Its weird, but I think now is the singular time I can hit two contestants---
With A Single Crit.
Honestly, the long and short of it is that you both brought it with your usual respective flairs on the art side. Hiemie, your goofy watercolors are always a refresher, and roflqu, your sharp inks make me jealous enough to wear your skin. The big 'issue' mostly comes with the writing. These feel a lot more like 24-hour-comics where you had one really cool idea/plot-point you wanted to hit and just didnt have time to set the tone beforehand, or resolve it afterward.
Like, I'm sure this is a prelude to your TRUE FUTURE BATTLE, but considering thats hella-far-away, it coulda just been included in that. So it's this weird sorta "I wanna see more, if only so I understand what I just saw" tone.
Not so Future Battle AKA IRREVERSABLE CONSEQUENCES / Space Person vs. Dr. Fabulous

This really is a taste of two worlds; both comics excel in opposites.
Hiemie, your watercolors give it an illustrative feel akin to children's book, juxtaposed with the cursing, it really brings it home. Not to mention, your lineart + the watercolor's texture gives it a nice organic feeling across the board. I really dig the cup panel, but the hand looks like it's not quite... wrapping around it? Something is ever so subtly throwing me off visually. But you really gave the impression that you understand both characters like they're your own; a compliment to ROFLQU's creation as well. Nice humor, Himie. There's a tactful hyperbole with the cosmic shenanigans.
ROFLQU, your inks are so crisssp and sharp. If it were off, it'd be very noticeable, so props to that + your black and white. I'm all about that B&W aesthetic, and it contrasts Hiemie's nicely. Plus, something I'm very fond of is good lettering, and that's a heavily underrated skill. There's something "ye olde newspaper comic strip" about it I can't quite put my finger on that works. Maybe it's the prudent usage of space. I want to guess you're somewhat meticulous about your craft. I want to see you push your writing in the future as you do your drawing.
What a superb match-up this was.

MUTHA FUGGIN HIEMIE- Yaaaas! Glad to see the year come to a close with one more Hiemie comic! I am totally tickled by the word 'Darnola'. I need to use it in regular conversation now, haha! This was a cool sorta collab dealie between you two, but then again you two always seemed to jive well together. Dunno if this tale dovetailing into Roflqu's was intentional, but it works and I love it. I didn't actually realize how much I missed Space Persons wacky antics until I saw this battle in rotation. Seeing your traditional work in a sea of digital comics is definitely a breath of fresh air.
ROFLQU- Per usual, you got some pretty sharp inks, my man. Sharp enough you almost get cut readin' this side. I especially liked the time you took out to really have fun with Space person's expressions- which, really is a feat in itself since his face is essentially a helmet. Seeing what you could manage with exaggerated proportions and toony wackitude tickled my fancy, it did. I said it for Hiemie's side, but I'll say it again, its always a good time when you two battle one another- less of a good time for us, trying to figure out which side we liked more!

Hiemie: As always, silly and cracky as fuck. ggd shit. But also a lot of texts. BUT it's balanced by the fact it's handwritten
ROFLQ: indeed, THAT COMIC WAS IMPORTANT TO READ, HAHAHA DrFAb knows how to focus on what matter, apparently ^^

True Fact: Don't forget when your comic is due then realize you basically have to do the whole thing the day it's due.
On that note, I'm done and I turned in.
