humm i don't really have much to say, but Fern, I think your line work has gotten cleaner than before which is always good, but make sure to fill in those panels with more backgrounds. I did like how you using a very thin brush for them so things were easier to see. The story didn't pull me in as much as I would have liked, but overall, this was simple and decent :3
Pelicaaaaa, I will always be a fan of your comics I swear haha You've got some great jokes and I love how they never sound forced and they're just natural. They flow really well. And those expressions, they're hilarious all on their own! They're so different too. Your lines have gotten a lot better too, but there's still some tidying up you have to do. Some lines looked bit too faint. I loved that ending, like the going from the chaotic and loud to the very calm and creepy. It was perfect for me :D Glad you're still sticking around!
XD Lol, thanks! Though I'm not really sure what you mean by leveling out the blacks... I'm guessing making it all one black color or solid? x_x Just wanted to be sure. And now that you guys mention it I do see some areas where I can see the strokes I did with my marker ;_;
Pelica- HILARIOUS!!! your character animation kinda reminds me of 70's wb cartoons very nice...I agree that your blacks seemed a bit weak and need to be leveled out...maybe its a resolution thing I can't really tell...
Fern- honestly I couldnt really follow this comic I didnt really know what was going on. I got the whole fighting over the seat...but all the action didnt make sense to me. Inks wise I think you are a strong inker you need a stronger balance of your blacks to white.
good job both of you
Fern, in your BW comics, your lineart seems a little empty, maybe cuz you're more used to coloring, but my advice here would be to push your blacks. Your backgrounds are too light, while in this case it works because we can focus on the thicker (by comparison) outline, I think you could benefit from suggesting shadows more (there's a big lack of them) since you don't crosshatch or anything.
Pelica: I love your character and your comics, they're really emotive and I like that. Your grayscale use was great here. I think you could use a little more clean up, with your outlines and in some places the blacks are kinda weak and need some more levelling.
Pelica: all that botox...
ZigZagZero: I suppose you're right with the character introducing. Like, wolverine was introduced at the beginning of almost every storyline in the older comics :P I suppose I spent so much time studying Pelicas character that it all seemed quite obvious to me. But I think What I'd do if i didn't understand anything is going back to the character desciprions etc...
Mister Kent: Cheers, glat you enjyed it :)
Fern:
Aaahaha, Pelica, yours is SO AWESOME! I really enjoyed it like TONS!!!! Hahaha, Beethoven so should get her a fake ID for times like this.
XD Rofl!! It probably wouldn't be that hard for him to get her one either... "Seriously, she doesn't look 21!" "D: The unfortunate side affect of twelve too many plastic surgeries." "Oh. Sorry."
@Zig: X3; Oh, sorry! I'll try to keep that in mind x_x
@Kent: XD Ha ha, thanks!
Well these characters are certainly out there. In both cases I found the story hard to follow. The art work was good and easy enough to 'read' though could have been more percise and detailed. I liked the black and white, it gives definitition to each page. As far as the story goes, with characters so unique, I feel it is nessary to give a history somewhere in the story about them. You dont what anytime someone who are unfamiliar with a character to half to read a history but, that is just my opinion. However after reading each bio the story made more since. Not my cup of tea, but hey, good jobs!
Loves the comics - close match!
Fern - Your story setup was really creative and cool, and I liked the fishy
Pelica - I enjoy how you draw Lophii and all the stuff with Aesimi was just great
Hehe, thanks everyone!
I sure hope we both can handle 2 at the same time.
I suppose it's either being brave or stupid. It's certainly the latter in my case ;P
