Hey we\'re allowed to think that Hiemie\'s attitude was offensive. Because guess what? IT WAS.

Plus you didn\'t read a smidge of what jack wrote. He didn\'t say a single thing about the votes.

Just because I wasn\'t entertained by heimie\'s lackluster entry doesn\'t invalidate my opinion. Get a grip dan and learn that some people have completely different points of view than YOU do.

Personally I think no votes should ever be erased, instead maybe, trying a different voting system. You see, I could very much just have multiple accounts and constantly having B-B-B votes for me and C-C-C votes to the other, and I so sure people wouldn\'t even notice.

I didn\'t ignore it, Jack... I was responding to the top half. everyone is quick to bring up the fact that he was mad about the cheat votes... which there were and they were confirmed, so I wish people would quit saying it like he cried and got us to change votes that were legit. Your comment makes it sound like he did just that, which he didn\'t. I\'ll address the rest later. I\'ve read all three... and it seems like you guys are basing your problems with hiemie\'s mostly off the fact that you don\'t feel he shoulda made it this far. You\'ll say \"you ignored the rest of the comment\" but for real, thats what you guys sound like so far. These comments seriously, so far, all sound like biased personal crap trying to hide behind legit crits.... which are based on votes that you make sound like should have been allowed. Thats all I\'m saying right now. I\'ll touch on the rest tomorrow and crit all the fights. I just want all the drama to stop. Seriously.

***Votes that were 1-1-1 against 10-10-10 were the ONLY ones deemed unfair.... as stated in Void rules and regulations, and which are deemed unfair in ALL fights. I was the one who went through and picked them out and had them erased. NO OTHER VOTES were removed, EXCEPT those. There were about 5-6 of them, and several were from ONE person with several accounts voting with the sole purpose of cheating.

Whats your excuse now?

*Votes that weren\'t deemed \"unfair\" said he won.

Dan there\'s a difference between different and good. I\'d say this time, Hiemie did a really nice looking comic and another sub par story. I got the jokes he was telling and they were pretty funny, but the execution really shows a lack of respect for his competitors. If he wants to compete with other comic artists without interacting with them he can put a book out and compete with pros, but we\'re here to have fun and it\'s expected that you use some of the other artists\' ideas in your work because these are all collaborative efforts. Hiemie chose to completely ignore everything but the designs of everyone else\'s characters while they ran the risk of getting downvoted for doing the exact same thing he was praised for doing and changing the character.

Aside from that:

Six, Dure, I really had a hard time choosing between you guys. Six, your storytelling\'s improved by miles and I actually wound up caring about Jakob and his future, so major points for that. I like you experimenting with your layouts but if you\'re going to go so cluttered you should pick up some issues of 2000AD. Dure, you had that bizarre blend of action, horror and comedy you always bring and it was really at its best here, but I do have to adress one problem I have with all your writing. I really really don\'t like how you tie your characters together with that one group or whatever. Especially here but also on Headhunter it felt extremely clunky and awkward, and took me out of the story. That aside though, You guys both did a good job, and Hiemie, this was the best art I\'ve ever seen from you but easily the lamest story. Better luck next time.

I like how a lot of you are all of Void moving away from strictly \"battle\" comics in general.... unless it involves someone you have a problem with winning... then they SHOULD have done a battle comic like every other one did.

Marley. Dawg.... anyone else who wants to accuse Hiemie of shit.

The VOTES said HE won. Thats what we go on. Meaning you guys are in the MINORITY.

QUIT crying about it and making a big stink because you guys are coming off as sore losers and you weren\'t even involved. If the votes said Zsa won, he would be here. Hiemie \"crying\" had NOTHING to do with the fact that the VOTES said he won, and not the other way around.

He did something DIFFERENT. a YEAR ago you guys would have commended him for that.

Or does someone\'s name need to be Pong for that method to work? I love how fast you guys can turn on someone, who you used to praise for doing the same thing that he\'s doing now... and seem to prefer more of the \"usual\" instead.

But it leads folks to question their values in a /good/ way doesn\'t it ? What perplexes me about my time in void is that sometimes all the work I put into my fights dont always go through- its hit or miss usually, and more factors than art is involved. Sometimes theres the technical skills and other times its the idea of it. Yeah, I had hoped Zsa was gonna get it this year, but he let his guard down for one second. And, so did I.

I realize its not funny but theres really not much else we can do once the votes go through.

Except destroy the next person who fights us. And come around next year with a megatonic death wish.

I don\'t think its funny at all. Zsa poured so much effort in this competition, and the guy who beat him after squealing and wailing about it for a week. Threatening to quit, throwing out cheating accusations, and just whining in general. After all that crap, he turns in a crap anticlimactic 3 pager.

Its not funny when people who actually give a shit about putting work in get shot in the foot.

