Rey dreamed of being a hero, grew up idolizing comic book heroes, wanted to even play one on tv like his favorite Tokusatsu Hero, Kamen Champion.
But Lacked the movie star looks or raw acting talent to be one, but he excelled in martial arts, so he became the man under the helmet, the unseen stunt man, he was living the dream.

Then the show as cancelled, his dreams were dashed as well, there's no more heroes left in his world, he sank into depression. Until one day a mysterious sorceress granted him his greatest wish and made him into a REAL hero, the Kamen Champion in real life, in exchange for his body and soul.
-- Running on borrowed time, Rey fights for the People of Void, the people who dream and need a Champion, he can be that Masked Champion.
