You know how I feel but it deserves to be said.

That quality needs to be repeated, again.

Oh, thank you for the correction.

I'm used to Joann being a girl's name. As in Jo-Ann.

I bought two graphic novels today.

I got the Halo Graphic Novel and a little book called Klezmer by Joann Sfar.

The Halo Graphic Novel isn't too interesting storywise, but I think the art is phenomenal, especially the first story which uses bright flashy colors. If you want a story though, don't buy it. The most I'll get out of this nugget is just the pure enjoyment of picture examining.

Now, Klezmer, by Joann Sfar on the other hand is extremely good in my opinion. It takes place in Pre-World War II Europe, involving a group of wanderers who all end up together and start a band, making money off of Jewish Bar-Batmitvahs, and weddings. The art style looks pretty damn cool in my opinion too, she makes excess use of Watercolors, resulting in something pretty appealing.

Resources & Tutorials / Re: Creating a Tridimensional Character

Never hurt to write.

Goliath

PHYSIOLOGY

1. Sex/Gender: Robot

2. Age: Since full creation, 40 years.

3. Height/Weight: 7”0’

4. Color of Hair/Eyes/Skin: No Hair/Black Visor/White

5. Posture: Straight as a ruler.

6. Appearance: Tall robot with a black visor and three voice slits. He wears a white fur-collar jacket and blue jeans, with black and white checkered pattern shoes. Has a large tv set on his chest and carries a road sign with him.

7. Defects (deformities, abnormalities, birthmarks, diseases): TV chest doesn’t show television, but instead blasts out a potentially fatal laser. (Most of the models he was built from use the television sets as television, for their owners.)

8. Heredity (inherited traits from character's family): Since the original robot model design contained the same type of visor, which passed on to the newer models.

SOCIOLOGY

1. Social Class: On Pluto, he is a working class robot that deals with criminals. On Earth, he is a regular middle class
citizen, but since he does not work, he could be seen as lower.

2. Occupation: On Pluto he deals with all sorts of convicts, such as rapists or murderers. He has no working union of a sort, since he follows his order to help his owner, the Warden. Ever since the convict 100235784 escaped to Earth, he tracked him down. The Convict is to be executed and he must reinstate Pluto back to planetary status before five years time.

3. Education: Goliath has no formal education, but knows every subject of Pluto. He has begun learning Earth as well. He is lacking in natural sciences, like biology or weather, but he is a genius of electronics.

4. Home Life: Goliath’s only figure that could be considered a father would be The Warden. The Warden is the one who modified Goliath from his original design, making him into a war robot. He also caused his glitch of chest laser from his TV screen and teaching him how to subdue criminals. His home would be with The Warden and his room in the basement with his battery charger.
The Warden is a stern and powerful individual who prides himself on running a clean and honorable prison where he can hold Pluto’s scum. The Warden seems like he does not care for Goliath, which wouldn’t be too hard to swallow since he is a robot. However, The Warden is the first on the scene to repair Goliath if needed or he breaks down. As Goliath has left the confines of Pluto, he is on his own with most of his planet depending on him to reinstate Pluto back to planetary status and save it from dying off.

5. Race: Robot

6. Religion and/or Nationality: None/Pluto

7. Place in Community: Regular working robot with potential to lead groups well.

8. Political affiliations: None.

9. Amusements/Hobbies: When Goliath isn’t working to save Pluto or in Prison, he cooks for The Warden and prepares his home life. He is able to perform Feng Shui and all sorts of decorative home designs. He is a brilliant cook and is learning how to cook Earth cuisine. He spends many hours devoted to simply downloading and learning whatever he can. He’s also a decent Tetris player and sees it as training his reflexes.

10. Time Period/Era: Goliath is a person from 2XXX a world where robots are not uncommon and are the norm.

PSYCHOLOGY

1. Moral Standards: Goliath will lie if asked and will tell the truth if told to. He mostly accepts orders from his Warden and do as asked if he accepts the orders. He will stop fights and disruptions as part of his programming for Prison life. His goal is to stop the destruction of his planet, so in that sense he is a protector of the people. He does not go to Earth to save Earthfolk, he goes to Earth to save Plutofolk and will most definitely kill Earthfolk if they interrupt his mission of saving Plutofolk. Innocent Plutofolk are his main priority.

2. Personal Premise/Ambition: Robots don’t get much room for ambition, but he does have a few true goals to live up to. First he needs to track down The Convict and dispatch him. Secondly, he must reinstate Pluto back to planet status, return to Pluto, and go back to work until he is no longer needed.

3. Frustrations: If robots feel frustration, Goliath’s would be disobedience to his mission. Anyone stopping him from progress is generally frustrating.

4. Temperament: Task-oriented, Goliath doesn't accept religion or any beliefs that are not sustained by facts. Goliath has a sense of peacekeeping from his programming and keeps that to heart.

5. Attitude toward Life: Sacrificial. If he wants to save his world, he may have to give up his life. In a way, it is sort of communist in that he must work towards the betterment of the people. His life isn’t valuable to him, but he knows he is needed to help protect and will not give himself up freely.

6. Complexes: Goliath is mission obsessed, almost to the point of sacrificing others for the mission and task at hand.

7. Extrovert? Introvert? Ambivert? Introverted. He has little time to deal with others.

8. Abilities: Goliath can learn languages in a relatively short amount of time. He can utilize a large laser to force out of his chest and destroy anything in its path. He is a powerful swordsman, although his weapon is sort of unconventional. His jumping and resistance is at a level above average. He can do things ordinary folks can’t, physically and mentally. His memory and knowledge banks hold enough information to give him a proficiency in whatever subject is needed. He also has a protection against quandries and any questions that usually make robots' heads explode since the question is all contradictory.

9. Qualities: Goliath will never lighten the truth. He is honest and while that may not be the best thing every time, he will always tell people the truth without softening it. He will never back down from what he knows to be fact and what he believes to be true.

10. IQ: Unknown, but it could be estimated he is able to learn anything required at hand. 200 and beyond, depending on how much he learns.

11. Time Period/Era: In a sense, Goliath extends to the beginning of mankind and the far future of mankind. He can learn anything relating to the universe so long as he can read or download it, but he is severely lacking in anything that makes humans human, such as personality or emotion.

New here? / Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF
« on: Oct 16, 2006, 10:16 PM »
Salutations, RoflQu coming in loud.

Well, to start,  I'm a Senior of High School. I was introduced to this site by a friend  and I lurked and simply read the material everyone put on my plate. I wanted to prepare myself for this site on my own and progress my art in solo manner. I realized recently that if I truly want to progress my art, I need to join this site and receive brutal criticism that will tell me where I suck and where I don't. I have a good idea where my challenges are and where my strengths lie and I'm ready to take on what I can.

If I'm ever needed, you can find me at RoflQu@gmail.com and RoflQu on AIM.
