Pi-- For the first few pages, with the scrying and the scorpion in blood, it was cool and I liked it. After that, things took on a sort of cliché action movie turn, especially the lines \"If you hold still... it will be quite painless\" and then later, \"I'm going to kill you slowly..\" I mean what villian hasn't uttered some variation of these lines before? The citizens attacking and then being eaten/killed was fun, though.
Artwise, I think you may need to work on faces and heads; anatomy wasn't too stunning... that was mentioned, however. But your inks seemed pretty good; my favorite page was #3 with the blood-scorpion, that was really nice..
ColUssus-- this was a ride, you really know how to tell a good story. Art-wise it was pretty solid and I don't have much to complain about, except that sometimes the perspective was a little off and anatomy occasionally inconsistent. Also, I'm not sure that that cutaway in the middle to the furry dudes was necessary. It didn't have anything to do with the story that wasn't explained at the end.
Coral hands down, why? Storywise it was just beautiful, she's not bound by the superman syndrome, Coral isn't invincible, her opponent actually gets the upper hand at times, she gave alot of credit to the Dr.Pye which made the conflict way more interesting to read than simply seeing Coral turn Uber Nano Mecha powerful and beat the living snot out of Pye from the start. Also, Pye was in character, a power hungry scheming necromancer who would do anything to take over the world, ANYTHING including unleashing a power that's nearly destroyed the whole town before. So storywise, Coral's part was just great. Artwise, the only bugger would be more detailed backgrounds but considering the amount of work already added to it, no need to overload it.
Pi:Kinda like what i said earlier on, please give your opponent some more credit than that. Go checkout her past stories and use these to inspire your fight. A character like Coral cannot be trashed so easily, not after all that battle experience lol. Artwise, start using some straights to balance all these curved lines. If you go all curved lines your drawings will look weak, without solidity and mushy. Adding some cross hatching could give your work some more solidity, not just hatching, cross hatching on the faces, clothing and all, ull need to know your lighting well but hey, that comes with time and studies. In the mean time Keep going.
Oh Btw, Awesome battle Pi! Best work I've seen from you! And I love seeing Jess getting beated down, hahahaha XD But I really wonder what kind of scar she got, but I know it has something do to with her arm, I dunno which though! Anyways, awesome battle Pi!
Pi, I was disappointed we couldn't have seen the damage afterwards, real bummer. I loved the 'blood work' for the scorpion. that was pretty boss. You gotta start working on the make up of your faces though, noses were a bit too close to mouths in some spots, but for the most part, this has been best work we've seen from you so far, if I do say so myself.
Col, your entry was great, excluding those small things I told you about in AIM, just for reiteration, some of the focus of the eyes seemed misplaced and off. But, like Pi, best work we've seen from you.
Good job You guy's. Wish I could have seen the slaughter at the end of PI's ... Colossus... most impresive.. Look forward to more stuff from bot of you.
