Neens: It's the old breaking pots joke, which, to be honest, I'm a little tired of, but you combined it some other videogame-related ideas (like exploiting a convenient source of healing) to make it more than just a "breaking pots" joke. And you really made sure he deserved it by the end, too. Very solid black and white comic.

Brentony: ... oh, yeah. If he's a video game character, then he should be able to respawn, right? And, dang, this series continues to be a parade of death and gore. It builds.... but I wonder if speed death is giving the proper opportunity for Silent Protagonist to express his feelings properly.

Neens: I find this story to be really good. The build up was solid and no page was wasted. Everything was spotless but of course nothing short of an equally competent color piece could stand up to it. However let's talk about its strongest point - it conveyed SP in a manner that fit their mold and Rue was the annoyed NPC in all of us that we didn't know we rooted for.  As a gamer-slime I appreciate all the callouts and tropes but don't find them overly forced. Thanks !

Brentony: I think this was a strong piece but I felt myself wondering if this one struggled to weave together all the points it wanted to make. SP dies, he tries again, he gets exhausted. His catharsis is never reached and we are left with a bad taste that his victories have made him hollow and that these plot device crystals are starting to become a burden to him more than anything. I w i s h there had been a way to address that and on the second read it was a little clearer that it was but there was little punch to that effect -- at least not one strong enough that could have overtaken your opponent's thematic focus.

omg these are both so good
neens i love the put-upon NPC story of yours, its so satisfying at the end when he dies after all the trouble hes caused XD your inks are so gorgeous and i loves the shapes you draw the characters with!
hahaha your story is like the opposite of neens' XD the colours are pretty! normally i'd worry they were too oversaturated but for your theme i think they work. the respawn gag was fun but so much happened so fast that i actually started to get kind of confused, seemed a little all over the place. great expressions!

Gaddang, both these comics were too good. TOO GOOD. The humor, the antics, just the overall flavor totally got me leaning in my chair closer to the screen. Really fun match up coming outta this SDT fo sho!

Brentony, your colors are getting better, and your dynamic angles as you set the scenes panel to panel were awesome. I especially dig that over the throne opening shot on the first page.

Neens your inks are to die for. Just the right amount of detail and minimalism to really flesh out the scene of poor Rue's potless existence.

I'm not gonna lie, this is gonna be a tough vote. Like DAMN. Great job you guys.

Both of these were so full of vidja game antics, much respect to you artists!

Neens - Poor Rue being a lonely cave dwelling hermit potion giver, what ever became of her dreams of great witchdom? Maybe we will see that at a later point? Good luck!

Brentony - What could all them plot devices be for?! I could have hoped for some more action. The respawn gag was pretty good but reusing all the previous comic shenanigans was a let down. I do respect your ability to get these all done and colored in one week, amazing. Good luck!

Neens I love the kind of reversal that goes on here since we're used to seeing this situation from the perspective of the hero. A straightforward but charming comic.

Bretony, I liked the kind of montage of all the respawns that Silent had gone through to reach this point but to me it was a bit herd to follow. But once I did it was nice to see some of those gags regarding the last comic.
