Both of you had excellent art, but I have to hand it to Chamba.  Those were some awesome foreshortening shots, and a very entertaining bit of events.

there isn\'t much for me to say that hasn\'t already been said, except my personal opinion:
entertainment-wise I enjoyed both, highlights being:
Chamba\'s cute chibi explanation of the Uber-Ownage
Jira\'s scene of Syke trying to sneak off with that elusive ice only to lose it lol

Both were good fights, but I think both could use some improvements. Jira, I enjoyed your fight alot, but I know you can do alot more artwise bud. Story was just a tad hard to follow as previously mentioned, but it was a good read.

Chamba, I won\'t doubt your art skills man, but I honestly think you can do a hell of alot better mang. Shorty mentioned what needed to be done anyway, I gave you points for quality, but I tied you with BFD overall.


I did like both entries, maybe you two should rematch again.

Jira - I\'m glad you at least made an effort to put backgrounds into your battle. They weren\'t perfect and there were some anatomy issues, but it looked like you did put some effort in. I suggest opening up your panels a little. Like throwing down a larger establishment shots. For example, after Syke enter\'s the diner would be cool to throw in an establishment shot to give everyone an idea of where all of the characters are.
I commend you on not making your opponent look like a chump. I agree with jesse that your story was much better than chamba\'s on this. You should throw down some inks and tones into your work to make it look more complete. Its an easy way to enhance your quality, since the way people vote around here is usually heavy on quality effecting all scores.

Chamba - Solid anatomy and style and its cool that you dropped some tones down. Your story reads a lot easier than Jira\'s. Its cool that your character is badass, but it was kind of bad that there are 8 pages and not a single strong background or a punch landed (I don\'t count the chibi!!!). I\'m sure you\'re more than capable of putting both of those elements into your battle, so it would be cool to see it next time. Story was really simple. The whole formula of man sees man beat other man challenges man, so I think it would be cool if you spiced it up a little with some interesting character interaction.

Overall good matchup! You guys should do this again!

I definitely loved both... and I like the ice thing. I imagine it\'s a great way to leave, and an easy was to give your opponent a plot.  It\'ll get old, no doubt, but it could develop from there anyways, like he brings the ice, but Azilyns been snatched up, even though that\'s cliche and all.

They were both pretty decent but I went with chamba in thw quality dept. Only thing that worries me is the ice thing. Chamba, how long do you plan to milk that ice gag? I imagine its gonna get old pretty quick.

This was a tough call.  Artwise, both featured rather boring, bland backgrounds - I have to give my vote for quality to chamba though, because his comic was toned - although the range of tones on most of the pages was rather limited.
But entertainment wise, I have to give my vote to blackfiredragon, it was simply more interesting to read.
Pretty much a tie in my mind.

Hahahaha... I know I\'m gonna be alone in this opinion, but I liked Jira\'s side of the fight a lot better than Syke\'s. Sure, Chamba\'s got the skills when it comes to drawing, but blackfire told a much more interesting story in this fight. Syke\'s battle ended up being nothing more than a random contest of skill, which is really boring when compared to blackfire\'s creative use of the diner setting in the ice quest and the subsequent rumble with the police.

I see that Jira is in fact losing, which saddens me, but also confirms my thought that I would be the only one in my camp.

BFD : the sheer improvement from your last battle is quite commendable.
you sequentials had a nice flow from panel to panel, which made for a pleasant read.
i definately do hope to see a continiual imrpvement in your work.

Jira: Your anatomy is getting better, but since mine\'s not perfect I wouldn\'t dream of trying to tell you what was on or off beat. But it is getting better. Looking at Chamba\'s work next to yours, all I can really say is.. XD Shade? Shading and backgrounds, hoorah! You might want to invest in a circle stencil for things like that gum ball machine, or find some loose change, bottle caps, candle jars.. (I never could find that stuff when I needed it).
I\'m not sure what happened to the car on the right (first panel of page three), but the hood is way too squiggly. For that, a french curve stencil. (I honestly don\'t know why I\'m suggesting that.. I have .. five french curves, and I can\'t remember ever using one of them). Not that there weren\'t times when I COULD have used them. I couldn\'t live without my stencils.

Chamba: Like I said, great to see you on Void. And naturally your first battle doesn\'t disappoint me. XD The shading is pretty cool, and it\'s easy to see you have a very good grasp of both shading and anatomy. Honestly my only nitpick (and it does seem very nitpicky) is dedicating an entire page to Jira\'s black (or white) out. It has it\'s charm, but it seems unnecessary. But I also wouldn\'t know, I haven\'t read many comics and I definitely haven\'t read much manga. So please! Smack me around if I\'m wrong.

Can\'t wait to see this. I wanna see what Syke! can do.

Uploaded as well, i wanted to color it but my family sprung it on me that we gotta go outta town this weekend so i couldnt color it. But for a good 5 days wrht i feel pretty good about it. I know im gonna get owned, but i feel good about it. Well have to battle again after i get better Chamba. XD
