This was a fun action comic, I like what you did the with the villain and the heroes going against them.
The yummy thick lines MMMMMMM. Good action, loved how everyone was utilized! Some very fun, great looking panel work here!
Holy shit the panels, the punches, the simple coloring, this was PEAK. Thank you for gifting my eyes such a feast!
Holy SHIT this was FIRE! Y'all went above and beyond with this one! Also, Satraxia and Moth are my new OTP. GOD. DAMN.
I remember you guys posting that you had finished this like a week before the deadline, which is insane to me. Tons of great art in here, dynamic action and fun little character interactions! My only criticism is the lack of backgrounds. I think even one or two panels establishing the scale of the situation would have gone a long way to elevate this. Great work overall! BTW, fun little callout towards the end there, almost feels like a challenge :)
I love the yuri flesh makeout scene. the colors are amazing you both did a great job.
A super cool entry! Radji's inks and Raltz' colors are such a stellar combo. I love the limited palette used here and how it elevates the lineart itself!
It's a smaller detail, but I love the font used for the onomatopoeia here! It's so blocky and fun in a way I feel matches the feeling I get from the colors themselves.
My main gripe though is in the lettering for the dialogue. It feels a lot more messy and inconsistent - I can imagine some contexts were stuff like having text be tilted in a bubble or having the text size change multiple times throughout a page could make sense, but the way it's handled here makes it feel less intentional and more distracting. There were a couple of times where I felt my attention getting dragged away from the genuinely great action and artwork and towards a speech bubble with little room for its own text. The speech bubbles having a ton of space at the top and bottom but very little on the sides are also something I'm not a fan of, but I also know it's supposed to mimic translated manga/manhwas which I don't read as often as I honestly should, so that might just be a me thing.
But still though, I really enjoyed this entry! As I said before, I love the colors - the bright yellow combined with the grayscale is such a visual treat. The first couple of panels on page 7 stick out to me the most, with the colored line art and the pop of pink.
I enjoyed the dynamics between the characters, too! Them breaking Ash's paintbrush genuinely had me shocked.
Great work!! :D
A super fun entry! I love how expressive and fluid the linework was here, it really felt like the highlight of the whole comic. The framing on some of the pages really stuck out to me - page 12 is the absolute strongest, having such a strong composition flowing throughout the whole piece.
I do have a gripe, though - the backgrounds feel like they could've used more time. Normally I don't really mind a lack of background or vague hints of a background (I do that all the time myself), but here, it felt like it could've really benefited from having a bit more detail in at least a couple of panels. We really don't get a scale of space or size without it, which impacted the action for me - the whole just felt kinda empty, like I could hear their shoes squeaking on the floor if I was there. Even something small like adding a few torches along the walls would've helped make the whole place feel more grounded/utilized.
Also, there's a 99.9% chance that this is just a me thing, but the blood god felt kinda small throughout the comic? I'm guessing this ties into my gripe about the backgrounds - since we have no sense of scale for the environment, we can't picture what they'd fully look in it, either. Even then though, I got the sense that they were kinda big, sure, but I felt like it could've been pushed further. Maybe something like a shot closer to the blood gods' perspective and having the rest be super tiny could've helped solidify them as a massive force, which would've made the fact that they manage to take the blood god down feel more impressive.
Those were only a couple of issues that I had with this comic, though. Other than that, I honestly really enjoyed it! The blood god had such a cool design, and several of the jokes really hit for me. Loved how you utilized Duskarios as well!
Night Stalker not wanting to be seen as just a lowly vampire was super interesting to see, and Ash's toon antics were fun! I love their dynamic so much <3
Also that last page caught me so off guard omg- I had to stop myself from bursting out laughing at 2 in the morning when I first read it LMAO
YURI! YURI! WOMEN KISSING! SESBIAN LEX!!!!
*ahem*
Anyways, this was an absolutely incredible entry! Footini's expressions and Doe's colors makes for such a STELLAR combo! I loved the writing here, too - each character was handled so well, and it managed to balance comedy and tension expertly.
The dialogue is really good of course, but the beats of silence are just as well-done. Stuff like Ancelin staring at the image of Moth once alone or Moth's expressions on the last page manages to say just as much as the dialogue itself.
Side note, I loved the little background gags sprinkled throughout! Stuff like the Meat Dome entrance having a dinky little lightbulb and switch and Ash's magnifying glass burning his forehead were delightful to see, lol.
I only have one small gripe - as redsky put it, it kinda felt like M2S let Satraxia and Moth off the hook rather quickly. I understand that he'd prioritize the two guys that caused most of the destruction, but I feel like he should've at least called Satraxia out on goading them into it.
But I can totally understand why that didn't happen, though - it would've just added in another page, and 23 full-colored pages is already an INSANE output! I'm honestly surprised that this was the only part that felt a little bit flat - the rest of it managed to keep up its quality super well.
Amazing work! I really hope that I get to see what's next for these two :D
Everyone put up a good showing here:
Radji and Raltz: You do a good job of conveying the anti-hero antihero's worldview, the "heroes" in this one really are causing unnecessary carnage with their petty squabbles.
Also Fish has guns!?
Dekkard and Durianknuckle: A well put together action scene, the art is beautiful, and a lot of the gags land well. However, unlike the rest, there isn't really a lot of character development or plot to speak of. You get the characters down, sure, but there isn't much being done with them.
Doefr & Footini: The combination of Footini's clean lineart and Doe's painterly colors creates a really striking effect, and the body horror makeout session magical girl transformation (Never thought I'd say those words together) is really gorgeous and unsettling and visceral. And the character writing is on point. Everyone feels like they have their own part to play, perfectly in keeping with established characterization. My one gripe is that it feels like M2S gets turned away from Satraxia and Moth a bit too easily.
