Updated (2025) Lady Cadenza Di Basso goes by Cadenza during her extended stay in Void City. Cadenza is proud, direct, and haughty. She dedicates her life to her magical studies above all else. Cadenza’s rebellious streak has put her at odds with her mother, who has groomed her to become the perfect successor and pawn for her political scheming. As a consequence, her mother banished her from her home, and she’s been slumming it in Void City ever since. Arrived @ age 19, currently 21? Home world: The island City-state of Symphonia (colloquially also referred to as Music City) A large island in the sea between dimensions. It had once been a hub for magic and music alike, encouraging the exchange of knowledge with those skilled enough to find it. Music is the life of the city—communities are formed around genres. The people practice a type of magic that uses music & sound as its conduit. The Island closed its borders centuries ago. Why? It was never disclosed to the public. Powers: Cadenza can either weld her instrument (or voice if needed) to produce bursts of music magic. For stronger magic, she’ll need to play songs. The magic draws from her soul. She can also take the role of conductor, a type of supportive magic. She takes the lead and amplifies the power of other people. This is a volunteer process like the trust between a musical conductor and a musician. While not all citizens of her island practice magic, everyone born here has supernatural hearing.
