Lydia Cortez originally the Blue Rainbow Guardian, is the last remaining member out of the 7 Rainbow Guardians. When a guardian is relieved from its power (from death), that power would distribute to its team. During a battle with the Mighty Magician Monty and his Guardian Clones, one by one the guardians fell. Each death made the remaining ones stronger. Only Lydia and a dismembered Cory(red guardian)remained. Monty seeing his opportunity releases hidden rabbit blast towards Lydia. In a selfless effort, Cory takes the hit saving Lydia. The smoke clears and from it emerges with the combined powers of all 7 Guardians, the WHITE LIGHT GUARDIAN. The light burns all that look at it and is victorious. But now with the burden of responsibility and guilt for the death of her team she searches the universe for those worthy to become Rainbow Guardians.
