@Technicolor-yawn - Marvelous. Just... marvelous. This was one of my fav entries so far, omg. The poses are just amazing, the expressions... it is so perfect, bummer it is still a sketch but omg. It is impossible for me to pick a favorite joke, they were all so good, but my favs were "...we are not famous" and the action figures imagine spot. Great work!

@Rursus - This was a pretty interesting comic! I liked the color scheme, personally, and your style is pretty neato! I really like the paneling too, it is really creative! Also that ending XD Great comic!

Techni: i really enjoyed the writing on your side. Dispite the sketchy unfinished looking art quality,
Your personalities and poses really shine through. Good story. Page 10 last panels were a little confusing at first until i realised it waslike a mirror, but it kinda messed with the flow.
Rursus: i couldnt really follow what was happening (where did the syringe come from?? Doctor princess must have left it behind) but the gags were pretty funny and your artstyle is sharp.

Technicolor-Yawn: youre breaking my heart because I love this comic, but as said, it is incomplete! your gestures, writing, characterizing is all on-point; i'd love to see what you'd come up with, if you had a longer deadline ;___;

I guess next time, try to condense your story! But this was an amazing first round, I'm thoroughly impressed.

Rursus: Some of the writing is a bit TOO convienient: Click takes out his guns? There happens to be insulin, and Click happens to know it will stop Sugar rush's powers/not kill him? Otherwise, I really enjoyed the quality of your pages, especially the transformation sequence!

@Technicolor-yawn; Even if you weren't able to get your comic finished you got so many pages done and the characters poses were really dynamic throughout. The story was fantastically done and I really love the inclusion of other characters into the background of the fight.

@Rursus; I've got to say I'm a /huge/ fan of your paneling in your comic it really makes everything feel really dynamic. The story you have going is really fun as well. The only complaint is that it feels kind of empty in some of these pages.

Wow, you two went all the way with story length! And, on top of that, you both pulled it off rather well considering you only had a week.

Technicolor-Yawn, it's such a shame this never left the rough phase because it's already so clear and strong! Even though it's a sketch, and a rather light one, I had no problem reading or enjoying the story, themed around the more old school Void theme of competitive fighting in a very entertaining way. Maybe pick a different tool to sketch in so your sketches can have more presence on their own should it come to that next time, go the route of professional storyboarders?

Rursus' use of tone + color is pretty interesting. Not quite sure how to tell you how to improve how you pull off that technique. Personally, I've never been able to pull off digital tones to my satisfaction. The tone does kind of eat up the artwork sometimes because the dots are stronger than the lineart. Your comic is also so funny! The ending note made me laugh.

You both made these guys a good pair!

Technicolor-Yawn: Ugggh I love your style so much. Everything feels so fluid. You've really got movement and expressiveness down to an art! I hope you do more completed things in the future, especially since this was a lot for just a 1 week deadline. My only problem was the order the story was arranged in, because it felt like it ended twice. I get you were saving the twist, but you might want to cut back to the original action before moving in another direction, or it feels like two entirely different scenes. That's just my take though!

Rursus: Man, your panel layouts are so cool! I can never get down doing creative shapes like that without making it hard to follow but I never read the panels out of order going through yours so you've really got a nice flow there. My critique is maybe strive to include more backgrounds? A good rule of thumb is maybe one indicator of where they are per page, since there's a lot of fighting in blank space on this one and just one background per page would be enough to remind the reader where this is. The story was really cute though, and I enjoyed it a lot!

@Technicolor-yawn: Man, that was a fun story! I wish you'd been able to finish it up better, because it looks like you've got a really neat style, and I wanna see it in technicolor! I can't really critique the art too much, since it's not a completely finished comic, but I think if you took on a longer match after the tournament, you'd be able to do something like this without running out of time. I guess for now, work on adjusting your story so you can get a finished product even if it's shorter. Can't wait for your next comic!

@Rursus: I really love your character and hope to see more of them. I have to say that something about the art on your comic feels unfinished. I don't know if it's lack of backgrounds, lots of white space, or something else, but at least pay attention to those two details. I thought your story was fun! I can't wait for your next comic! :)

Both of your characters are so ridiculous I can't even handle how much I love it! Finished product or not both were definitely entertaining and took unique approaches to interacting with one another. Can't wait for more greatness and friendships!

Both entries were very entertaining!
Techinicolor - The sketches are great, lots of fluid lines and great dialogue and cute story, it's too bad we didn't get to see a finished a product.

Rursus - I love the dotted comic panel look, it's very retro-cool. Your story was cute, I love how they ended up fighting for real in the end over something small.
