Wow. Wow wow wow.
Wow.
I can't really crit just one side of this comic, because they flowed so seamlessly from one to the other. The color scheme was even very similar, which made for a smooth transition. I loved both of your facial expressions. Del's were a little more exaggerated, but Crackalacka, you did an awesome job with your more traditional expressions. I felt the emotion from both characters in both comics, and it was chilling and engaging.
CrackingSkulls: I love the way you used your colors to bring out the feeling of each character and the mood of the comic in general. Del, your use of light and shadow was both haunting and beautiful. You both had great backgrounds, setting a perfect ambiance for the story. I also loved how you were able to further both characters' personal storylines without feeling like each half was trying to take over the other one (like many two-part comics I've seen before).
In short: bravo, you two! I hope I get to see a lot more from both of you. :)
So rich, so engaging. Love on both sides for sure. Not to mention those were some great scars! I can see these two wowing fawning fans over how they got it, haha! Technically I loved the background as well. If I had to choose one, I'd go with Delya's since they felt like they had personality. It was definitely an environment and background that felt lived in and gritty. I especially loved the page where Jimmy's face is all in shadow and his glare is the only thing you see. Crackingskulls had some really sweet lighting as well. The spotlighting and gloominess of the building Xia explores really adds to the spookiness. Awesome stuff.
Great work you two-you definitely used your 4 weeks to the fullest.
it's been a while since I've seen a good cohesive 2 part battle. Excellent line quality from both of you, as well as the limited color palletes. the blue in both of the comics really helps bring both comics together.
As for the story, I felt like it might have been a bit too simple and straight forward, but the pacing, panel layout, and dialogue of both comics made up for that by being engaging and interesting.
BRAVO!
Radical guys. You both did awesome. I loved the tones and the finished-ness of yours Flame, it was pretty rad. The limited colours were great! Del I also liked yours as well! There was just a few parts that felt really rushed though, but it's all cool since this is still really rad.
Wicked battle guys!
