Damn, this one is gonna be really good. Both great artists and great story-tellers. Your guys' action sequences are absolutly fantastic. Can't wait to see how this goes down. You guys better not hold ANYTHING back.

Yeah, sorry about this one taking so long guys. The extension lasted even longer than I had expected it to. I really just wanted to work off of madboy's extension, but since it wasn't displayed, I was worried it was only counting for him and not me. I guess in the end we both ended up getting separate ones *shrug*. I actually did put in some extra effort with the added time though, so I hope it gets posted with my first submission eventually.

there may be an added screw-up left over from the last VOID outage, because I'm been hearing complaints about the uploader again, and a few other scripts aren't quite right... if you run into any problems, just email the pages to me.
You guys should have everything I sent off, I believe all of my pages were just sent to the council like last time. I gave up on using the uploader here since my last fight with Daku, my internet connection at home is just too slow to upload them all at once.
I didn't use the uploader, I sent them to the voidcouncil e-mail, same as I've done before. I can try to send them again, this time to toast directly, but I have to go out of town in the morning, and with how annoyingly long this takes on this slow connection and bitchy comp, I can't give any guarantees I can send them before I have to leave. Oi, I hate to point fingers, but, couldn't somebody have let me know this a leeettle bit sooner?! I wasn't even planning on coming back online tonight, I was just hoping to see this thing online before I went to sleep.
Oi, I'll try my best to send them. I'll be out of town all week, so if I can't do it now then this battle might NEVER get up, and I refuse to make these folks wait any longer!

I was rooting for you, Crazy, but the comic just didn't do it for me like some of your others have, and making Griffin looks so weak was a little disappointing.
Griffin's started out extremely good, but the ending was completely out of the blue with no explanation.
it's a back story...this was actually going to be a beyond battles entry with a totally different character all together...sorry if it was hard to follow.

u got me boosted fuu...the last 2 pages are my favorate. i wish i had more time right now to develope mercy (the girl hanging...the same girl in the last page of my p2 griffin fight...for those who don't know)...but i promise when i get the chance, she'll be up and ready to kick ass.
ive been so busy with my own battle that i have not been able to realy comment much on everyone elses but this was a battle that i waited for. the both of you guys are the main reason why i joined void.
crazy samurai i i love your writing. the laughs make me love your character even more. but i know that you are able of doing cleaner work. it seemed a little rushed, but then again i shouldnt be one to talk lol.
and griffin, i loved the whole different world different time thing it was a pleasent kick in the head, but i felt left with so many questions, but im sure the answers will be given soon i look foward to reading them. great work from the both of you. and MARBELL DENAMILISS is ready and waiting to go into combat with the both of you. i know that it will be fun. thank you both for a fun read.
thanks sketch...marbell is a bad ass fighter...sorry again for the vague<---spelling...story telling...and i don't have time to do this comic style so here's how the story goes...griffin was actually born centuries ago ( say feudal japan )...the girl he is lookin for (just look at my intro pages) was his wife and the daughter of a powerful warlord. griffin didn't know any of this and was sent to assasinate the warlord. this entry was the result of that. centuries later...present time...she's somehow alive...and he has to figure out what happened. he searches for her and comes across a picture of a girl that looks like his dead wife. he becomes a bounty hunter to support himself. the trail leads him to void city and he's here to get answers. dun dun duuuuuunnnnnnnnnn!!!! ooooh aaaaaaahhhh......
you guys are nuts! fuu absolutely rocked this one! the little side story at the end was intense. bravo bravo
griffins was a tad disappointing for me though. i guess it was the glossyish colors, but thats more of a personal thing. had some nice flow to it though

To Fuu: it was sooooooo funny how you had crazy samurai and griffin just slaughter that guy(who ever he was) and then start fighting each other (although you did make my man Griff look like just another weak punk from the street).the the penciling is actually nice, at least I like it. and the last two pages...

to Madboy: I lllllloved the story telling. the art work is definitely high quality and I could see what's going on.It was also tight how in the last panel you kinda clarified alittle more of how and why Griffin came to Void city.oh yeah hopefully my character will be up soon so I can prove myself to the alliance and to you 'cause besides mr.impossible you and sauce are like my second heroes.

