CONGRATS ON THE COMICS, EVERYONE!!
TGOOD: As always, I just LOVE your art so much!! It's so appealing to look at and I'm always in awe of how well you can simplify things while still packing in an incredible amount of detail!!
The cameos were really fun too! (MinSoo killed me the first time I saw him, hahaha.) I just had so much fun reading this story.
TECHNO: Sorry you didn't have time to finish it, but I could still mostly follow along! I love getting to see the family hanging out❤️❤️
RORA: Soijin's confidence is so fun to watch! It was a good read, and ayyoo!! I'm getting hyped to see her in Cataclysm, especially with that interesting ending 👀👀
BOOGIDI: So much energy, and so wild! Considering the lighthearted tone of the comic, having him say "bro" in almost every speech bubble somehow just kept getting funnier. Bro.
FOOTINI: Such a funny comic! Jaja's commitment to not working is hilarious as things just keep escalating. The Soijin and Mitsu part was my favorite. If you're going to ruin her vibes, then she's gonna ruin YOUR vibes.
I'm like always blown away by how many cameos you manage to fit in your comics and managing to have everyone fit rather naturally into their roles. I think that skill really shines in this comic here as with every new character introduction, it doesn't really disrupt the flow of the story or seem totally out of place or anything. It like adds more if anything. The premise of the comic (Jaja trying to go on vacation) seems fairly mundane and regular but in a place like the Voidlands, it's anything but. I think this comic fairly captures just how wacky of a place both Voidlands and the website itself can get.
Anywho, this was a really fun comic to read! I totally relate to Jaja deciding to have a staycation at the end and the FFXIV reference killed me (just like Felix's shirt). Mad respect for Jaja being a controller player tbh
Techno!! I was so excited to read this after you told me your idea and you didn't disappoint! Despite being in such a rough state, I absolutely loved this and would love to see it in a more finished state one day (if you even wish it, I'd be so down to collab on this too. Just HMU). Given its current state, I don't have any actual criticism but I do have a lot of gush for it.
Great job! I hope to see stuff you've shown in this comic more explored in later stuff. Always love seeing the family together :)
tgood!!! As usual, you really nailed it in the art department. It's CRAZY impressive how well you did the cityscape and the interior of the helicopter in the first page. Even in the later pages where the backgrounds are more sparse, the amount of dynamic action and energy in your poses make up for it and arranged in such a way where you can still read the flow pretty easily (Page 7 is the best example and honestly probably my favorite page of the whole comic).
As for the story....after the intense, action packed thrillers you've been throwing at us in your previous comics, it's so nice to see something on the more mundane, light-hearted side (even if the contents aren't so mundane lol). I've been wanting to see more mother!Choko and Ryu since the Halloween comic and this didn't disappoint. While it's already been established how far Choko's willing to go for her son, this really cements it for me. Taking attention away from a car chase just to watch her son play baseball...while in a moving helicopter? Even trying to bribe Kaneki-chan? In addition to Kurdis blatantly smoking a blunt at the game and Soo dressing up to show his support (he totally would and Minjun will regret it lol), you got some wacky-ass shit (pos) going on here.
Aside from the wackiness, the ending of the comic also got me. It made me so sad seeing Ryu's reaction to losing the game but that was immediately remedied seeing Felix consoling him afterwards. So sweet of him! I need to see these two have more interactions (they both need more friends ToT)
Always love seeing more stuff from you! Thanks for including the boys in as a cameo too <3 (I busted out laughing seeing Soo for the first time lol)
I liked your choice to go with a wintery theme when everyone else chose the beach-y summery route. That and making a unique location with its own lore and fauna really made your comic stand out to me even in its unfinished state. I too have a habit of diving into new projects before finishing older ones so I understand, but there are a lot of neat ideas here and I do think it would be really cool to see you revisit this and show off the completed vision. Either way, big respect for managing what you did! I enjoyed it
Hey Rora, awesome work! I'm impressed by how you draw the characters in so many dynamic angles and poses it really looks great. It's also really neat to see so many more characters from Sojiin's world show up. As with Sojiin's intro comic i find myself left with a burning desire to see and know more about it all!
The energy of your lines is unreal, I am always in awe. Pizza covered with vanilla ice cream is crazy work though, gotta agree with bro on that one
Dope work Footini! I admired how you were able to work a new cameo and punchline onto every page while keeping it all flowing together naturally. Your stylized way of drawing the characters is always a delight to see as well. Very fun!
Lol! Lovely comic Footini!! love the bot at the end!! lol Glad Jaja found somewhere comfortable!
YEAH these were pretty good reads too! Like on Beachside, I'll post everything in a single comment to prevent cluttering/spamming
TGOOD- This was so ridiculously cute and fun! Not to mention the art is beautiful! It feels refreshing to see Choko being a bit of a 'corrupt cop' when it comes to her kid's game and wanting to rig it. Loved this to bits, the plot and dynamic between characters was super organic and tied up so nicely at the end
TECHNOALCHEMIST- It's always very sweet to see Felix and their family's shenanigans! As usual, your art style is such a treat to see. The use of static as a texture was such a good touch too. The interaction with Varrick was very sweet
RORA- Ooh a lot of glamour shots in this one, very nice! It's always fun to see very powerful characters trying to one-up the other in a low-stales scenario. Is Sojin perhaps trying to impress a certain pink man? Good stuff! I'm itching to see what this deal means for Sojin!
BOOGIDI- This was such a fun read, Wreckquium's speech pattern always made me giggle without fail! The lines and poses look so so fun and it looks like you had fun making this comic, too! This was a blast to read through, had me laughing big time
FOOTINI- Very fun expressions, a kaiju crashing into a spa day is so Void LMAO! Needing vacations from vacations seems just about right.
felix is such a bean and wholesome character. Also the petting zoo as a getaway is a cute idea.
This was a fun story of struggling to get a vacay. The stay at home at the end was funny with the satraxia body pillow.
Your comics are so delightful absurd, the particle water was funny.
This was a fun introduction to the character. I like the introduction of their lore and story as well.
Goddamn the style is so crunchy and RIPPED. Sojiin looks amazing in your style! Also, I'm turning this into a drinking game, 1 shot for each time Wreck says "bro" :p
I am so sorry to hear you ran out of time and were crunched on this one but what IS here is absolutely phenomenal, Tech. You always impress with even just your sketches. The expressions are excellent and there's a sweet story inside this innocent little getaway comic. It's cool that a few of us decided to give Varrick a bit of a focus, he's definitely got some interesting lore and overall a very cool aesthetic. You did great with the short amount of time you had!
I loved the cameos, I loved how nice the lines and shading were and I very much enjoyed your take on a hero being pestered to do some crime fighting when they just want a moment to breathe. Absolutely fantastic work, Footini!
Absolutely phenomenal backgrounds, dreamy lines and shading. I love seeing your art, the details are insane and this is kinda awesome seeing how this is basically a prequel to any actual vacation appearances Choko and her son end up having!
I love what you did with bembe as the umpire. Also really impressed with how you drew the helicopter and setting.
