Resurrection Squad Mission 1: Hand of God

oh, I forgot to write a review for my own battle. Ok, guardian squad, I had a blast with yall. I imagined Viro and Bones in top command, and it's interesting to see how you guys wrote them butting heads instead. Hearing some of the behind-scenes chaos on your side, I think it's nice you provided such an involved story, anyway. I of course liked all the manda parts. like 'oh shit, there she is!' and also i've grown attached to Pepper and was pleased to see her taking such an active role, too. Gale doesn't seem to have much agency over her powers and this is my first comic i've read about her, but it strikes me as an odd choice. I think it's funny y'all used a dog to drive emotional retort while we used the baby. Of course, the Llaana arch is there in your story, too. You could have just made that the whole story, tbh. I also heard Platinum say in VC once that our team 'pulled off the same twist better' and i guess the twist is that Bones was working for Dr. B in your story, too? Loved the way you had Manda sacrifice herself to save Pepper. I dont know if I leaked that to yall at some point or what, but I was thinking of doing something similar before the final cut. XD double fucked up then that you had Pepper die after that. And, it's clever to have given Llaana away to Bones as some kind of eldritch pet. could have been interesting to see where that went, if it stuck. res team: i was scared at first that our characters wouldn't mesh well, but they have, anyway. we got lucky and had a nice mix of loud and quiet, complex and simple designs. i've never worked in such a tight-knit collaboration before. usually just writer/artist jazz. it was extremely fun seeing how people inked my pencils or interpreted my thumbnails. Thanks for allowing me to write so much of the story, do so much layouts, and also thanks for letting me boss y'all around. turns out I like organizing people X,D sorry if I was too harsh. I know we all have irl stuff and other hobbies. thanks for having me, Kubo.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in this battle. This was a lot of fun to organize and to work on. This was my first time teaming up with a lot of you and I'll have to say it was pretty darn smooth. Collabs can be rough and while this one had its moments, I feel like everyone put in 100%. I'm excited to see who steps forward next year when Dr. B reassembles the Resurrection Squad ;)

These were both really fun "suicide mission" comics here, I particularly enjoy how wacky these two bunches of characters are, not your typical group by any stretch of the imagination. Gorgle, Special Friend, Pepper and Manja were the standout characters to me, but everyone else definitely shone as well. Personally I think Team Kusnacorrytini_Is Cool's comic was more polished than Team Mister Platinum Rikuntehprime, but they were both very competently done. And also, props to on you for getting this thing together Kubo! I love seeing grassroots collabs happen on Void

Loved all the jokes and character interaction Res squad! It was a zany read. Really enjoyed how you did Bones, new character with lil background can either be really fun or a pain in the ass. Guardians! I had a ton of fun collabing with you. I hope we can do it again, maybe with a lil more time and hopefully better internet on my end. Thanks for setting up this collab battle Kubo!
