Plus i have kinda one critique for HotChick. It was a cool idea to integrate the two characters into a single story, but i agree with the other person who said that making him a dramatic character was not a good idea. But to add on, i feel that you\'re kinda changing who Mandrake is, or over-analyzing the character profile a little bit. I mean, i\'ll give you that he has a thing for trying to squash women with a train, but i would imagine he wouldnt do it because he couldnt love them. He thinks he\'s in a silent film, so he\'s possibly like the countless villains who want to kill ladies with trains to get the hero. This isnt a flame, so please dont take it offensively, i\'m just trying to build some constructive criticism :).

M.E Charm: No poking at the perspective, im going straight for the characters. Sure, you want hot chick to be a dramatic character and whats not, FINE, but DO-NOT bring another character with much more humor to the dramatic game. By doing that, you\'ve lost a huge comedic gimmick and personality conflict situations. You could have played around a bit with how Mandrake acts like a baboon and Hot Chick would slowly get irritated by that due to his cold nature, you know, break a bit from the average since you got 2 completely different characters. And dawgmastas simply took that situation and used it so well on his favor. And another thing , why didn\'t Mandrake struggle? Did you go back to weakening your opponents? I was proud of your last battle where you at least had the Duo put up a fight but this felt so quick, especially for a conflict between the dead.

Mandrake: Bwahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaha fire hydrant oh man, i wont stop laughing at that one for a while. Not on the serious side, play some more with your angles, most of your panels are either front or side view, add in low, high, worms eye, birds eye, this might get to be extremely hard since you\'re in a 2d universe but im pretty sure ull find a balance. The hot chick design was lacking tough, maybe in a comic purpose tough. But overall im digging the way the story is heading right now.

What can I say.....I like Charmy\'s emo style. This is a dark story of people trying to come back from the dark beyond....and it looks like HC has every intent to come back!

Dawg\'s style is pretty cool and brings out some comic relief....and I admit your look for HC was pretty interesting....and I liked it.

I enjoyed these two comics a lot. Both artists are great, and the fighters are very original. I had difficulty to vote considering the variable.

M.E Charms story was interesting. It was very dramatic and dark. Perfect for Hot CHick it seemed, but perhaps not as much for Mandrakes personality. His personality seemed more cinematic and eccentric. I believe maybe ME Charm was trying to show a sadder side to a more comical character? The backgrounds were evident but the blank panels with coloured drops show dramatic or climatic points, and I feel the bg\'s drawn were used effectively of purpose.

I cant help but have wanted more appealing backgrounds however. I really enjoyed the artwork, as well as the colours used, very muted and serious, the paneling flowed so nicely, I breezed through it without stopping the first time, had to come back and re-read slowly and observe. I enjoyed it greatly!

dawgmastas story with Mandrake... The first time I read it was like an acid trip. I didnt really understand what was going on in half the story for a while. I had to re-read each panel seperately. I read to his profile, and then I understood more of what was going on with the \"silent movie\" idea. It made more sense then, as sense as the insane can make sense.

It was really entertaining, and when I read that from the comments it was done so quickly?! Thats really great! It sounds like you went hard on this to come back with your character, now thats ambition! Despite any artwork oops I liked it... But... Why does Hot Chick look like a penguin?! (is he supposed to be black or yellow?) The pacing of the panels confused me at first, but I caught on after a while and found a flow. It was troublesome. I liked how random and unexpected Mandrake is to his eccentricness, for this particular character, it made it exciting instead of negative.

... I... I love his mustache... ... ... ... I kind of want to touch them. Ahhh.... ... ...

Wowie, I adore your style, Charmie. The colours are very nice and the persepctive looks great in all of them. Enough variety with it, too. Veryy awessommmme! I like how you put so much... emotion... into a chicken. XD I know that sounds funny. But still. It\'s great.

Dawg, your comic is so funny!! I love it. Your characters are full of emotion and movement :D So bendy and silly.

Charm: Your style is wonderful as always and I love your storytelling in your other stuff, but this comic was kinda boring in comparison- not to mention Mandrake didn\'t really seem in character even though the comic itself was a \"serious\" comic as opposed to the comedic satire of Dawg\'s comic. I gave you the quality vote. :]

Dawg: Your comic had me giggling with the silly little things you snuck in there (such as Hot Chick\'s M.Mouse pants)~ your story was more amusing, though it seemed to slip up in a couple small spots, but nothing really bad. Your comedy gets me everytime. :] I gave you the vote for entertainment.

You both got the same as far as creativity- but if I could choose a winner, it\'d be Dawg. Entertainment ranks over art quality in my mind.

