News & Events / Tag Team Magical Girl Death Tourney
« on: Jan 10, 2019, 01:03 PM »

It’s time to transformu-desu!

Magical girls have been pitted against each other for unknown reasons, (or who knows maybe not, maaaybe they’re just evil!)

Either way, it's up to you, and your team, to make it out of here alive.

Anyway onto the important stuff!

Tourney Details

This is a three round tag team DEATH tournament, with two weeks per round!
You can submit new characters specifically for this tournament.
This is a tag team so in order to join, you must find a teammate to work alongside, because what’s a magical girl without a team of friends, friend?
The surviving characters will each get a custom title of “Ultimate Magical Girl Survivor (Name)-chan!” If the character has multiple people within it, the title will change to “Ultimate Magical Girl Survivors (Name!)”

Signups end: February 8th
Tournament start: February 11th

Rules

  • You must enter with a teammate. You and your teammate can either create a new co-owned character, OR fight with two separate characters together.
  • You must have a minimum of headcount of 2 on your team. This could either be a shared character duo, or two separate characters fighting together. There is a maximum headcount of 4 magical girls and 2 ‘companions’. A companion can be identified as a small nonhumanoid magical helper.
  • Your characters need a team name! You may have a large team, and this way we won't have to say four names to refer to your team! Besides that, team names are super magical girl like! So if you just give us a team name for your magicals, it’d be much appreciated!
  • Magical girls are mainly defined as fulfilling common tropes set by this genre. You don’t need to use magic or anything, but do your best to be inspired by the genre. What does and doesn’t qualify as a magical girl can vary, but one thing that tends to be important is a magical girl outfit, whether they made it themself, or they transform into wearing it, or they always wear it. They need at least something to stand out from the crowd. The outfit can vary wildly, however going the sentai route is not something that qualifies. (While Sentai characters also have transformations, they're rooted in more shounen themes than magical girls, and while there's nothing wrong with having some shounen elements, there's a big difference between Power Rangers, and Magical Girl animes) Alongside the outfit they do need at least some sort of ability, magic based or not! If you’re unsure if your character qualifies as a magical girl, make sure to ask me, Desi, and I’ll help out some. You may also opt to exclude these things, but if so you need to give something to make sure it reads magical girl! Otherwise I’ll be deciding if a character does or does not qualify as a magical girl.
  • Your magical girls can be ANY gender, don’t limit yourself just to girls, fam!
  • Make sure to showcase ALL of your opponent’s characters being killed in battle! You must kill all “main” characters. A main character is one that appears in the name of the character. For example: If a character is named “Pink Girl and Blue Girl” you MUST show the deaths of Pink Girl and Blue Girl. If Pink Girl and Blue Girl have a magical cat companion, he does not have to be killed if you don’t want to. However, if the name of the character was “Pink Girl, Blue Girl and Magic Cat”, then you WOULD be required to kill the magic cat.
IF YOU FAIL TO SHOW ALL MAIN CHARACTERS DYING, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

If you do not follow any of the rules above you will be disqualified.

Signups

Sign up by commenting below with your character reference sheet, and who you’re planning to join with! If you’re going the shared character route, please mention it's going to be a shared character!
Make sure to submit the characters to the site for the tournament! Be sure to check off the “Tournament entrant (no Intro Comic)” query, or else you’ll have to put in an intro comic.

Borrowed characters and dead characters are not allowed, however existing characters may be used. They must have at least one comic showing them as a magical girl to qualify.

For this tournament we’d like 8 teams of two, so please be sure to sign up with your friends, and we’ll have a jolly magical killing spree!

Heya everyone, its been awhile since my last secret santa style jam!
SO BACK AGAIN HERE WE GO!

In the style of Red's Blind Date Jam, we're going to continue this jam with comics instead! I hope you'll all enjoy!

For this jam, we're going to do some for fun school themed comics! Everyone will be assigned a random target, and you can draw one of their characters, hanging out at school with one of your characters! Feel free to give em school uniforms, or clothes you think they would've worn back in the day at school! Feel free to go short with a one pager, or go larger if you like, but remember to keep in mind your due date!!!

Speaking of due dates!

