Thanks! I'll try and get something up tonight! I'm a long way from character generation though, would I be allowed to participate in jams without a dood?

Hey there!
I'm not new. Actually I'm old.

I just figured I'd log back in and try this out again.

Hello!

I'm Tales. I draw a lot of pixel, traditional, and digital art and animation. I have attempted comic-style art before, and would love to give it another shot.

I started trying to do art back in 2015, just putting a few scribbles on paper between classes in high school. I moved on to doing pixel art for quite a bit, predominantly drawing for online friends in the Furry community. More recently, after my exposure to more professional artists I saw at university (I wasn't in the art program, but I got to work with artists on occasion), I started to pursue traditional and digital art with a more structured approach. I have read a few books on figure drawing, and have filled a number of pages with sketches... That road eventually brought me here.

I hope that this place can be somewhere where I can grow and refine my art skills without having to abandon my current career path to take art at a college level.

Just to give some examples of my prior art (much of which is from my earlier days):

I look forward to battling you all in the future!

Hey everyone, it’s Bent. I’m not new to the site, but I’ve been gone for a long time. I joined back in 2010-ish, but never got serious about my art or battling. It’s been a long road. I didn’t leave the site on the best of terms. But I feel like things are finally starting to fall back into place, so it’s time to get back to making comics and finally having fun with it.

This time around, I’m looking to seriously focus on improving my skills. Writing. Visual narrative. Anatomy. Everything. It’s great to see the site so alive after all these years.

Catching up on 4 years of void comics is a massive task.
- I yearn for redemption, but I'll settle for a breakfast sandwich.

Heyoooooo! I'm Jay- Imma' looooong time lurker, been wanting to join since like....2006? But honestly, I was young and dumb and not entirely confident in my art skills at the time. Friggin' 12 years later Void came up in recent conversation with friends and I figured I'd give it a shot this time around. I'm looking for some hardcore critiques to push myself and better my art further! <3

Welcome back and good luck, look forward to seeing your art and make sure to stop by the discord as that is very active and the best place to get quick crits on your stuff, though discord is not good at keeping stuff archived so having an incubator thread will be good for that as well.

Hello everyone, I'm completely new to EnterVoid, but I've had experience with comic battles on another site years ago ( War for Arcadia ). I've read through the rules here, but I'm a little unclear on the format of how battles take place. I can tell that there's a predetermined time limit, but I'm used to the format where artists take turns posting their comics in one week intervals over a month (i.e. me, then my oponent, then me, then my oponent) then voting occurs. It's unclear to me how this works here. Do artists just collaborate on a story at the start and then create both their comics in the same window of time? In the format I listed before there was a lot more mystery surrounding what story an opponent would deliver and would require fast thinking before starting another week.

Thanks for your time. I look forward to creating art with all of you!

Hey Mayhem!! Welcome to Void!!

On here our battles take place a bit differently than both of your statements, albeit the latter can be done for collabs, but you're talking about battles. On Void, both artists work on their side of the battle simultaneously, both creating their own story with no knowledge of the opponent's story. The comics don't have to be in a "this then that" format, as with the way they do it here they try to allow each fighter to form their own narrative. For example, you could battle someone, and their comic could be about the characters becoming friends, while yours was about defeating their character in battle. When a battle finishes each person can choose what they want to take canon out of the events (unless its a scar match or death match) and then move on.

Does that make sense the way I explained it?

I hope you have a wonderful stay btw! If you have more questions or that wasnt clear enough, I highly recommend scrolling down to the 'follow us' section of the site, and peek into the discord chat to more directly converse with people and to be able to phrase questions easier!

Hello everyone!

I'm Viramem and I'm a newbie to the site. I've tried my hand at drawing comics before, but have never done so in a genuinely competitive scene--let alone one as feedback oriented as this one! While I'm pretty much on-board with everyone else in terms of hoping to improve my skills over the course of my stay here, I mainly want to use it as a tool to help me better manage my time and productivity in regards to making art because I feel like that's where my biggest weaknesses are. I've fallen out of practice in the last couple of years and would love to get back into drawing stories and fights again.

I look forward to talking with you all and drawing your characters!
