Katsuraky: Your colors are great and so our your character expressions. I like how your also adding your own villians into this. I read this like 4 or so times but i only just now noticed the "Night 6" and "night 32" and i was confused by the second page at first so maybe making elements like that more prominent could help as they were easy to gloss over. But besides that writing this is a great comic and 9 pages in one week is amazing. Good job and I look forward to seeing more.
Petrichor: Gut Smasher is great and every expression you do for her is a delight. I also love the humor of her just throwing the coupons and byte just not reacting is great. one crit I have is your speech bubbles all look like they have a couple more control points then need be which make them look off and not smoothly round, just a quick thing to be careful of and make sure to clean up for battles when you have longer deadlines. I also really wanna fight Gut Smasher at some point.
Petrichor, fun, quick setup! I enjoyed the simplicity of the story in this one.
Katsuraky, your colors are vivid and your lighting is fun, reading that comic was visually an absolute delight on every page. And it was also really interesting how you chose to have the two characters interact. Then incorporating some of your own overarching story into the end there, I'm definitely curious to see where Malbyte goes in the future!
KATSURAKY- Right off the bat what a fun pose on the couch to start with. Also so many pages AND full color? BEAST MODE. I especially dig the transformation panel with Malbyte pushing up her glasses. You got the good building blocks for action sequences here, but I'd definitely recommend looking up some more dynamic angles.
PETRICHOR- Your work gives me less comic vibes and more storyboard vibes- which is usually ok, but I feel you aren't really pushing details and elelments that make this a full fledged comic. I wish your background and extra elements had the same TLC you give the main characters you showcase. It's clear you go ham on Malbyte and gutsmasher, but your crowds and buildings are to simplistic to provide a proper world for them to be interaction in. I definitely hope to see you punch that up in your next battle.
Katsuraky: Oh, I love the shapes and gestures of your characters. So much energy and personality. Also, oh no my heart how dare you. This was a good intro.
Petrichor: Gut Smasher is too precious. It seems the characters just encountered each other, which is... within the rules, but a missed opportunity. They are drawn well, with a lot of character. The minimal backgrounds kind of stand out, though.
What a fun couple a' comics!
KatsuraKy, I love your use of color to set a mood. It's something I wish I were better at, so seeing it pulled off is awesome. I was also a little confused if Byte could become MalByte in the real world, but that's been soundly answered The only thing that bugged me was how quick the relationship between Gut Smasher and Byte escalated, but I recognize that as a limitation of the one week format. All in all, a very solid- heywaitwhodis?????
Petrichor, there's some really good comedy in the expressions and poses you've got here, especially Gut Smasher's. It was a little short, but it was just long enough to let me know what kind of fun to expect from your comics. Small tidbit, not really a problem, hair actually can't be used for DNA tests, unless you also get the hair follicle. It's a comic, so it's fine to bend that rule, but it might be funny to see Gut Smasher try to talk her targets into a proper cheek swab or something!
OMG I´m in love with both of your entries.
You both managed to have a fun theme going on so it was an overall fun read.
Katsuraky you really did great on the quality front. very fluid and expressive style/use of bodylanguage. I´m just in love how much style this expresses. And you build up their friendship charmingly. Very cool.
Petrichor i hope you manage to push your quality more next time. I´m sure there is some polish you add to this giving it more depth. Your entry was super funny on a slapstick level but given that there wasnt really much happeneing between the two aside from guts jumping on byte this was a little shortlived.
Anyways this is easily one of my favs this first round.
These were both very enjoyable! Great job to you both. Katsuraky: cranking out 9 full color pages in a week is crazy impressive! Petrichor: Fantastic story telling and great expression on your characters. Not to mention, funny! I wish you both luck in getting passed this fight. It's gonna come down to the wire, I'm sure.
Both of the comics are so, so good!! Gut Smasher and MalByte work so well together, it's a joy to see them interact!
Katsuraky's colors are super pleasing, and Petrichor's plot and characterization is adorable, love it!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAH

i want you to know i was smiling the entire time while reading it. and oh i'm digging that friendship (or more?) between them so much <3
katsuraky i'm loving everything about your comic, i mean, 9 fully colored pages in a week is a LOT, i'm sorry i didn't get the time to color mine...
(oh i lol'd so much at byte's "of course i am" "and kinky" djhfakjhkj what a sassy nerd <3)