Oh man I thoroughly enjoyed the subtleties in heimies work actually. And you can tell its effective because of everyone\'s comments. Sorry to speak in metaphysics but the very reactions this has provoked proves the point. King of Ring ? Awkward Gay couple relationships ? yeah its so unconventional it hurts but waiting until the finals- A THREE WAY DEATHMATCH FINALS that I would KILL to get into ? AND THEN PULLING THIS SHIT OFF ? I fucking laughed my ass off. It\'s a feat in of itself but its not exactly a comic meant to win comic points, but I\'m pretty sure heimie was ready for that when he did this.

Six: glad you brought the attention to your battle\'s previous continuity and the story flowed out nicely, but something about the clustered paneling isn\'t paced out for the dramatic effect that I think you were going for. The sun explosion and the baseball beat scene could be much more raw with punctuated and larger frames as well as a clear passage of time. And I dunno why , but the scribbly feel of Mr. Sun
didn\'t feel present here, its a hard feeling to pull off actually since its so ingrained with heimie\'s drawing style. Good shot though, you probbably shoulda hinted that Sebi\'s bat was made of super-dense carbons filled with dead people but thats just something only I would get hahahah XD

Dureeeeeeee: Nice shot this time around. The story is an episodic encounter and OSbot is going onto some Canti personality. Though characterwise for OSbot im getting hints of a struggle from him ? That probably would have to be expressed further or stronger. But I\'ve got no problem with the ensuing violence that occured and the motions that fell through. Visiually pleasing but the story seemed a tad chaotic- just going through the flows you know ? What was at stake here for you character ? What does the reader gain ? Eventually a killer robot based on a windows program is gonna lose its novelty and you\'re gonna have to consider what else is there about this guy that can garner interest.

But hey , good luck man.

You all totally caught me shooting up on paint thinner.

Hoohoho. Three wayy!

Hiemie: I think this battle\'s art was my favourite in your whole sdt comics! It\'s very detailed, and you sure took your time drawing it. They look more thought up, compared to your previous battles. I think that even though the minimum page is 3, maybe you should have done more pages, since this is a finals (and the killing was all explained in one page?) - It\'s not a matter that \"if you can do it in less\" but that a three way finals probably deserved it.

Six: I like the plot a lot. It\'s more like a \"what happens after\" rather than the ending of it, probably relating Jacob with how will he behave in Void City if he wins. However I saw many problems with your art, and most, for the first time in your comics, maybe: Most of your full bodies look out of proportion, generally having short arms, or big heads. The panel where he shows up is disconected with the previous where he hits the dude, you\'d guess he\'d be in a batting pose. And the perspective panels generally have the involved characters in completely different perspective levels, like one of the panels Jacob hits the guys.
Aside from that, it was a very enjoyable read.

Dure: Woa man, those inks were a nice surprise, as I had never seen your inks before, and the were good! The plot was cool, and I liked the way you tied up the story. When I first read I thought the pacing was off, but now I think it\'s alright.
I\'d still love to see it fully coloured like you did in the first pages though, haha.

Goood luck there guys, this should be a tough battle!

Heimie: Funny, but I wish it was longer. You tied things in well, so it came out cute and short. Same quality as your other battles, so that\'s good too! I think I liked your other rounds better though. <3

Sixtem: Things were already stated about your story, but your tied them in well enough. Good work on bringing OSbot back in, I was wondering how you would pull that off. Your quality is good on this one.

Dure: a step up from your other fights. That first page is wonderful, I wish I could\'ve seen more like that one in this fight. I found your story to be almost the same as Six\'s, just not as fast paced.

I am tied between all three of you in many ways, but after thinking for a day with my votes, I am going for Sixtem. (I love all of you the same though!!)

Wonderful work and Great job getting to the end in the tournament!!

Woah, thought I\'d interject here with my take.

Hiemie - I think your stuff is pretty amusing in general. Doesn\'t fit the format of \'battle comic\' really, but I like that. It has gotten a bit repetitive really but I suppose that\'s the point. It\'s so anticlimactic, which I think is fucking hilarious but also somewhat of a let down for some people I guess.

Sixtem - Most of the stuff has already been said. Didn\'t really build the story well enough, though I like how Jakob\'s character has changed. Perhaps if you had emphasized that more, and don\'t give me this \'can\'t do better\' crap. I know you can! I really like your stuff XD

Duredhel - Pretty solid overall. I enjoyed it, also nice montage at the end <3

Overally I\'d say it goes to Duredhel. Hiemie, I love your stuff but I just don\'t think enough people are going to get what you\'re trying to do. Blame it on the audience I guess, but I think you need to take them into account if you\'re expecting to win.