Signups are open till the 15th. (Please say what characters you'd prefer to see in this jam)
On the fifteenth i will assign you all another voider to draw for.
You must finish your comic by the 30th, and send it to me, preferably via discord.
On the 31st the comics will go up in this thread!

If you'd like to put the comic up on the actual site, talk to the person you're drawing for and if they're chill with it, go ahead, albeit please wait till the 31st to do so!

If you'd like to help with anything, let me know!
If you'd like to be a member of the School Council, mention so in your post and I'll add you to the list. If anyone doesn't have a gift by the thirtieth, I will assign people to help with that. If someone fails to submit their drawing, they will be disqualified from future events

If you default one of these, there is one way to get out of being unable to join. You would have to, volunteer to create three additional drawings, for a randomly selected lucky three. After doing that, the School Council will draw something for you for that event, and you will regain the right to join. Thus keep in mind, if you default, that means you have to draw three new drawings to be able to join again. (So don't default okaaaaay?)

Entrants:

Dechado (Joey/Paavo)
Mister Kent (Jane Blonde/Raygun/Gargonne & AEGIS)

ITS THE VAMPERGARTEN, its a kindergarten class of vampires, with a very reluctant teacher who is trapped by time to always exist and have to run this class. The children never grow up, and the teacher does not either, for different reasons.

NOW SINCE ITS MORE RELEVANT TO GO FROM RIGHT TO LEFT LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY CHILDREN(literally) JAPANESE STYLE

Kourtney is the class's teacher, she is a panicky individual who is deathly afraid of being bitten by the class, and constantly runs away and has mental breakdowns. She hates her job and wants to die, but she signed some contract and didn't read the fine print.

Mel is your very typical broody vampire, who wants little to do with the other vampire children. She's also the most intimidating of the bunch, so she usually can threaten the others to submission if needed.

Ya boi Syncs is just a fairy kei bubble of joy, he loves floating around like a bubble, and always is looking to put a smile on people's faces. A super entertainer, and cuddly, but he might nibble a bit.

Aliv IS THE PEAK of sophistication, a class butler, he basically tries to act like he's thirty. He constantly apologizes for the others and gains people's trust because its much easier to bite them that way, and he also cares very much about being sophisticated.

Dir is genderfluid, and goes by all pronouns. They are the most weak willed of the group, they cry very easily, but tend to go along with whatever the others say. They kind of feel bad to bite people, and literally anything makes them cry.

Nir is genderfluid, and goes by all pronouns. They are the most sneaky fun loving of the group, and tend to try toying with victims, aka their poor teacher, and (insert void character here) Tries to make Dir act 100% like them, but ends up having it all fail because Dir starts crying.

Hello everyone, I'm completely new to EnterVoid, but I've had experience with comic battles on another site years ago ( War for Arcadia ). I've read through the rules here, but I'm a little unclear on the format of how battles take place. I can tell that there's a predetermined time limit, but I'm used to the format where artists take turns posting their comics in one week intervals over a month (i.e. me, then my oponent, then me, then my oponent) then voting occurs. It's unclear to me how this works here. Do artists just collaborate on a story at the start and then create both their comics in the same window of time? In the format I listed before there was a lot more mystery surrounding what story an opponent would deliver and would require fast thinking before starting another week.

Thanks for your time. I look forward to creating art with all of you!

Hey Mayhem!! Welcome to Void!!

On here our battles take place a bit differently than both of your statements, albeit the latter can be done for collabs, but you're talking about battles. On Void, both artists work on their side of the battle simultaneously, both creating their own story with no knowledge of the opponent's story. The comics don't have to be in a "this then that" format, as with the way they do it here they try to allow each fighter to form their own narrative. For example, you could battle someone, and their comic could be about the characters becoming friends, while yours was about defeating their character in battle. When a battle finishes each person can choose what they want to take canon out of the events (unless its a scar match or death match) and then move on.

Does that make sense the way I explained it?

I hope you have a wonderful stay btw! If you have more questions or that wasnt clear enough, I highly recommend scrolling down to the 'follow us' section of the site, and peek into the discord chat to more directly converse with people and to be able to phrase questions easier!
