@RTV
hehe 'Not planned well' is understated *giggle* It was a great experience to have you as my first opponent in void. Thank's for your warm welvome :)
You're comic looksvery well and I adore the way you drew and performed tanya. It was an honor to have you as my first opponent.
@Dalarminus
Yeah this style colouring needed a few days more to get good :P. Thank's for the kudos
@AJ
It's nice to read that the colouring appealed to someone. I would like to try myself in extending and advancing this way of colouring but I'm afraid it still needs a lot of work.
Yes I used a textured background (build with different Textures and brushes) and a special brush für the colouring. I'll try to add more details on my Bg's, I agree with you that this is still a weakness in my work. Thank's a lot for your critique!
@Kent Miller
Thank's for your friendly welcome :) Hehe you're so right with the opposite aspects. I think this is one point that made the collab so very challenging for RTV and me. I wasn't aware that I'm so focused on 'quiet moments' but in retrospective I agree with you. Hopefully I'll learn in Void how to take action moments into scene.
@Njhinesjr
The colouring seemed a big loss in my comic which made me a little bit sad and left me in surprise. With a week resting and rejection I realize the weakness in this experiment. Unfortunately I took the style question too lighthearted. A Diploma at the back of my mind and only a few days of effective working time is not the right moment for discovering new ways of style. I think an artist needs to fail to get better so I take this as a lesson and try to make it better next time :) Storywise you're right. Unfortunately the collab and the chaos in our planning forced me to make some compromises. As RTV said this was an experience for both of us.
Ok. I have this habit of voting before I comment, often time constraints I guess. Here's my two cents.
F3E: After coming back to take a critical look at your entry has me inclined to change the habit I mentioned in the former statement. Your handle on anatomy is impressive and refreshing to see. I like the handle you have on backgrounds as well, although the monotone coloring style makes it difficult to see just how good you are. The arial view was cool and the whole tone and visual feel of the comic had me reminiscing about the old "Wolverine/Havoc" crossover. Very well done. Entertainment-wise I feel we didn't see the best from you yet; the entry pages hinted at an edgy and interesting character which didn't fully come across in this entry. Good effort overall.
Rtv!: As usual your visual dynamics are enviable. I especially enjoyed the execution of RTV! disarming his opponent. Your motivation shows in this effort. Not sure about the HUGE 24-ish diplays of the timer, but the desired effect was not totally lost. Action packed from start to finish made this a very exciting and enjoyable read; the "something inside you" line had me laughing....not easy to do. Kudos!
wow - I'll have to go more in depth later, but man - really stunning work on both sides.
I think where you are both strongest is actually in opposite aspects. F3E, you convey the quieter moments so effectively, and there's a stillness to your work. Not in a way that makes it boring, but in a way that draws you in. I like that. I think next time it'd be great to vary your color scheme, but this was a great first comic on Void! Welcome!
RTV, you have really good action skillz. By that I mean that things seem to be in motion, alive, and the pacing of your story was very...kinetic I think may be the word. I'd like to see this quality of linework combined with color in the future, but I applaud your work here.
Yo, impressive battle you 2,congrats.
F3E - nice application of the color you chose, it gives a nice, harmonious effect to the comic.
I think you used some textures too, but i'm not sure...anyway, those pages are really smooth.
I see you have got a good sense of anatomy,perspective,..nothing to point, but i would love to see you put a bit more detail in your art ( mainly because the naked walls outside, or the clean streets :/ )
Anyway, nice production, man!
Rtv! - Man, I'm glad to know that Rtv still says " FU--" with 2 Ks :)
jokkes aside, i always loved the way you can put enough info with the images, each page very balanced in that sense ( I've seen only a few people here on Void doing that,mainly the veteran guys )
Your camera angles and anatomy are very dynamic, as usual, and getting more consistent.
It's nice to know Rtv! is back, bro
I got nothing more to say...good luck to both sides!
Got to say that was a nice read, story is interesting on both parts, quality suffered a little on both of you, rtv's line work was jagged in a few places and I don't know if I like the way the colors worked on f3e's but thats just a style choice that doesn't look appealing to me but overall very nice work to the both of you kudos
No no no. F3E don't get to worried. We're just messing around in the comments. Sparring is a new thing and since people just like going "GET YOUR BALLS UP AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN" it just leads to everyone acting like this out of boredom.
Nothing to worry yourself about.
*scratches her head* erm...didn't know that a sparring match is that unpopular...just thought it's a relaxed oportunity to draw a comic. Hrmm..seems there is a lot to learn about the unwritten void-etiquette. Maybe there is a chance to convince you that even 'sparring matches' can be fun to read ;)