Pong, Qyzex, I\'m gonna be serious here for a change. While Shortfury\'s critique along with Angela\'s was pretty fuckin\' harsh. You gotta realize that this is the final round of the SPEED DEATH TOURNAMENT, and a 3 way fight which is a first for this tourney to top that off. People are expecting more, and since Hiemie (Are you reading this man?) has been in almost every tourney on void and has done a lot better in the past, isn\'t it only natural for us to think that he could of given us more than just three pages of him cheaply killing off two characters that belong to two artists who have done their best to get this far?

It\'s nice that you\'re sticking up for your friend here, but there\'s hardly anything to defend him from. I know if I was hiemie and I just heard: \"This sucks... nuff said....\" and \"I\'m with this person...\" I\'d be pretty peeved myself. But right now he\'s also got people critiquing him like normal and giving him the list of what they like and don\'t like in hopes that he\'ll improve in the next battle. So Pong, Qyzex, stop being ridiculous and go back to WFA.

Hiemie- People are going to give you shit because your comic was short.  Those people are stupid.  It was clever, straight forward and funny.  It wasn\'t long though, but who cares about dragging things out when you can deliver what you need to deftly and efficiently?

Sixtem- Ho-hum, you tried.  The art was decent, but the story was bleh.  I still read the whole thing though, so it was at least interesting enough to keep me reading.  Like kuro stated it seemed like you had trouble integrating the three characters into one story.

Dure- So far as I\'m concerned this match is really between you and Heimie.  Interesting story, great way to tie everything together.  Art was good - but I wish it was consistent, if you\'re going to do color do color, if you don\'t have time to do color then don\'t - you have to go one way or the other instead of sitting on the fence.

Qyzex, you\'re so ridic.

no qyz, you\'re ridiculous.

i liked dure\'s the best because it seemed the most complete & consistent.

hiemie- did you like lose steam or something? what was that?

sixtem- yours was ok, but for like a three way battle, it almost seemed like you were set up to battle mr. sun & then tacked on the osbot bit in the beginning, you know? and your backgrounds always seem to be going uphill to me. a lot of the same angles

dure- the biggest complaint i had was that the color in the beginning was a tease. if you held that throughout, i think that would have been pretty damn good. but yours was dynamic & had the most interesting story considering i think.

I liked your other rounds a lot heimie but this one didn\'t really do anything for me. Having them live together was kinda weird as well since in the first ones they hated eachother.
Sixtem, it was really good. I like the shading without colouring thing, it had a good feel to it. I think hitting away the explosion with a bat without even getting hurt sucked. And in pg 5 when he gets hit by the bat the hand positions and stuff look like he\'s swinging the bat down not sideways. Maybe you could of added speed lines or something to clear it up.
Duredhal, I think I like yours the best. All the action and story were really good. I think maybe if you were short on time you could\'ve just scrapped the colouring. Just the way it goes from really good to nothing in 3 pages makes people notice it\'s incomplete. I like the view you did for the explosion too. Very nice.

The reason why everyone has Mr Sun explode when he dies is because it says in his bio that that\'s what happens if he dies. They are just following the script. Nothing wrong with that.

I have to say Heimie you could have done more. 3 pages for the final round of an epic tourney is kinda lame. And I\'m not really getting the whole Mr. Sun and Thunder guy acting like a married couple. What\'s that all about?

Sixtem: I actually believe you won this, even if the votes say otherwise. You had good art. You had an intriging storyline that featured all 3 characters evenly. And the ending reminded me of FLCL with the whole bat thing.

Duredhal: Your art and storyline was just as good as Sixtem\'s. I had a really hard time figureing out who I liked better. It was funny how he got Mr. Sun pissed off. I think it trailed off at the end though. The ending killed you. It looks like you might win this but I think you are 1b to Sixtem\'s 1a.

Overall very nice end to a wonderful tourney.

Hiemie: I still got a good laugh out of your comic, so it did its job.

Duredhel: This was awesome! I really liked what you did with it, and I hope you continue to use OSbot after the tourney.

Everyone else: I\'m not sure why you\'re surprised, haha! I did my best, and it wasn\'t good enough. You guys were just kidding yourselves if you honestly thought I had a shot at beating Hiemie or Duredhel if either of them stepped it up to their usual game. While I did improve a lot, and I learned a lot, I honestly should\'ve been knocked out in the first or second round. I just got lucky in this tourney. I think you guys just like an underdog story.

Either way, thanks for the critiques!

Hoo boy... not really what I had hoped for in this tourney.

Hiemie: Weaksauce man. I know you were going for gold in this tourney with the whole Mr. Sun vs Thunderhead rivalry. But dude... it gets pretty stale after 4 straight rounds ya know? First two matches you had were awesome, original, and creative! 3rd round was... OK to me but it was like eating a day old and uncooked slice of pizza. Stale, but still enjoyable and tasty. This round was just repetitive and unoriginal. If this was that pizza, I\'d order up some Chinese.

