Jeez, no one IS commenting. Well, let's fix that.
Justin: Nice to see Jingles again.
I agree about the turtle. We really should of had Jingles exclaim his name or something at some point in the conversation. Especially given the new people we've had in the last (what is it now, 3?) years. I also think I would have liked a little more Sonny interaction, but maybe the next fight you do will have some since it seems like Sonny is going to help Jingles. The story was a bit light, but what you did, you did well.
I've always been keen on your color choices and this is no different. I think I would have liked less subtle shading, though. Maybe something darker or more solid would have worked a lot better vs. the soft shading you did. The style you've been working with lately is simplistic and in a fun way. I'm a fan of the cutesy rubberhose style, it's working for you. However, I think more detailed backgrounds would really enhance the quality and would play off of the characters really well.
I'm interested to see Jingles return. Hopefully it doesn't take another 3 years wait to continue the story. Good job.
Ernesto: I really liked the change of pace. It seems like you've been torn between wanting to do other shit and maybe not knowing what to do with Sonny in regular Void (which is fine). This was a fun comic though, loved the ending. The anime high school setting is sort of ho-hum to me usually, but I liked what you did with Jingles a lot, so I was happy with it.
Your art's getting better, definitely feels like you're getting a better grasp on anatomy for sure. Make sure you try your best to fill out those blacks though. Even if the rest of it's unfinished, filling in that black space is really important. Your backgrounds felt a bit phoned in. I would really recommend pulling in a ruler, even if you're inking, because it ends up looking like you free handed everything. Good practice, but I wouldn't rely on doing only that.
I think you should try also doing your panels on paper. However, you also told me you like drawing without the panels and constructing it digitally. So, if it works for you that way, then that's good enough for me. Just make sure that that isn't becoming a drain on your time. Also, I dunno what's been happening for you lately but it seems like you've been either shooting too high or just getting swamped with real life stuff. Maybe pull back a bit next time and try to focus on delivering a more complete looking product, because you can do some nice inks when you get a roll going.
I liked this comic though. It was fun and I think I'd like to see a return to the setting one day in the future.
Since no one else is, I will start this out:
Ernesto: Your comics have gotten so much better from when you first started. Your work reminds me a bit of Max (in the good way). Artwise, and this may be a bit hypocritical since I rarely use them, I think your background would benefit a lot by using ruler. I think that would bring your comics to a whole new level. What resolution do you scan at? If it's not at least 600dpi, I think you should up it up some. It'd help your lines out some. At first glance, it comes off as if you are afraid of drawing anthros, I really like the idea behind this comic, and a high school being alt world Void. I think Creatively, you've trumped me big time. My only real complaint is that you totally should kept Jingles 'stache.
Me: New Jingles is the funnest, but you have to find a way to consistently draw his ridiculously big head. It seems to shrink as the comic goes on. I feel as though your characters are much stronger than your BG in this comic. I think the soft shading generally works well for the characters, but maybe the background could have used a different type of shading? I also think your introduction of the turtle was a bit abrupt. Especially because most people won't remember, recognize, or know who he is. He's only had a brief appearance before, if I remember correctly. Speaking of things people won't understand, I wish you fit in something wacky that all could appreciate, instead of a couple subtle jokes.
