end with Black, but the impact was lessened a little when you kept going.  You had a lot more story to tell so there\'s not much to do about it, but maybe if it had been full page instead of having the white border it might not have felt so much like that\'s where the whole thing should end.
I have a lot of respect for what you can do, and you can tell an amazing story.  Everyone else seems to have covered how great you do colors, backgrounds, people, vehicles, etc, and I entirely agree.  My crits are probably sort of nit-picky considering that whenever you do something in Void you\'re guaranteed to wreck shit.  But since you\'re in for professional comics, maybe they\'re something to think about.

Monday: The buildup in the beginning was very good and generated good interest in the story.  The videogame meeting kind of threw me, and I spent a lot of time wondering about why these mysterious people chose to use a game for a mysterious meeting.  Kind of distracting, but not a big deal.
The big hit on James was a really great idea, and I\'m interested to see where you go with your \"to be continued.\"
The \"Part One:End\" and \"Part Two:Start\" pages were really unneccesary.  Your closing and opening panels on the pages they separate speak well on their own and flow a little better.  Have a little more faith in them.

That was a rockin\' fun battle, guys.  Seriously intense.

Wow Gents,
A fantastic match.
Either way it turns out, you guys are on another level.

Spikes,
Colors througout were great. Your Geoff Darrow level of detail is fun to look at, but unlike Darrow, your calm spots and page design are fantastic in how they allow a viewer to breath. I very much enjoyed your charicterization/dialoge.

Monday,
Story is what drives your piece. It was very strong, very interesting to read. I got a little lost at times with the art, but was able to catch back up when it mattered. What a story.

I  think you both deserve scars, and the points.

Salutations and Congradulations,

alright, i RARELY crit, i\'m usually an observer, but i gotta throw my two cents in.

spikezz: I have missed you so much around here, and you don\'t hesitate to rock my eyeballs right the fuck out. I love your writing and dialogue, and the sheer quality of your work is straight pimp vicious. I gave you the higher score quality-wise cause you used color, and was a tad more pleasing to the eye (not that monday\'s wasn\'t, but i\'m a fan of those who can use color to make their work explode with funk.)

Mondaiieeyyy: PATRICK FUCKING DUFFY LASER EYES AND 4CHAN REFERENCE. You are truly a /b/rother. I got a tad lost in the storyline, but your writing is epic as always nonetheless. Agent Black is such an awesome character, and you pull out all the stops when it comes to your work. You are a master of black and white, but alas, my heart belongs to color, so i gave you a B+ and spikes the A, but everything else was straight funky.

Envy. Pure and total envy. You both were brought out what VOID is supposed to be and bitch-slapped the rest of us. Hard.

Spike: Sweet Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I wish I had been in VOID when you were doing battles before this. This was a FANTASTIC comic. I loved the cyber-punk VOID. The flow was perfect, the details to die for, and the characters done exactly as they should be.

Monday: God, your story telling is so complex, unique, and mind-blowing that I get drawn into each of your comics. And they just keep getting BETTER. You, sir, are a fucking machine. My ONLY complaint would be the hand-written text. It pulls me out of the \'zone\' just enough to be slightly annoying. Other than that... dude. <3

Both got extremely high scores from  me, but Spike got it in the end. Still... Viva Black!

holy.. what the...
I...

Sweet. Zombie. Jesus. To the both of you. Seriously.
Like... man. James. The most awesome awesomeness i have seen ANYWHERE in MONTHS AND MONTHS. The pacing.. the art.. the color scheme... the fighting... the story... and blowing up most of void city? EPIC. Just... if anything has ever EVER deserved straight A\'s... it was that. This is why i hesitate to ever give A\'s.. because i know there\'s another level out there. THIS level. This is A quality.
Monday... my BOY. At first i said \"pfft. after reading james\'s battles there\'s NOTHING he could pull out to entertain me.\" Lies. Unholy LIES. Because you rocked my WORLD. Never before have i seen a set of battles which have so inspired me. Never. and i doubt i\'ll ever see such a thing again. The storytelling... your unique.. unbe-frikkin-lievable unique style.. the battles. AWESOMEness. Your art can still use a little tweaking (like most of us, eh?) but you are a sequential art, storytelling, fight scene MONSTER. If you lose this it won\'t be by much.

You guys can\'t see this... but i\'m giving you a standing ovation right now.

Hot Damn. That was dinner AND and show.

Spikes- Dude, this was amazing. I can\'t help but totally admire your linework. Even without the color, I feel that your inks could stand alone and still carry the mood. Your color use is utterly amazing, though, and compltely compliments your graphic inking style. The pacing, the action...damn. This is what comics are all about. I gave you A\'s across the board.
P.S. Dude, Paolo cameo. haha. Yessss.