Fuu : HAHAHA, I was ROLLING the whole way through reading this. VERY funny, and the action was also very consistant. I LOVE how you draw Grif, totally badass. And, in my opinion, he doesn't make Grif look weak at all. In fact, it's just a matter of making Crazy Sam look even BETTER.
BTW for those wondering, I believe the guy Sam and Grif were beating up was a joke of a fighter named Bif. 0 and 2, both defaults, and he submitted the SAME picture for all three poses. Here be his page :

Grif : Oooh sequential play. I love the concept of it all, and I especially love the costumes (especially Griffin's ninja mask). My only problem is the coloring (might just my opinion though, but I gotta agree with spikes). Pretty much everything looks like it's covered in three layers of wax the way the highlights are layed out (like on C.Sam's hakama). You should probably make a stronger contrast between shades, midtones and highlights, but who the hell am I to be suggesting these things to a teacher ?
The points go to Sam for entertainment. BOOF. XD
Wow. This was amazing. Both of you rocked the house. Although... I had to give Sam a few more points, simply because of the immense amounts of humor involved, and the lack of lens flares, which I'm surprised Spikes didn't pick up on in GRiFFiN's fight... Unless those lens flares were hand created... But they were lens flares none the less. But both fights were still... What is the word...? Oh yes... EPIC.

Fuudasha: First off, my vote is for you for you and I'll explain why! The art like everybody says could be a tad cleaner... but as far as I know it still looks great! Great line art nontheless. I was dissapointed to see just 2 pages with color on them, kinda makes me want that same color for all of these pages. But I did like the storyline, but I felt like Griffin could of been a bit more bounty hunter-ish but who cares, I gave you an A in that area! Overall this should be one of your best man!
Madboy: Unlike everybody else, I rather liked the colors, it's not a traditional medium and the lighting could of been tonned down but I enjoyed the coloring job you did on this one! The storyline wasn't as vivid or entertaining as Fuu's, but it was a great storyline nontheless. My vote could of easily gone to you as it did to fuu.
Well the wait I think was worth it! Until then, let's hope for a rematch! Keep it up or something?

Madboy, I found your colors to perfectly suit the mood, myself, and the depth of the story (Very kabuki) and backstory plottwist ending held me in awe.

Well it was admittedly worth the over extended wait.
I was drawn to read Griffin's first because of the coloring. I did't the story or ending was too ambigous. If you guys followed the characters and their fights you would notice that Griffin's story actually tied up some lose ends instead of adding any.
Either way, I thought Madboy had this in the bag until I read Fuu's. Fuudusha, your character's have some great dialogue, its not stunted or generic. I agree with some others about you downplaying Griffin just a lil bit.
All in all you guys definitly raised the bar with this one.
BEST LINE: "Watch NEWTON'S NEGRO for me!" Classic.
Both fights where VERY entertaining! I hope to one day get as good as both artist! Man... I don't know where to start... The Griffin fight was just lovey! I enjoyed ever bit of it! But when I saw my character on the second to last page I was in heaven! I wonder how my character ties into the story? I guess I'll have to wait till Griffins next fight. The Crazy Samurai fight was funny from the start! I was laughing so hard on page two and three. Both artist have excellent coloring skills. All I can say is you both get A's!

As for my entry, I gotta say, I learned so much from this one. I apologize if some of you think Grif was portrayed kinda weak, it really wasn't my intention to make him look helpless or anything, most of it was really his story anyway. And yeah, that giant walking sandbag was Bif alright. If Dan Sweet's got probs with that he can isue me a challenge anytime!
Oh man, I gotta check out the rest of these battles when I get back home, soo much good stuff. I gotta keep practicin!
Whew - this is close. I scored it a tie myself. The last 2 colored pages gave Fuu the edge in my opinion, but Madboy's was too tight for me to grade him down on anything. You both captured each others characters incredibly well. This was everything I hoped it would be. Thanks guys! LONG LIVE BIFF!
YOU GUYS ARE INSANE!! This was probably one of the single hardest fights I have EVER had the pleasure of grading on VOID. Both entries were absolutely superb.
Fu. Your writing, your lines, your angles. Everything you do is SLICK! In my opinion you've got this whole psycho serial killer vibe DOWN! I'd love to fight you sometime, but I don't know if I'd do Samurai's dark, dark nature justice quite yet. You are SO on my hitlist though!
Mad. Once again you've proven to me that you are Bacardi Lite. Not that that's a bad thing at all. Your pacing is great. Your angles are excellent. Your writing is always a breath of fresh air. The only grip I had quality wise was all the colors are a bit TOO shiny. Like the texturing on Samurai's kimono should've been different. That said, the simple fact that you consistently color so many pages in every fight as well as you do is amazing to me. You are a monster and I will totally fight you any day of the week...as long as I have time to devote to it. Anything less would be uncivilized.
Bottom line: I had to give this one to Fu. His story was just so grabbing and intense. That epilogue pushed him up and over. Great fight guys!
