Whimsy powered by an ungodly amount of alcohol, despair, and love of violent animals.
Overall, more to come sooooon.
Maestro Johann
Late 40s
He/they
Background:
Formerly an aristocrat of the secret mage city-state of Symphonia. They left a long time ago…
Powers:
Johann has mastered the art of using music as a conduit for magic. He can wield instruments, his own voice, or a conductor’s baton to achieve the effects he desires. His magic specializes in forming bonds with animals. While he can force almost any animal to do his bidding, he finds that properly training them creates the most loyal companions.
His powers are not limited to simple animals, either. Anthros and werebeasts can also be susceptible. The rule of thumb is that his magic seeks out the feral nature within a creature. The more something gives in to its animalistic nature, the easier it is for him to hook his influence into them.
Anthros: Those with human or higher intelligence can't be controlled normally. Morally, Johann respects them enough not to view them the same way he views feral animals. They might even find his music extra pleasant, but I’ll leave that up to the individual, haha.
Shifters: He can’t influence shifters while they’re in their human forms, but once they become more bestial, it’s FREE REAL ESTATE. It may be more difficult for those who retain their higher intelligence, but that’s part of the fun for him. If they lose too much of their humanity, he can help them recover it or keep them in their beast form. : )
His magic is not limited to the living, though he has little experience with undead creatures, as they tend to already have someone else’s magic pulling their strings. He would love the opportunity to get some practice.
In terms of influence, he bonds best with mammals. He struggles with and has a particular distaste for aquatic beasts.
NPC:
Otto the Otamatone: All he can say is “weeeeeeeeee”; his life purpose is to offer you a drink.