Monday- Have I ever told you that I am in love with your work? It\'s the artistic equivalent of stream-of-consciousness writing, and I enjoy it for the dialogue as much as the art. Reading your work is like watching a cartoon...you can actually anticipate how each character is going to react and move. Some of your facial anatomy was a little on the wonky side in a few places, but overall this was a marvellous entry on your part. I gave you A\'s for creativity and entertainment, but a B for artistic quality.

Monday has always played Final Fantasy VII at level 99. And he continued to do so in this battle.
Spikes just pulled out his own goddamn game. There are no level caps.

I told Monday he\'d have to pull the awesome out of his own ass if he wanted to win this one, while Spike already had it loaded into a fucking gun.

Monday was awesome as always. Spikes was just epic.

Wow. It will be quite a while before we see another battle as epic as this. Everybody expected you guys to come out with both quantity and quality and you both did not fail to disappoint!

spikes - I was starting to think I\'d never see a James fight in my time here. How foolish I was. I loved how your art was superb all around. Characters, backgrounds, and the futuristic gadgets everywhere! I love your vision of Void City! Not to mention the juice box scene was damn sweet.

Monday - I\'ve always liked your fights and I always will. Your version of James was very fun to read. James is a legend and you displayed him as such. Your action scenes have always been explosive (heehee, I\'m funny) and remains as such.

You guys are two different generations of Void greatness and deserve the respect you receive. Both fights were worth the time and left me wanting more! In summary: SHITTING FUCK!

You- like Marley left me in a cliffhanger- DAMN YOU.

Monday-  AHHHHHHHh your BEST! I was so anxious to see what you\'d pull out! You have a new lover of your comics, babe- To go up against Jamez- SHIT- I know how you feel with the feeling of thinking you might lose- but GOD so full of awsomeness up in here.  It is VERY hard to chose between you both.

James-I think very few fights on this site have really blown me away, and this is of course one of them. I think my favorite part of the fight was not the smooth pacing or the plot, it was the backgrounds. The backgrounds were pretty much in a league of their own and I can only imagine where you cam up with the ideas for all of them.

Monday-beautiful job on your fight. You\'ve also come a long way and I adored your expressive style. My votes were pretty close but James won my vote. The thing that kept you from winning in my book was there were a few times where I was confused as to what was going on.

This is the best battle I have ever seen on Void. Hands-down. Better than ANYTHING else, and I\'ve read almost all the fights in the archive. You both brought stuff to the table with this fight that no one has ever dreamed of.

James, your pacing was perfect. Your atmosphere was perfect. Your colors were perfect. Your characterization... FUCK. I have never seen somone other than Monday write Black\'s character so well. I don\'t know what else I can say.

Pio, you went into this knowing you would lose, a fucking SCAR MATCH, and you still gave it your all. This was a fucking amazing story, chock-full of all the subterfuge, secrets, turnaround, and conspiracy that all assassin stories should have. I cannot and will not get over that closing showdown between Black and James, with the laser sights tracing elegant patterns on their bodies.

Good god. This was everything I hoped it would be and more. You did not disappoint, and I thank you kind gentlemen for that.

James doesn\'t need anymore comments from me obviously <3 because he\'s all brilliant and stuff, and this fight is beautiful

Monday I am so fucking floored. Like you seriously delivered so much fucking doom. My eyeballs were going to explode on the final faceoff between james and agent black. That was seriously INTENSE. Pages 36, 37, 39, 40, 41 BRILLIANT. The motion and panel compositions are incredible. There are many artists who draw pretty, but there are very few artists I would consider to be real comic artists, and you sir are a real fucking comic artist.

I love you both so much. You guys win at life today... legends

First of all, I have to applaud you both for producing freaking huge entries.  That\'s amazing.  Both had a very hardboiled feeling to it which I really liked.

Spikes-straight A\'s, brosef. That was amazing.  I\'ve always admired your use of selected color, your pacing, your story telling and attention to detail, but let me say what made this one of your best fights ever.  It wasn\'t the page count.  You just breathed life into Void as a city that I haven\'t seen before.  The amount of time you took to establish it as James walked through reminiscing was brilliant.  All the people, robots, and everything else populating it.  I have always envisioned it as a kind of ultru-urban dirty city, but with this fight, it makes sence.  Void can look no different than this.  With all of the crazy animal people, robots, supernatural stuff inhabiting it, it has to look like a blade runner genre melting pot.  Thanks for the inspiration, man.  Now I know where everybody here lives.

Monday-I\'ve got to say man.  Incredible effort.  I\'m sorry for you that it\'s up against such impossible odds.  While I think your art has room to grow into a more streamlined maturity, your entry had a really good feel.  One that actually blended well with Spikes\' stuff.  I loved all the assassins coming out of every where.  I liked the seperation into different parts, almost like a play has acts.  I loved the spoon.  Keep up the good work.

Monday - Epic stuff!! You\'ve still got a ways to go with your art style, but it ha\'s improved for this battle by a LOT. It\'s great to see that kind of effort! The story was also well conducted and we learned a bit more about Black\'s past. You put up a gr10 fight. :D:D:D
