OMG what a trip both these comics are. I got laughs all around. JustaNeens -Dang, I am impressed by this inked comic. Its simplicity and effectiveness are astounding. It looks complete and consistent. It reminds me of those comic strips I used to read in newspapers back in the day. Really neat! FredKubo - I feel like I have a lot to say but it escapes me right now. There is only one thing in my mind after reading your comic...
WHAT EVEN IS A SEX CAT?!! LMAO
Rhymes + Neens: That inkwork was INSAAAANE. The characters' expressions and dialogue bubbles are soo damn good, the dialogue itself was very funny, so I can understand why people can see it as primarily a comedy. Jpop's jabs about names cracked me up every time. Echo's shadow form was very eerie, and I'm a sucked for the supposed "comic relief" knowing way more than they let you to believe. Playing dumb and passing as just "the funny guy" while holding very crucial information is such a good element in a story, and I can't wait to see what comes of it! Really want to know what comes of Jpop and Rue, specially considering Jpop claims he's not dead Fred + Kubo: This made me so uncomfortable in the best way! It felt very nightmareish, and considering where they are, it's very very fitting. The overly cheerful and forced normalcy left me feeling chilled- I don't know how to explain it, kinda like being upside down in a very tight space. I don't know why but the tv talking to them as they are exiting the door unnerves me so much. All in a good way! Gave me requiem for a dream vibes Everyone did amazing! The voting on this one is very very tough!

Neens and Justarhymes- I love these sharp, sharp inks and the appropriate use of spot blacks. Justarhymes you cram a lot of information into a page very effectively and use the right amount of backgrounds to keep everything grounded in the space. The action in this is zany but I wouldn't necessarily call it goofy comedy, you set up the arc for the tournament and some cartoonish stuff happens throughout. I liked Jpop's reactions to the on-the-nose names and when Pepper gets possessed briefly by his ghost. Neens I am jealous of your clean as heck lines and I love Rue, hope to see more... Fred and Kubo- The colors in this re really great. I like how the sitcom is red on green and the hell with the telly is green on red. Plus when Jpop and Rue come through they still stand out and interacting with Lucy look like they're being tormented by whatever hell-torment-trial this is. I didn't really notice the studio audience laughter and clapping until the second read through though and that's a funny addition, that maybe could have been pushed more. This was quite fun!

@Justin: there are definitely some dark tones in the comic, but you can't have JPOP talking about people stealing his dick over and over without the whole comic reading like a goofy comedy haha. I do think there's a degree of us expecting it from you too, which I guess just sorta happens? I'm looking forward to you exploring more dark and serious stuff for sure! I'm personally a huge fan of combining horror and humor, and to me this comic read as mostly humor, but I did still really love the horror elements, especially with Rue's dark magic ritual on Pepper.

Ok, so I'm going to try and comment on all of the TTT comics. Starting here, since I've read these the most: Fredubo: Mad props for being able to tell a confined story that is easy to follow, makes sense, and doesn't take up an unnecessary amount of pages. The longer I am away from Void, the more impressive short stories like this become. Even though I am interested in what could have been, what I got is still pretty solid. The art is pretty nice. Areas I would call out would be backgrounds and face consistency. Some more love with these area, and this would be pretty top notch. Maybe layout as well? The flow was really nice, though, so maybe not. The story was interesting. The idea behind it was very creative and executed pretty well. I do feel something was missing, but I'm not really sure I could point that out at the top of my head. Sort of related, I found your version of JPOP pretty interesting. It was sort of a blend of "classic" mid-2000s JPOP and a cynical old man trope. Perhaps tapping into some of his chaotic energy would have helped in this environment? Justneens: I have been critiquing myself on and off my last few battles, but I honestly don't have much. Neens, you executed this nearly perfectly, and made my art look good for once. It was such a satisfying feeling to see that. I don't really have much to add for improvement.. maybe the white outlines could have been a little thicker? they looked fine on the hi res pages, but a little thin once uploaded. And, me.. while I am super happy with the layout and flow, I probably could have added a few more pages and given some areas more room to breathe (I was concerned about destroying neens wrist, which I managed to do anyways). As alluded to earlier, I also maybe should keep working on serious and dark tones with a sprinkle of light humor, as everyone is still under the assumption that everything I do is supposed to be a knee-slapping, laugh riot. Perhaps I've just been typecast, tho.

