Hmm so now that my nervous breakdown seems to be over (cured by a weekend of heavy drinking, yay!) I suppose I should comment.  I want to thank you all for the votes and the comments.  And now I will address some key points...

@Sixtem Mmm Babies.

@Angie That sounds like good advice but right now I don't know what I want to do with PS.  I've pretty much abandoned it altogether and with it, most of the knowledge I had dealing with it.  I dunno.  At some point I want to return to it and be awesome with it but I suppose that may come in time.  Digital is the enemy right now.

@David Well I am a pretentious asshole but no, that is real dialogue.  Well it's actually multiple real dialogues that I spliced together into one narrative.  Hippies like to monologue.

But I also looked up that Charles Burn guy and yeah he's awesome.  I guess he's my new role model.

@Joshua Thanks man, I love Junji Ito so I'm happy that I channelled him somehow haha.

@Kuro You can always see right through me can't you?  Asshole.  Hahaha.  But yeah I'll keep all that in mind and more.  I'm still trying to find that line inbetween I guess.

nilla, as cool as the trip was & you could see the progression at points, it was more just a series of visuals than an actual proper story. it was creative & looked fairly nice, but ultimately the trip doesn't give us enough of what we need in this context. something like showing the trip & then reality & going back & forth would have worked a bit better. and it would've been neat to show how outside stimulus might have affected the mental state.
all that & it took a second read for me to make out the differences between the two characters.

willa, there's something in your work where part looks photoref'ed then other bits where you're falling back on the anime & then there's like a divide between them that's a little hard to describe. ultimately, it takes me out a bit, but i don't know how to suggest getting past it other than to keep laying pen(cil) to paper! that having been said, you're still on the up & up between one battle to the next. the ink lines still get a little discombobulated & messy at times, but then the bits with the rain were just very nicely done. see it's weird, some parts really work, & others just don't. just keep at it.
oh & the text seemed HIY-UGE, but then again, the pages felt a little on the bigger side too. word of advice though, i'd stick to caption boxes if you have some kind of detail behind the letters. otherwise, stroke or no stroke, you get little dots of line art behind the text & it looks sloppy.

Damn! another really close one,

I don't have much to add, I really enjoyed both comics, and you each had a nice spin on the LSD trip-mode. Wafer, fucking get a regular character in already! Will, def. some of your best work, although you do get a bit too wordy sometimes.
I like how you had a creepy almost Junji Ito vibe in spots.

Great job!!!!!!

Vanilla - Great Punchline...I remember this one time I was on shrooms and I thought that the vibrations from the friction in ym fingertips was allowing me to levitate....but really I was just rubbing my hands together...hahahahah...yeah awesome character

Villy D- Good dialogue..if it wasn't about someone tripiing I'd think you were a pretentious asshole...Also...your art reminds me more and more of Charles Burns the way you mix heavy blacks with really uniform hatching (shit is it still called hatching if it's just straight lines...) anywho veyr good overall...

mmmm the memories...

vanilla-it was good to finally see a comic from you oh my god haha I think you had some interesting things going on with the patterns and repetition. You had some interesting ideas here but I think what hurt you was I really didn't get what was going on. I know the character is supposed to be all trippy and stuff, but I was waiting for some kind of story to form and it never really came so I was left confused. It felt more being random/weird for the sake of being random/weird.

William-bravo, I'm happy to see you deliver! Story wise I was pretty interested but this is coming from a biased party. But nonetheless I think you had some nice build up in here. I think the main thing to watch out for is the texturing. While it's great you did something to keep there from being a ton of negative space, all those scribbles on the ceiling on the first page and the water on the 5th page were a little overwhelming and difficult to focus on. One trick you could have tried was selecting those areas and putting a new layer with gray over them in Photoshop and messing with the layer settings to make the lines themselves a shade of gray so they'd fade to the background a bit more.

Vanilla - You definitely succeeded in making this feel like a trip. It was interesting to look at, but I didn't really feel anything about the battle until the gag at the end.

William - Your comic felt like it had more substance. Though the beginning felt a little melodramatic, I enjoyed the latter half with Dee. You did a pretty good job of having the two nutjobs play off of each other. Also, the realistic baby sticks out really weird in your work.

Well if you made an amazing 5000 page comic it should be effortless for you to churn out an awesome 20 page comic before the deadline, SO THAT IS NOW WHAT I AM EXPECTING.

and oh man vanilla is finally fighting yesssssssssssssssssss

My battle was up to 5000 pages and was an epic so great that even the great poet Homer would have wept with joy.  Alas it was all lost in a great fire, after a lightning bolt struck the pages down for being so awesome that it would have ended all life as we know it.  Some things just aren't meant to be...
