I had thought I knew what to expect of your artwork going into this, but you really impressed me with your crosshatch look for Sam, that is such a great standout design choice that elevates the whole product. You continue to be an exemplar for others to learn on how to capitalize on making pages resonate with however little time you might have in a crunch
You're one of my favorite artists on the site and your comics are always impressive, your sketching is amazing and the cross hatching on Sam to show the black fur is smart. that final page with the silhouettes and painting of the city is great.
This was such a cute story, I loved it. The dynamics between all the characters were such a treat. That ending was really effective at quickly going from heartwarming to ominous.
Jelly, the introduction of the idea to get a familiar on page 2 and the reveal of the sam Kaiju could have been wrapped up with Zalice just picking Sam up, then trying to transform into a magical girl. but you had to go and make it all feel more earned, didn't you. the chase scene is very engaging, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering how Sam would react to being captured. I also love the cameos at the end, (mine especially lel) and how that neatly ties up the issue of Zalice not being very neat and tidy with her chase scene. the cross hatching on Sam to indicate a solid dark color is beautiful, brobabply my favorite pencil/ink hybrid technique here. my only negative is: you said you were burning yourself out, but it just looks like you were having buckets of fun, here! could you have enjoyed yourself just as much if you had chosen a shorter story to work on?
did i mention I love the painting on the final page? the city and monsters all look so cool and ominous and kind of serene at the same time.
Fluffamus prime, thank you for coming back to give us more Sam content for the holiday. I was actually thinking about Sam earlier this month so I will count that as a premonition. I also will take both comics as somewhat Canon like this is how Sam remembers the events of the day. very cute!
Jelly I swear you are the goddess of cross hatching. It's hard to judge you for submitting pencils when your pencils look so nice 😍 This comic was really cute! I especially liked how well you depicted movement (I suspect your animation experience helps with that!), how expressive everyone was, and how pettable Sam looks 😍 the lil toe beans 🥹
Oh and of course thank you for cameo'ing my silly zombie girl 🩷 You did great with her!
Okay, I'm not loving the whole comment not sticking to the comic I just read thing, so to specify; this one is for jelly's side and my first comment was for fluff's.
Jelly, this was a really fun comic, and I loved how you portrayed Sam's fall magic! The dynamic between Tiffany and Zal was really cute.
I'm glad burnout didn't keep either of you from making a comic, I hope you're able to get some rest!

I loved a lot of this, the messy outline really was nice! I guess my only critique is to maybe use an airbrush to erase [some] of the lineart where we can see the head, arms, legs, etc but thats something if you had time for, not meaning outline at all just erasing a smidgen of stuff. But for two weeks, aye, it's great!! Other than that, Loved it a lot, enjoyed the chaotic duo in this comic.
