A tired necromancer trying to lift his curse.
Talon is a necromancer. He was born with a curse that causes him to sap strength from other people through skin contact; direct contact, in most cases, is immediately fatal. He is terrified of being touched and almost always wears gloves and long sleeves. He is also convinced that he can find a way to remove the curse through necromancy.
Talon currently works in the Void City Morgue as an assistant coroner under the supervision of Garland. He also has an undead crow familiar named Dante, who was a gift from Holden.
--Personality--
Talon is highly introverted, preferring to remain at a distance from others both emotionally and physically. He doesn't want to hurt people, and he believes necromancy is not an inherently evil magic, typically using it to ease the restless dead. He is obsessed with studying and practicing necromancy, and can get very invested in his studies, leaving him constantly exhausted with little time to sleep. Despite his tendency to overwork himself, he is effective at research and creatively intelligent; given enough time, he can find a solution to most problems. He struggles to interact with the living, as he spends more time communicating with the dead. He is terrible at improvising and very disorganized, though makes up for it with a nearly photographic memory. He hates being referred to by his given name. He definitely has skeletons in the closet (literally and figuratively).
--Powers--
He can summon and control the dead, able to quickly reanimate non-intelligent zombies or skeletons. Larger groups of undead can be exhausting to maintain. True resurrections are possible, but difficult and extremely dangerous, and he will refuse to perform them unless absolutely necessary.
Talon specializes in spirit-related work. He has a passive ability to see ghosts, though a ritual usually must be performed in order to interact with them (or contain them). He is skilled at controlling or calming even the most dangerous poltergeists.
Physical contact with pure silver will block his magic, preventing him from using necromancy. Physical contact with iron will block his magic and also cause exhaustion, confusion, and other negative side effects. Neither of these materials can block his curse.
In case of emergency, his curse will kill any living thing nearly instantly through skin contact. He will not use it unless his life is in danger.
--A note about the setting--
The setting in Talon's comics sometimes switches between a modern void city and an 1800s-esque one. The story is the same between these and any differences are just aesthetic.
