Sorry about this you all. I still lack organization with my time when it comes to comics VS exams.
I thought I could handle it. It's fun when reality strikes.
You're being too nice to me, Tofu, and I don't deserve it. Thank you.
I'll try to finish this comic as a Beyond Battle after I am done with Lesdai's current comic.
TOFU - I really enjoyed your comic, your inking is bold and it fits your style gorgeously. I loved Paavo's transformation sequence and the action throughout the comic. Very dynamic and as always I love your silent comics.
I don't know if it was mentioned already but Page 5 seems extremely big/won't load. Maybe it is just me. Ahaha.
Best of wishes for your M-Zero comic release. Looking forward to it!
Thank you for the feedback, everyone! I am intending to go back and hit this with tones and shading--this is going to be an insert in the print issue of M-Zero-Oh volume #1, which will be made available first at Power Morphicon!
Thanks again to Elgesugha for letting me play with your character!
Elge - Not much to judge on, but the first page would have really looked more complete with some more background details. Make the next comic count!
Tofu - Some of your layouts were both ambitious and confusing, page 3 and 4 beiing examples where things sort of run together too much and there's no background to get a good sense of what the action is. Seeing a silent comic was admirable, because it didn't seem like you just ran out of time for dialogue--it felt like it was meant to be. I suggest shading next time, and also backgrounds. It'd push your art to another level :D Nice work here, and I'm looking forward to more from M-Zero-oh!
elge- bwaa bwaa. would've liked to see what you had been planning.
tofu- i like how gestural your inks are and how they pull the reader across the page. this comic is full of nice action-y poses and lines that are easy to read... i was worried because it seemed like your character was too overpowered but the reveal that that was the joke at the end made me smile! good job.
ELGE- Don't really know what to say. Two pages? Don't really know whats going on, or if there was more to it. All around puzzled.
TOFUBEAST- Right of the bat, I wish there was some defining shading, or grey scale to your inks. Maybe even go heaviero n the blacks as there's so much white space and I had a time telling characters apart from speed lines, backgrounds and elements. I did enjoy the action however, and even the playful twist at the end where you find out its a videogame. Nice charming romp between pals. :)
@Rob: Thank you for your feedback! I was worried that it was kind of hard to follow--I'm planning on going back and hitting the panels with more tones/shading so stuff stands out better.
Runback and counterpick are words that you'll hear in competitive gaming, usually in the fighting game community.
Runback/Salty Runback: basically a rematch. The loser's gonna "run it back" and try and win in the rematch.
Counterpick: a tactic in which a player will pick a character that does well against another character after their opponent has selected said character. Some call it "scrub tactics", some call it a legitimate strategy.
My entire entry is saturated with fighting game references, I apologize.
Elge- Seems like this is a tag to another story? And I have no idea how the thing on the second page relates to the story. Though it does look really cool, with the black. Art-wise, it seems sort of empty, with just the lines. And for some reason, it really bothered me that none of the panels show the guy's face. I thought it was a setup or something for an epic face reveal, but nope.
Tofu- It was pretty to look at, but I found it sort of difficult to follow. I like how you set it up as playing a video game. though I don't understand what they're saying on the last page (runback? counterpick? what?), but I think I get the jist of it.
Generally, sort of underwhelming. But good job, both of you getting them out on time.
Uploaded. I haven't uploaded comics in a while, I hope this actually went through. D :
Elge, please make sure to take care of yourself and don't worry too much!
