Snager: Sorry I'm too dumb for the puzzles, guess I gotta wait for the next comic aiiieeee!
Techno: It's fine. What you have is good, even if you didn't hit all the points you wanted to. There is so much I had to omit from my comics and none of them have been winners yet. As long as you can dust yourself off again and keep trying you'll be gold. Experiment with more deadlines and get a feel for your limitations and strengths.
Bad at math and puzzles, but I did get the sponge bob joke in snagers.
Tecno the way you drew the characters was super cute!.
You both went pretty hard on a 1 week deadline!
Tech: strong use of inverted color, deepening character lore while building intrigue, and also bringing it all together to advance your own established plot line. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes and how you expand upon this foundation.
Snager: unraveling episodic puzzle mystery is certainly a unique approach to a void tourney, and I commend the extra effort it takes to make a decent puzzle on top of a coherent plot line on a one week deadline. I do agree with the others that the artwork could use a bit of refinement. There's some panels that could use some.more values to break up the monotone, especially considering your looser inking style. All in all, though, I'm intrigued
Techno - I love the style of the flashback pages and the set up of the two characters. It's very cute how they're buddies! Their interactions were delightful
Snager - I like the style you used for these pages and the banter between the characters. I just wish I was better at solving puzzles because I really want to figure out the mystery! Maybe I'll just have to go back and reread and try to figure it out later!
Good job to both of you! These were both great comics to read!
Techno - Very cool setup for your next comics! Curious to see where you take 01 next.
Snager - artistic-wise some of the parts seems unfinished, if that was the style you were going for, in my opinion doesn't work. Would love to see more panels like the bottom left one on page 10.
Story-wise, you good me hooked, I love mysteries and solving riddles. And I think I cracked the riddle at the end.
--------------
Good comics from both sides!
Technoalchemist I love the 'reverse' black and white colors of the first part, and the way you establish the two character's friendship. Aw! My only confusion is that I wasn't sure at first whether the second part was a flash-forward or flashback. But That could probably be my own reading comprehension issue.
Snager! Really fun premise, loved the art (show us the not family friendly art, 01!!) Good expressiveness of the characters.
Techno - Love the white lines on a black background to indicate a flashback, and your style is very nice to look at. I would say for a title page, that adding an image or logo would be more effective than just the chapter and title, the essentially blank chapter page took me out of the story a tiny bit, unfortunately. I still enjoyed your comic, nice work!
Snager - Honestly, the 'joke' at there being so many VCV banners was unnecessary, it just comes across as mean-spirited.
The variety of angles you used and the style you used for this battle was interesting, it seems like a good use of time for effort. It was a little difficult to tell which character was which in some instances, but it was a nice comic for how much time you had to put into it. I'm hoping there's more explanation into the puzzle if you get to the next round.
