Was super looking forward to this comic as both of you have some amazing styles!
Technoalchemist: Sorry to hear about life getting in the way and sort of losing track of time. Would've love to have read the entire story you planned out. But I still understand where you're coming from and how with larger projects, it feels like you have all the time in the world, only to blink and have the deadline breathing down your neck. I personally have always struggled with time management and have to turned in some rough entries. So I can't say I have a fool proof way of getting things done. However, my best result was in the previous Wacky Races event where I simply refused to engage with any new media. By this I mean starting a new series, a new game or anything that takes time and might get sucked into. Sure, I still took some time for breaks and engaged with things I can easily put down. But if distractions are what got in your way, you just need to make a mental note to stay away from the things you know will get ahold of your time.
Snowy: An absolutely stellar entry! I've been quite invested in the story you've been telling with Yamato. Exploring this AU (which maybe isn't and instead is just a look into a tragic the future perhaps???) and seeing how it has all been shaped due to Dairyu going on a rampage for currently unknown reasons. Your inks are as crisp and stylistic as ever and I can never get enough of em! I'll admit, I was so into it that when I noticed that it was left in a cliff hanger I was a tad disappointed. But that only means that we'll be getting a proper lengthy follow up to where things left off. Keep up the great work!
TECHNO - I'm super impressed on what you could tackle in the time you had! I can totally see the effort and creativity you've put into writing 01 and his interactions with Yamato. Their personalities clash in the best way here, I LOVED the banter!
The way they struck that deal at the end? Super cool!
Don't sweat about not finishing it on time, life happens. Your passion shines through in each panel you create, unfinished or not. Can't wait to see what you come up with next when you get the time. Keep up the awesome work! <3
SNOWY - Your comic absolutely rocked! Seriously, your use of textures was on point, it really made each panel stand out. AND THE SFX ,,,I've said it before and I'll say it again: Top-notch, it totally amped up the action scenes and was very well-integrated. SO COOL how you showed 01's skeptical side against Yamato's more open personality, it created such an interesting dynamic. As usual, you absolutely crushed it with your art and I'm super excited to see more from you soon. :p
Techno - For something done within hours of the deadline, the quality you managed to put out was actually really good. I love how you depicted the side of Yamato that is a little rough around the edges. 01 is also incredibly adorable. I know you said you were unsure about the pacing. I did feel like Yamato agreeing to help 01 was a bit out of the blue. But I digress, this is still a very impressive comic for the time you got.
Snowy - your art just keeps getting better and better. I can tell how these characters inspire you and your love for them shows in every comic you put out. 01 looked really good in your style as well. This is a very interesting alternate universe you introduced us to. Love the twist at the end and I am intrigued by how different this world's Dairyu is from the one we know in Void. Thanks so much for the Raven cameo!
Techno: I know you did this in a couple of hours but your lines are pretty solid! The only thing I'll suggest is perhaps a bubble/ellipse tool for cleaner text bubbles, but again, I know you probably were pressed for time. Good effort though!
Snowy: MY DEAREST SNOWY THIS SO BEAUTIFUL!! Your lines and colors are stunning, immaculate!! I especially loved all of Yamato's lil faces, he's too cute!! I can't wait to see whatchu got planned ahead!
These two stories were a blast to read through. The both of ya did great!
Techno - life does happen and I fully understand that you did what you could with what limited time you have. I did enjoy what is shown here and the various BG shots were solid. You did good and I can't wait to see what is to come in the near future
Snowy - Damn your lines and colors are always on point. I like this story you have going on with Yamato. You done a great job on this entry and I can't wait to see more in the near future
Techno: It happens, life comes first, it's nice to see you posted what you had! Nice job Techno!
Snowy: Wow, I'm super impressive by the colors and shading, and the action too! Everything seems beautiful and professional, one of your best looking comics up to date! Hyped for the next part.
TECHNO- Great job with this! Specially considering all the things you've got going, even if pages are unfinished, it was easy to tell what was going on. I liked the composition in the panels and the timing on the character's actions and reactions was really good! Some of the dialogue bubbles in the end are a little bit confusing to follow, but it didn't make your comic any less enjoyable. 01 is a really cute and interesting character, I'll definitely keep my eye on him!
SNOWY- This is so incredibly polished and gorgeous to look at!! The way you draw clouds are always so fluid and beautiful! You really tap into your strengths whenever you depict dragons and clouds! Your backgrounds look really good. The sound effects and lettering are neat and tidy, I definitely have a lot to learn from your work! Amazing work Snowy, it shows that you put a lot of love and effort in this! I can't wait to see what Yamato gets into next!
The two vastly different Yamatos in these two comics XD And both times 01 is just like "the hell is this guy's deal???"
techno- well you couldn't finish it and thats too bad- understandable, we all been there, life just HAPPENS sometimes- but for what you have, your thumbs are pretty clean so it really wasn't even all that hard to follow.
Not much else to say since it was a bit short, mostly a lot of reacting, but I do love how expressive your style is. Hope things improve for you!
Snowy: Like. I've gushed over your beautiful linework before, the perfect swirling flow if your inks. And then you go and turn in a colour comic and I'm god damn FLOORED. They flow so beautifully and organically together, these perfect pastel shades, and they are a wonderful compliment to the lines- especially when Dairyu appears. If I tried to paint her dragon form I think she would look like some RGB nightmare lol but you make her absolutely mystical. Looking closely I can see that the gradient is made with careful brushwork... makes me wanna try to steal your techniques! It's so subtle but adds so much. I found some of the story a little confusing, like who was telling these two characters to meet, and how Yamato fixed 01's voicebox.I think maybe it might have made more sense if instead of focusing around the room for that part you showed Yamato doing something to 01 to better imply how he helped. And what a cliffhanger! We knew from a previous comic that different versions of Dairyu have destroyed different dimensions after losing her son, not recognizing Yamoto. But they're so close now... will they finally be able to speak?? STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT THRILLING EPISODE
Also? "why does he look like he shops out of a fur catalogue" oh excuse me, SANTA. =P
GREAT WORK YOU GUYS!
Techno- I really love how you depicted Yamato. He's such a lil turd! Even unpolished this was still fun to read. Seeing peeks of your traditional sketches in between is a nice view into your comicing process. I wanna see more of Yamato and 01's adventure, see where it goes and how they work together to get 01 out of the land of the dead.
Snowy- I keep saying this is your best comic yet and then you keep producing better and better ones! The colors are so vibrant but not overwhelming, nice sharp linework, I love the story, how chatty Yam is. That last page with the big Dairyu scream is so good! The panel break with the screm effect is so good!
Techno- Sucks you couldn’t get at least your penciling done, thumbs are tough to read. I like your art style though and will look at your past work.
Snowy- WOW, I don’t know how people have time to do this caliber of color comic but it was GORGEOUS! Dome of the panels confused me but it just meant I had to go back and reread so not to bothersome. Cliffhangers suck, but in a good way (like this week’s episode of Ashoka, right). I digress… loved your comic and your ink work is near flawless.
Uploaded! While it's not necessary to read the previous comic, Nightmares and Prophecy, this is the second part of three comics that make up this particular AU for Yamato. Thank you so much for the chance to battle, Techno!
