Roradraws: Stellar work! I really love just how stylish the first part of your entry is - the bright colors, black shadows, and textured edges all come together to make a treat for the eyes!
Frostbite: Bummer that you couldn't get this out in the quality that you hoped to, but what you have is pretty nifty! I particularly enjoyed how you captured the swoopyness of their tails :]
I'm so sorry that I'm losing braincells to give you something more substantial than just great comic. You drew Kezias very well and it seems like you're having fun screwing around with the current Void setting to make it your own.
Welcome both of you and congrats to you both for turning in!
@ Rora
You’ve got the sauce
One thing I really appreciate about this comic that helps it stand out from some others this round is that it really is written like a naturalistic kaiju story, complete with a human cast of regular humans doing their best to study and predict what are walking living natural (or unnatural) disasters. The cast reacts to and speaks of Kezias like they would a volcano, and the scourge of Nohuron is so clearly conveyed it makes it easy to jump right into the action when it arrives. And the action is also a Round 1 highlight here; You make these kaiju feel as large and as heavy as they look (that punch alone should be studied by the rest of the contestants). All in all tremendous effort for your first submission and excellent understanding of the assignment.
There are things you’ll want to keep in mind on improving for future comics, word balloon shape, line width, more practice with human anatomy, but these are things that will come with time naturally, I can tell you have what it takes to absorb this knowledge quickly and time permitting I really feel like you’re on your way
@ Frostbite
It’s an accomplishment to complete as much as you did even if it’s not finished, be proud in that first step, everyone can see the vision you have. Now that you have a better handle on your capabilities with a time limit, you can better budget your time for your next battles ahead and really show us more of what you got. Try aiming for shorter comics if you need to, to try and hit that “100% complete” achievement first, and as you keep practicing at it you will get naturally faster, learn shortcuts and get more efficient with your management. Like anything else it’s a muscle that gets better with practice
Even with your time restraints, the comic you got out is a lot of fun! Under better circumstances, I would've loved to see a bit more clarity in the artwork, even if that just means a second sketch. Regardless, I can still tell what's happening, and you have a great sense of form. Amazing perspective on that panel on page 2 with the low-angle Keizas, and I loved the use of gold on that last finisher.

Super cool artwork! The smoke effects were very appealing and added a lot to the fluid action. Kezias' presence affecting the environment was also a good bit of worldbuilding; shows that these creatures are tangible parts of the landscape and have effects on them. That reveal with Keizas behind Nohuron was so cool.
I forgot to mention that I find the white comic lettering text with black outlines against a neon background is really hard for me to read! I'd like to humbly request a solid black box with white text on top of it instead (or any combination of colors as long as it's got enough contrast and there isn't a lot of other stuff in between the letters).
I really liked this! I like the world building with Nohuron's lore, I like the way you depicted the heat Kezias generates, I like the contrasts between different color schemes. Fun battle and I look forward to more!
I see a ton of potential here, so I think the thing to focus on at this point is limiting your story based on how much time you'll have to develop it. If you keep doing VOID comic battles, you'll figure it out in no time I'm sure! You had a lot of the basics down and I'm sure this comic would have been AMAZING if you'd had enough time to fully complete it! I hope we get to see more from you and Kezias and that we get some work that's a little more complete in the future, even if it has to be much shorter!

@snager Thank you thank you thank you! I moreso did the color to try and see if I could! And Nohuron has been on my mind constantly since inception, I just love the idea of an evil kaiju that can portal gun everywhere, including other universes!
Rora, this was a fun read. I like how you revealed how much bigger Kezias is than Nohuron. and, Nohuron's 'death' sequence felt believable. I'm actually a little relived she's dead so Messusalem will never have to fight her! hurray! you made your opponent look really cool, esp. when his back scales open up to vent. the steam effect looked good enough, if a little artificial compared to all your hand-drawn elements beneath, but a smart time saver none the less! WILD you went with full color and a little shading, as well. your application of texture brushes is knowledge I am absorbing.
Frostbite, I can see from your sketches that you had a lot of wonderful ideas for showing scale and transitioning scenes early on. I Also appreciate the joke about wearing bunny slippers to work i think. If this was inking, or sketching, I'd like to know. if it was your sketch layer, you may have been served by finding a gloopier brush to pencil with. If it was your inks, I think you could have explored some ways to draw more with less. Like Nahuron's several sets of teeth probably only needed to be inked in detail during her intro shot. After that, you could just imply them, esp if you mix things up with some far shots. Anway, the scroll aesthetic was looking pretty cool here. did you and your opponent both agree to do scroll style? pretty cohesive, if so!
welcome to the club

This was a ton of fun to do. A lot of the comic had to be cut, but I intend to at a slower pace, refine the pages that didn't make it! Thanks for reading, everyone! C:
I loved a lot of the framing and paneling, especially how crunchy the frame outline is, just adds nice texture. The colors were fantastic too, great job!
God. Damn. I loved the sense of scale you gave this battle! Also, the idea of Nohuron being bigger and taking Kezias on at a normal Kaiju conflict size is TERRIFYING!

Keep on drawing so you can harness consistency and deliver what you hope to envision.

Good sketches, I could understand what was going on, would love to see this properly inked!
Wow Roradraws, the action was AWESOME here, I could feel the power of Kezias punch thru my screen!

Absolutely balls to the wall amazing
Nohuron put up a battle
