Selevan: Bummer that you couldn't do more - happens to the best of us, lol. But the fact that you managed to make your entry in the span of just a few hours is INSANE work! What you've managed to put out looks incredible :]
That_Tired_Artist: Cuttle Killer just being an absolute yapper is incredibly funny to me, lol. "Get a load of this guy" jokes are my kryptonite too, so I was bound to love this goofy comic :]
@Selevan, you’re a machine!! Even if it’s unfinished, turning in a comic this big in just three hours is an incredible feat. I’d love to see what you could do if you were free during the two-week deadline.
@That_Tired_Artist that was funny as heck, and Cuttle-Killer’s personality is annoyingly AWFUL, just how I imagined lmao. What a great character!!
Really hyped to read more comics from him!! Welcome to Void!
Judging as a comic you did in 3 hours after work: Not bad! I was able to understand what was happening and the compositions gave a good impression of your vision. Honest props for buckling down and trying to submit anything at all. The one thing I would have preferred for you to do in your 3 hours is start with a thinner line width from the jump, then rush back with thicker lines where needed. I think this would have helped with some monster legibility
@ That_Tired_Artist
Welcome and congrats on making the best with your time as well! I don’t know if it was intentional to have the second wall of insults from Cuttle-Killer cut off the side of the page but it was funny enough so it works. The only thing that really bugged me was the color of the stripes and splotches over Cuttle-Killer’s body, that yellow is clashing really hard with the white in a way that my monitor doesn’t like. If that wasn’t from rushing to complete, would revisit the color choice in future comics. Cuttle-Killer is one of my favorites of the roster, can't wait to see more of his antics in the future
This looks great for the time you had available and I love the rainbow effect. You'll figure out better time management as you keep doing more comics on deadlines, but you did the most important thing and submit a comic.

That end image of the kalamari was great. over time you will figure out how to better spread the panels since this page could have been potentially split up into like 2-3 pages. Also try some different fonts and getting fonts specifically for comics. Blambot is a great resource with plenty of free comic fronts you can use.

This was absolutely hilarious. Cuttle-Killer went for the jugular, goddamn. Fittingly comical ending with him getting turned into calamari, as well. Very goofy and enjoyable.

3 hours? I'm shocked you still have functioning hands after that. Fantastic use of line weight to convey depth in the environment. While I did have some issues understanding what was happening, the incredibly short timeline you were working with means I can't judge too much. Please give yourself more time in the future.

You keep pulling yourself through muck when double dipping and it's a big detriment, because sometimes you can't rely on making comics in 3 hours because you might be put in very tough and unfair situations irl. Recently I had this really horrible experience where I submitted incomplete piece of shit comic pages due to very bad health dip (like vomiting blood bad) and had to address that at the expense of working on the comic, after I got robbed of 2 weeks on working on the comic directly. You better take care or I'm gonna post intimidating gifs at you buster.

this is really good work for your first comic! I was very excited to see Cuttle-killer when you dropped them in chat, too. Such a good character flaw and unusual animal inspiration.
I'm still learning comic layouts myself but one of the things that helps a lot is to print off your comic and hold it in your hand. NUmber one, it is validating to see your comics in print. and number two, you feel like you're seeing it with fresh eyes.
just having an insult slinging match is very classic OCT banter from like 20 years ago! so it's cool to see you pick up what used to be laid down all the time.
I appreciate a good meme. however, have some confidence in yourself! you can be the progenerater inventor and author of fresh hot memes! just draw a silly picture. boom, meme fodder. cuttle-killer's insults are very creative and got a chuckle out of me. This is such a cute comic and feels so complete as well. I can't wait to see more from you! Welcome to the club!

I like how Cosette carries Spectrocrosm around in a zippered pokeball. even though it's in its sketch form, the motorcycle looks really cool. I also like the rainbow effect. I think this is more than I could have done in digital with just 3 hours! and thanks for making Cuttle-Killer look so good. They're one of my favorites!

Holy shit you drew this in 3 hours!? The lack of dialogue felt especially disappointing because I expected the Herald to have a ton of dialogue by her nature, but I'm really impressed by how nice this looks in such a short period of time! I especially appreciate that you didn't skimp on backgrounds just because you were short on time! Whether you win or lose, I really want to see more of these characters!!!

This one was funny and wholly not what I expected. I do think the panels are a bit squashed, but that's something that usually fixes itself when you do more comics. I like the personality you gave cuttle-killer and hope to see more. Nice job!

I know you didn't have a lot of time so I won't say too much, but I really can't tell what's happening in some of the panels (especially page 4). I'm glad you were able to submit something though!

This made me laugh omg. I think the panel structure would have worked much better if you just stacked the panels on top of each other and just had a scrolling format. But, really good work for someone who is not a super experienced comic maker!!!!

You got caught in an unenviable situation and I will say that you did an impressive amount of work in the miniscule time frame you had, and I know any critiques I have would have been smoothed out with just a bit more time to actually work on it

Knowing this was a backup plan instead of your original idea, this is still a solid entry and an enjoyable read. I would just like to implore you for the future to not be afraid to post unfinished comics. Sometimes even if the visuals aren't quite uo to snuff, decent writing can still win the day. You didnsay you wanted to finish your original idea and upload it later, if I remember correctly, and I definitely hope you do

This was so silly! It would have been nice to see a fight comic but this was still fun! Hope to see more from you!