Good luck to you both. :)

Oh hot chick you\'re so angsty. I love it!
Man, it\'s like a cliffhanger to a really great story. I hope they get out safely~

Hahaha, I\'m probably a terrible person for not finding anything devastatingly awful about Charmy\'s comic. I\'ve heard \"it\'s only more emo sobbing\" from some people but couldn\'t you just as easily say \"it\'s only more existential nonsense out of Monday\" ...? To say nothing happened is to ignore the monumental shift from Hot Chick being a \"victim of circumstance\" to an active aggressor, which throws his previous battles into a new light, full of questions. It\'s melodramatic, corny, cheesy, sure, but does that make it /bad/?

Dawg, you\'re some kind of brilliant. Fire hydrant is my new wallpaper. Yours was a fun trip, and your chameleon like ability to incorporate the style and nuances of your opponents makes this a character I wish could see move forward.

This should have been the final match of the tournament.

I\'ll have to disagree with Phill regarding Charmy\'s backgrounds..in which except one of the panels from the first page, they had a certain constant detail level, and provided that you didn\'t use that overall shading, like last battle, it\'s an advance :D. I loved your rendition of Mandrake, between a realistic yet stilized aspect. I found the pace ok, but Hot Chick lighted the fire for no reason at all, right before starting fighting with Mandrake. Plus, the \"find a reason to fight\" was a bit too generical. Not bad, though.

Dawg: You used about the same detail level in most panels, so I guess those are ok. My complaint in this story was about you focusing too much on the mummy, and like using Hot Chick as a detail in the obstacle, which was not the fight, but the train flight. Artwise, again, I found that some hatchings were a bit too much sketchy, which fits the overall art, but somehow (sorry to not be able to develop) feels out of place (examples on long distance city shots, and on the clouds). You could also have used more red before the gun scene.

In the end I kinda agree with Phill then, as I liked Mandrake\'s most.
Good luck the both of ya!

Oh, and Charm, it was great finally doing a battle with you.  I\'ve wanted to do it since way back in the day when we were talking about doing a scar match.  And, this probably isn\'t the effect you wanted, but I found yours really funny.  I liked it.

HOW THE FUCK IS HOT CHICK WINNING?!

Charmy: Dude, I respect ya as an artist mang, but honestly I\'ve seen better from ya in the SDT. This is just half assed with colors slapped on to wow the more idiotic voters. Minus the colors you can easily see there\'s little to no effort put into this comic, the only good backgrounds are on the first page, but afterwards they suddenly vanish leaving just colors to fall back on. I ain\'t falling for that though. Story was OK for a short comic, but even then it was boring as all hell. I respect ya as I said before, but this comic is so-so in my books and does not deserve the scores it\'s recieving right now.

Dawg: This is as unbiased as I can be right now man, but so far this is one of the few comics you\'ve made that I can actually give the highest scores on. 1 week and 18 completed pages with the same quality on every page? I don\'t know about you kids voting, but I think that\'s grounds for some pretty high marks on his behalf. Granted the quality overall is usually pretty wacky, and the backgrounds could use a bit more depth, but overall I was overly impressed with the quality given. Entertainment-wise, you have in the bag, the comic was funny, and creepy at the same time! I do admit there were times where the dialog confused me and caused me to jump to the wrong text box, but this was only once or twice tops.

But overall Dawg, your comic was the most entertaining so far and really was a fun comic to read.

My vote is obviously for Dawg, but how the hell is he losing by such a wide margin?!

Charmy: laid out kind of sterile, but nice clean panelling. Your lack of backgrounds kind of brought things down. I\'m not really into the story, and you made Mandrake pretty passive haha.

Dawg: I like where this is going, its really fun and this character just is. I laughed so damn hard at this that people were questioning what the hell I was doing. Emo Hot Chick killed me, especially with that fire hydrant, though at the end he kind of looked like Hitler, even without the squarestache. Your panelling/bgs were a messy, and I would have liked a little more of a hint of who was saying what (I only got confused once though), but I\'m pretty impressed with 18 pages this short work time.

My vote goes to Mandrake, entertainment and hell he\'d be so much more fun to battle if he won the SRT hahahaha.

Charm: This was better than your last comic, in the way that I actually knew what was going on.  Art was good for a weeks time, but you still fell short on entertainment I feel.

Dawg: I thought you didn\'t do so well with your art on this entry as you did on the last one.  Storywise, the plot\'s progressing fine - you ended on a nice hook and I want to see what happens next. Humour wise this is great, as usual.

I fear that it is the INTENTION of the gods of Void to forestall a second apocalyptic meeting between Hot Chick and Harriet Glauben.  I will, nonetheless, maintain my hopes.

That said, good luck to Dawg, too.  I\'d better see the most amazing of post-mortem comix from the both of you. *strokes goatee*
