I didn't care for these so much, the super random humor isn't working. and I know these are one weekers but they aren't particularly strong, art-wise.
good job on the first battle though! and color, nice. the action lines in the first panel are confusing, watch out for that. they're completey parallel to the buildings, and also the same line width.
tdk, mind your speech bubbles and your bgs.
Byth1: I'll forgive you since it's your first battle for a plot I've seen far too many times. That being "you bumped into me! WE MUST FIGHT!!!!"
Remember that your comic doesn't always have to be your dude vs their dude... The conflict in your comic doesn't always have to be your opponent. You also could swap out Meridia for literally any other character and it would have been the exact same comic. So, I'd suggest next time trying to think more about your opponent's character and possible ways to make them interact in an interesting way.
TDK: Nice use of dolphin here. I like that your panels and poses are getting more dynamic, other than that I can only offer you my usual comments about line quality, etc etc etc. Also, weird ending?
@jba: My process is drawing everything in passes. First I pencil in characters and important background details for kall pages, then ink those in, and then go back and fill in additional backgrounds/details and spot blacks/shadows. Then after scanning it all in, I do cleanup all over again, and finally put in the dialogue.
Only this time, I'm forced to use a program I'm unfamiliar with, plus working with paper that's not DoubleA Premium A4.
Both really funny; I'm pretty excited to see how silly everyone that goes up against Bagman is going to get in future.
Byth: There isn't anything more I can say that wasn't said already, but I am definitely excited to see what you can do with more time in the future!
Ten: Out of curiosity, what's your process? The lineart looks kind of rough; do you do it traditionally and then scan? I'm not really one to talk (my lines are really rough/sketchy), but here they look fairly messy. Great work though, you used a lot of dynamic angles so it still felt really alive despite the line-funkiness!
@Hob, Ok, I get what you mean. I wasn't really used to working on a time limit, probably overestimated what I could do in a week. Thanks, I'll remember that.
Byth1:
Your comic was fun to read and you're good at drawing silly and funny, but start watching your form. The wacky is fine, but some of the drawings just didn't seem as nicely done/clean as they could have been. The art looks like it was drawn FAST which isn't a bad thing (necessarily) but I think you could improve if you took your time. Like, for a totally finished, colored, detailed comic this doesn't look as professional as it has the potential to be.
Ten Dead:
I'm surprised I like such a short comic- but this was really funny and you had everything you needed, so well done! The empty space on page 4 isn't really working for me only because my eye is drawn to it since it's an even 1/6th of the page. Maybe having the panels a little less equal/symmetrical would help; it makes looks like something is missing and not really an "end".
these were both delightfully silly XD I enjoyed that haha. Byth, you've got good movement and expression, everything is sorta of over the top and its kind of cartoony and great! I would work a bit on line variation as your backgrounds and foregrounds have the same line width which makes them a bit indistinguishable, and thats especially apparent on your effects. The layout of the word balloons on page five got swapped around so that was confusing for a second, wanna make sure the eye smoothly flows across the page in the right order. But great first comic, Bagman looks like a fun guy, and a comedy character is always enjoyable! Welcome to Void!
TDK, I like how you used the dolphin, and then immediately got rid of it! There was good comedy in this, especially in the dolphin's expressions! as usual, excellent black and white, though that last panel being a big white square made me wonder if you were going for something and then changed your mind lol. overall, I liked it!good comics you guys!
