mickequ: I don't believe a lot of detailed bg is necessary for a simple style such as this. What was there conveyed enough information for me to understand the story quite cleanly and more might have been clutter. Short, sweet, simple and well executed.
Rice: thx for letting me know what you're capable of in the title page, but unfortunately it sets me up for a disappointment with the rest of the submission. The story wasn't there even when viewing the work on flickr.

@mickequ: Ffff, man I love your characters. They're really fun and the story wasn't boring in my opinion, was a fun quick read. Your ink work is really nice and clean too. I do think your backgrounds felt kind of empty though, so just fill them up a bit more next time. Nice first match!
@Mo Rice: Better luck on the next one dude. Resize your pages and finish up the inks for your next battle and you'll do fine.

mickequ - What is there to say? You're style is so damn charming and your characters unique. Comic was simple in premise, but still enjoyable. Really looking forward to seeing more of these two!
mo - Tho unfinished, I really enjoy the style that's peeking through. Finish that shit next time!

Sorry Tazuma, but I'm going by what you've uploaded here instead of the resized version you just posted.
Mick: Not bad, standard meet greet and fight, but there wasn't much in terms of conflict and I thought this comic was a bit boring. Still though, the art alone wins this one for me.
Mo Rice: Splash page was neat, but what you've uploaded on void is my first impression of the comic, and right now... I do not want to read the resized version. Aim for the minimum amount of pages when it comes to a short deadline, fix up your time schedule so that you have the time to finish, and polish up your pages otherwise it'll look like crap in the end.
Welcome to void you two, just remember you can keep battling even if you lose.

And nice stuff Mickequ, clean and sharp and made me lol
And the top text is "Hobo std", and the bottom text is "AR Bonnie".

Mickequ-- Aww yeaaahh girl, I love your stuff. It's so slick and nicely designed. I'll be watching you. Not to be creepy or anything.
Kieden-- Dude, it's so cool to see you here. I love your cover, it looks like you were kind of pressed for time towards the end though. Funny dialogue. And yeah, I agree with all the comments about resizing your stuff.

Mickequ: I love just looking at your art. Its so clean and smooth and FUN! Awesome comic, I can't wait to see more from you.
Mo: Your pages were huge and sketchy, they were a pain to read at that size and I gave up half way through. Resize your comics smaller.

AWWw Mo, I love the idea of them having a big spaceship thing, I'm totally taking that for a future battle ROTFL~
PS, what font is that on the last page? It's cute!

Holy freaking crap. FUCK YEAR.
Mickequ: Those lines are flawless! The quality you were able to put together in just a week is astonishing. Great control of shading and form really brought out the best here. I can't wait to see what else you've got for us!
Mo Rice: It's a shame you couldn't finish, but these lines and poses are so expressive and powerful that I can't hate on them. If you had cleaned up the construction lines I think this still would've been a very strong entry-- it's strong as it is, but with those lines there it makes it look sloppy and incomplete, when in reality it could still look really good if they weren't there...
Good luck to both of you! Awesome fight! Augh, who to vote for!!

That was every bit as awesome as I had imagined. Though I'm a little disappointed there wasn't some sort of Saturday Night Fever dance off.
Anyways, I thought both entries were pretty entertaining. Though Mo, your pages could have been a bit smaller.

Sweet!
Love that you did an intro even though you didn't have to Mickequ!
Really like that jump suit Mo. The colors rock.
Looking foward to this. Don't disappoint! Haha.

Especially for only having a week to finish at least three pages, both of you went beyond the call of duty. I think all of us noobies in the tournament got taught a lesson in time managment. And At least in my case, not to bite off more than I could chew. Excited to potentially face the winner of this in the next rounds of the tournament.
Keep it up!