Bobo: As a goofy comedy comic
I must admit I’m a little confused about the takes of this comic being goofy or even a comedy. I guess I’ll take it, though :D

Neens/justin Really neat and tidy work here! Your comic was very readable and the characters were consistant throughout. I feel like you must both have had lot of fun creating it. Some humour wasn't to my taste, and I felt 'left out' of some jokes in places, but overally it seemed like a happy, silly and good story. Nice! Fred/kubo Sorry to hear about what happened! Despite this, you've submitted a fully finished comic - which isn't easy. Great job! Lineless isn't an easy style to pull off, but this was still readable and interesting. Your font seemed like it was maybe crushed in on the sides and I had to squint to make it out in places, so maybe next time you could try to relax it outwards a way? Really good work overall!

Justarhymes/Neens - Agree with Bobo, these inks are very lively and full of character. Even though the comic was all black and white, I never felt disorientated or lost, everything was very clean. The jokes were kinda odd in that I read them knowing they were intended to be funny, but they didn’t hit me personally. Fred/Kubo - Loved the title page! The concept of a cursed tape that just drags people into a sitcom instead of killing them or something is great, and I enjoyed this vibrant, lineless style. I won’t comment too much on the story since one of you was out of action, but there was a little visual thing that really bothered me. Bub’s tail looks like a butt plug, it’s positioned as if it’s coming directly out of his ass. Was this intentional for humour? Was Bub wearing fake cat ears and a tail this whole time? PS So sorry Fred :( Hope everything is okay now.

JustNeensJustin's writing always makes me nostalgic, and Neens, your inks are so smooth and full of personality. I can't really describe it, but I can always tell your inks because they have a certain character, and I love it. As a goofy comedy comic, I didn't expect you to be super faithful to any of the characters, but I loved how you expressed each of their personalities. I love how this is a continuation of a bunch of unfortunate events happening to Pepper, and how JPOP continues to be ridiculous in the best of ways. Rue's casual dark magic is also amazing and I'm still sad she and Sludge never got to meet during that SDT. I feel like I've read funnier comics from Justin, but I can't really point to anything that didn't work here, so maybe it's just nostalgia speaking. I love the goofy nature of this comic, including the escalation of events underscored with them being too on the nose or seemingly coming out of nowhere. I really want to see what happens next in this zany adventure!
FruboThat sucks that that happened, Fred, and my heart goes out to you. I hope your family is doing better now. This was still a fun comic, and I love how well all the bizarreness in Lucy's and Pepper's lives fits the wackiness of JPOP and Rue. I wish there were more to this comic, but sometimes life just be like that. Pepper and Lucy OTP forever!

neens: should be all uploaded! for this comic, justin did the lion's work of writing and pencils. and I inked!
This site makes me fucking nostalgic sometimes and I Hate and Love it . I didn't see this comment before, but whilst reading this comic I seriously thought to myself "OH, How I've missed some Dawgmastas Writing!!!" These were BOTH great creative efforts illustrating the absurdity of the circumstances by which characters can meet in Void, and I Love that! Justin, Nina, That comic was clean as FUCK! The writing was smooth, natural ,and punchy on all the right beats. I knew exactly what was going on and very much enjoyed your contrast and backgrounds. If I had any critique, I would say some of the panels were a little tight , but that's it. My favorite parts are J pop getting pulled out of a nose, the way lucy first arrives. and the flash back with the Knife. I WANT MORE OF THIS! Fred, Kubo, by this point I think it's fair to say you are usually very funny, the writing in this felt like Fred's except I guess the jokes fell short for me (whatever my expectations were) I don't know, it's like: Your favorite comedian tells a flat joke ,but you know you're gonna watch his next special, because you enjoy his work. the cover is cool and perfectly reminiscent of an old 90's VHS cover, reminds me a little of saved by the bell... Overall, it's a well done comic, I gave you guys a 10 for creativity. I like that the panels are more boldly outlined than the characters, It drives home the watching a tv screen feel. nice work but Neens and Justa juss got me.

if there's anything good about this comic the credit goes to kubo cause we ran out of meds and barely able to pick up the fucking pen for most of this.
