Doodle - Awesome, I like the R/B/W coloring, but be careful combining traditional inks with computer since it gives a kind of messy feel. Next time you might consider lettering by hand or cleaning up the boarder edges, eh?
Pi - Dramatic panels! Yea yea, it should read \"To be continued\" instead of \"Finished\" because by gosh I wanna know what happens next....!
doodle-this looked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than your old battles so it was a huge step up! I think you could have shrunk the pages down a little more, the size they are at the moment makes it hard to read. I liked that you didn't really rely on dialogue much, the definitions carried the story effectively. I think maybe the definitions could have had a more professional dictionary looking font, it loses the feeling of being a definition when you use fonts like the bottom of page 3. The dialogue itself needs a better font, http://blambot.com is a nice place to go for free comic fonts that are easy to read. Please do more like this in the future, the markers looked very nice!
Pi-oh man you set me all up with that sexy first page and then the quality went down a little with the next pages. It would have been cool had you just toned the pages or just used some grays for shadows. I would have loved to see you do more pages inked like that first panel on page 4, it's dynamic and a lot more lively than your usual stuff. To do the entire battle like that would have added to the dark atmosphere of the comic. I did notice a few anatomy issues here and there, mainly the large picture of Pinn on page 7 really stood out, the neck is looking kind of too massive for her body. Other than that I liked what you had going here, the story was nice and I look forward to seeing where it goes.
awesome battle. It was kinda difficult to choose. and I think that while the dhaphnir had a very noir like battle with the heavy borders Pi did go the extra mile with backgrounds. Keep it up dudes/dudettes!
Doodle: VERY cool concept going on here. I liked the definitons and the whole set up. Your art could have been clearer even though I understand your going for a messy style.
Pi: Yay, I like the Doctor, he is cool. I like the stories you have. Your art is getting better, cleaner lines here and there. More details and interesting shots would be nice and more anatomy work would be good. Excellent, thank you for the read.
Thanks for the comments guys.
sorry for the lack of clarity in my side. I guess I wanted to do a /finished/ comic this time round. and I wanted to try something diffrent from some of my other stuff. but Ill do better next time.
and pye, I loved your side of the comic. <3<3
I had no friggin' idea what was happening in your fight, Pinn. Your lines all blurred into each other since you never varied their weights, and you used so many pen strokes that it was just chaotic most of the time. Plus the huge blocks of black and large text were just hard to take in amongst all the craziness. Try and make it simpler next time!
Pi, yours was easier to understand obviously, but man I wish you continued the quality from the first page into the latter ones. Sometimes your stuff just felt lazy rather than 'learning', and I hope you can bring it up for further fights.
Given to pi.
PInn, pretty hard to understand what was going on half of the time. some of the pannels were abit busy for how small they were wich made it hard to know what was going on. i did like how the blood was the only thing you coloured made it interesting to look at.
Pye. that first establishing shot was great, with that one purple. i thought u were gonna carry it over in all pages like Pinn did. but oh well. yeah, this was an interesting read, even tho there was no action the camera angles and dialoge kept me reading.
Good job guys keep it up :P
Sphinx
Yeeaaaahh......
I'm gonna be asking for an extension on this one, with a show, getting sick, and various little things have kept me from giving my all to this battle.
Sorry for the delay, this probably won't turn out too great. :(
