@cybermananon: you have now given every non-toon in VOID the key to defeating every toon in VOID. I love how you handled toon logic, and overall this was just a creative and well-done comic!
@g0ttam: despite how sloppy the art was (it looks like you were really rushing), I found myself enjoying the cartoony antics. I'm always a fan of making your own character the loser in a match, even if they are ultimately victorious. That last panel is priceless. I'd maybe focus on a shorter story so you can sharpen your art a bit more, but that's your judgment call. 1-weekers are always difficult to plan.

I laughed super hard at both of these comics! I desperately want this to be like, animated or something, because fighting a toon is always an amazing experience. Also--ship has been born!
Seriously, how did both of you put out so many pages of good fun time in a week?! You amazing upon amazing!

Cybermananon, I had an absolute blast reading this comic. I think I was the most impressed by how clever the battle itself is, you make really good use of your opponent's individual skillset, and take what could be a normal battle and turn it on it's head because of those skills. The flow of action in these pages is really easy to follow, too. So the fighting before the jokes comes across very fluid. I've gotta fight you at some point.
Gottam, I've got similar feelings to Flutterbyes' post, it's great to see you just go for it! But it was a little unclear and difficult to read at some parts. I'd suggest maybe trying different fonts out rather than handwriting in the speech bubbles? I did that because I was worried my own handwriting wouldn't come off as easy to understand. Still, keep at it, you've got potential, especially doing this much in the first round! Your use of onomatopoeia and your page layouts work in your favor for sure, you've definitely got a grasp on comic making!

No critiques, just trying to figure out how the heck you both managed to get all these pages done. Also I totally ship it.

Cybermananon: This was a fun story that used the "cartoon" theme well. I'm not sure it was clear that only one character was a toon, and they both seemed to make Pop Team Epic type troll faces. The panels that really let them show what they're doing with their bodies are the strongest ones. At other times, some actions are a little cramped. Overall, it's very nice!
Gottam: Wow, that is an ambitious comic for round one! It was a big hard to read at times, and the drawings aren't always clear, but I got a good laugh out of it. It's very clear what you had in mind, even if it gets a little lost in the messiness sometimes. I do hope to see more comics from you, with a higher level of polish to make all the ideas you have shine.

Cybermananon: Welcome to void, I love Koop and fully support him. Also doing 11 complete grayscale comics in one week is crazy good. The story with him using toon logic to his advantage and also having him a dress is great. Also all your action lines are good and I wanna learn how to do them like that. My only crit would be that this tends to stay towards the dark midtone side of the grayscale with few lights and i think the comic could have used more highlights. Besides that I love this and look forward to seeing more Koop and really badly wanna fight him.
Gottam: You should be proud of doing 11 pages in one week as your first comic, That's amazing. I am curious what art program you are using and what the original size you worked on for these comics? In general I would recommend for your future battles shortening the length to spend more time on the pages and give the limited pages some more love, with the less pages you can spend more time improving the figures and adding some more details to backgrounds. Also for word bubbles I would recommend using a custom font you can find a bunch of free ones online on sites like blambot and I would recommend that over handwriting. Overall this is a great first comic and void is a great place to learn and do more comics.

Cybermananon's comic's plot is really nice! I love how the toon theme was exploited. Not only it was smart but they made it feel super badass too! The characterization was super lively at that!
For G0ttam, I am almost a complete beginner with comics too, so I can emphatize... As a reader, I must say that you got to be just a little more careful with the art! Sometimes the art can be confusing.... Consider using shades of grey instead of just black and white, it should help differ the figures from action lines and other elements. The structure is actually very good, tho! I am somebody who has a lot of trouble with rythm, so lots of kudos for grasping that

BY G0TTAM- That punched in face panel totally cracked me up. Gotta love the gags! I second and third the rushed nature of your work. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what you're capable of when you take your time on one panel.