We have all seen Mr. Sun\'s rivalry with Mean ol\' Thunderhead. Does that really have to be the subject of every comic with this guy? What if Mr. Sun really did have to meet greet and battle? What if Mr. Sun actually had to... dare I say it... intentionally kill somebody!

You had a good character here man, but right now I\'m left wondering if this is all we\'ll ever see from ya in every tourney you sign up for? And I for one know you\'re capable of better comics! For the art I gave you some extra points since you had the most consistent comic out of everybody\'s so far. But it\'s nothing spectacular dude, it\'s all the straightforward shots we\'ve seen ya do before in that same cartoony style... STEP IT UP HIEMIE!

Sixtem: I gotta say dude, I did not expect ya to get this far, I actually thought you were gonna go all the way here. But like Marley said, it kinda feels like you were starting to lose a lot of steam towards the end, especially considering the stakes here. The story was good, and I enjoyed what you had to offer at the end. The art was pretty good, granted this reminds me of a strange new style for One Piece. But it was consistent and easily read which is a plus for ya. You\'ve stepped up since you first joined man.

Dure: While I haven\'t been your biggest supporter man... I must say that you\'ve changed my opinion on whether or not you should of been in the final round with this comic. I\'m still not a big fan of your backgrounds, but you did seem to mix it up a bit with the old folks home interior and made it look like a place an old person would live in instead of a big empty box like in your last fight. The big fight was very well done, granted OS had a bit of a deus ex machina moment there... and personally I really don\'t like that as it\'s too easy to do in a storyline, also this is technically the 3rd battle you\'ve ended with a big explosion. Why doesn\'t anybody just have Mr. Sun die without exploding? But I guess you wanted to do the explosion because apparently Mr. Sun was able to melt part of OS to end on that \"He\'s gone... or is he\" moment. But it just doesn\'t feel original dude, and in all honesty... I believe other people here have done that plenty of times with their fighters.

Art here was the strongest showing of the 3... however having 2 pages colored and the rest black and white really hurts it in the end for me. If you don\'t have time to color, leave everything black and white. Being more consistent with your pages looks better in the end granted I know you wanted to make this look awesome and I\'ll give ya that man.

Overall... I really wish there was more to this round in all honesty, nothing here made me say: Wow! This was the most original and amazing thing ever! However the art here is nothing to scoff at either, both Dure and Six have stepped up from their last match with one another. They both get an even vote from me, and I\'m glad you two got a rematch.  Long live Dr. Anthropos!!

I agree with Marley about Hiemie.

Sixtem-I really wanted you to win this because I really like Jakob and thought he had potential outside of the SDT. I also really wanted to see his disease taken care of to see what road he would take next. But I just couldn\'t give you the vote. While artistically this was on par with the rest of your entries, I just wasn\'t that into the story. I understand that you had to deal with the problem of OSBot still being alive and I feel like you could have dealt with him a lot better instead of just shoving him out of the way as soon as possible. The end was also fairly abrupt so I can only assume you ran out of time, I just wish it would have been a bit longer. I hope you plan on sticking around and continuing to battle since you really leveled up in the SDT.

Dure-You really stepped up artistically! It was nice to see you try a different style of inking and it looked much better than your usual stuff. I do think your backgrounds could still use some work, they still look sketchy in comparison to the figures. Seeing some more solid blacks incorporated into the background could have helped a lot. You\'re also still having some problems with the speedlines, I\'m not sure what you\'re using to make them but they look pretty pixelated. But other than that this was a fairly solid entry and was a step up for you. I swear to god, you better use this character again if you win. I hate seeing SDT champions evaporate

Sixtem - It feels like you ran out of ideas story wise. Good job on this tournament overall, but this wasn\'t your round.

Hiemie:  You should have lost last round.  I thought you had a chance to win this match, though, but that was really weak.

Sixtem:  It was really cool until the last few pages.  Tourney stories are never a good idea.

Dure: Your comic was easily the best.

Killing two fighters at the same time is pretty fukking bad ass.

My innocent heart hopes you guys pull it off.
My guilty conscience hopes for a triple default just to see what happens.

Last night we corrected the votes for some cheats that had been cast, at the time, flipping the winner in at least one of the matches.  In addition, historically, when a tie occurs during a tournament the Council is left to decide the winner themselves.  Since we now have technical capabilities that we didn\'t posses previously, allowing for things like a 3-way finish to an extremely close tournament like this seems much more appropriate than arbitrarily letting a handful of people decide.  The bonus length in Drawing Time is to compensate for this, as well as end on a weekend once again.

My congratulations to each of you, good luck.
