Title: The places of Void
Post by: Disasterpiece on May 01, 2006, 05:14 AM
Okay.... People got into to this idea I made about giving all a few guidelines on how specific buildings and places in Void may look like, just enough for getting a picture.... In here I will print all the entries making it easier for all of ya who need guidelines... Hoping more people will add their places.... You can submit your places here or PM me..... Questions about the places goes to their rightful owners.

Devil's Pantry
A large contingency of immigrants, mostly Irish and Scottish. Local economy comprises almost entirely of sex drugs and rock n' roll. There are multiple bars, strip bars, strip clubs, clubs, and hookers on this street. Home of the Bang Bang Club (A brothel with confetti windows, see Cog intro pages) and Davey Jones' Locker (A pirate gay bar owned by Queer Beard the pirate, see Cog vs. Borris Jackknife) the street itself tends to be often free of cars and the homeless, but with plenty of women of ill morals and the drunk. Stretched between the buildings are lines of lightbulbs (not Christmas lights, regular sized lightbulbs) and on the higher levels clotheslines. The area is controlled by a gang of well dressed assassins and is completly free of any mystical interference from the Pennyroyal Circus on its border. (Wolfboy Jack)

The Exiles HQ:

An abandoned apartment complex in the slums of VOID. From the outside it looks as an abandoned apartment should—however, certain spots have been renovated by Draco’s research team so that the building can serve as an HQ. Specifically:

-There is a hidden camera near the front door, and someone monitoring the entrance unlocks the door when an Exiles member draws near.
-Several walls have been taken down on one of the floors to create a large room for a gymnasium, which comes with various sparring and training equipment.
-Several walls have been taken down on one of the floors to create a meeting room, which is outfitted with a projector to display pertinent mission information.
-One of the rooms has been outfitted with a small computer network for the purpose of storing databases.
-The rooms in the uppermost floors have been cleaned up to serve as quarters for the Exiles members who need them.
-Since electricity is no longer provided to the building by the city, a generator has been installed to provide power. (Graphyte Ronin)

The Grogge Shoppe (Kubo vs Kid & Kubo vs Zaff)

This is a little british pub that resides on one of the many semi-busy streets of Void City. It is owned by a very large middle-aged, scottish man, the bartender is 20 year old swetish punk girl named Kiwi, and the bouncer is her father Sven. The first floor has a bar and a dozen round tables. The second for has four studio apartments, one is the owner's, one is being rented out by Kiwi and her father, the other is rented out by Kubo, and the last one is vacant. It is a Pro-furrie astablishment where anyone is welcome.  Kubo

the grief garden

asian inspired gardens, with two large lily ponds, flowers of varied orgins but most vibraent colors, and a very rare collection of lotus flowers that stay in bloom.
the caretaker of this place never seen, some say its one of the flowers that watches over the others. in this garden one may experiance an overwelming sense of grief on occasion for no apparent reason. it is discouraged to pluck any of them or to litter or trample off the path... as those who do are never seen again. read the warning signs prior to entering. also from morning to noon, enjoy green tea in the tea house in the center of the gardens. painters are often seen in these gardens, as are photographers. fighting is usualy NOT permitted in the gardens. its most likely if you do provoke a fight there, the flowers will ask for some special assistance. you were warned.  QTRNevermore

Sol's Dojo
Owned by Sol, kept by Grod*.

Sol's dojo is 2 stories plus a basement.

1st floor is the dojo itself with an integrated gym. The walls have a few sparring weapons on them but mostly have mirrors and scrolls. There is capacity for up to 80 students all over the first floor(gym/dojo). The Shaolin styles that Sol teaches at the dojo are: Northern Praying Mantis, Wing Chun, Black Crane, Black Tiger, Dragon, Snake, Leopard, Southern Praying Mantis, Tiger, and White Crane. Sol's own style however is Black Dragon, but he doesn't teach it because it can be deadly.

2nd floor is the sign-up office and Sol's quarters, where he sleeps, showers, meditates, etc. There's also a room where Sol keeps many of his artifacts, books, scrolls and journals from his travels. The book Sol carries on his back isn't the only of its kind. He has journals from when in Tibet, England, Japan, Brazil and Hong Kong.

Basement is full of supplies to keep, clean and adorn the dojo(mops, extra weights, weapons, extra gis, etc.). There is also a room where Grod sleeps.

The building walls are reinforced with titanium plates and glass is laced with a dense teflon coating for incase things get a bit out of control the builing won't be so vulnerable.

*See Sol intro pages for info on Grod.
Note: See intro pages for dojo building.   Rax

Void Cemetary
not owned by Estrella but it is the fast way to getting to the underworld that way. its kinda like a gateway... the place looks dead... hahahaha.. the place is always in grey no colors at all//well except for the color red.. only color to show up.... the place is colorless
and depressing.(Ponbiki)

The M&J Video Corporate HQ:
A grand skyscraper with 67 floors. The building serves as a home base for the entire oprations of M&J Video, so on the upper floors have stages for film sets and photoshoots. For some reason, there is no helipad on the roof. The building is eqqipped with an underground railway system that leads directly to the Underground Research Facility.

Veronica Nightingale's office is on the top floor. It's very large but very plain. A burgundy carpet with the M&J logo leads from the double doorway to her desk.. Supposedly, she keeps some Champagne in a cabinet somewhere.

The M&J Underground Void Research Facility: The underground research facility may be underground, but it is not directly underneath Void City. It's about 200 miles east of the city, built somewhere in the side of a cliff. This is home to Professor Shiratori, who doesnt get out much. Inside holds a variety of facilities, such as the Robo-Daku assembly line, Robo-Daku launchpad, weapon testing grounds (which looks more like the Danger Room), a hologram room for recreation, internal power generators, an open warehouse for new product construction, Shiratori's private labs, Veronica's VIP Guest Room (which she has never returned to), and various other minor facilities for the workers living underground. (Kura X)

P2's club
P2's club consist of 5 floors, first one when walking in is the lobby,1floor under is the dance floor aka party room ..good example is how mamarou did it in his mize vs moo fight.
1st floor is the strip club where u will find a bar, tables booths and vip areas with many seperate pole areas and one massive stage for bigger acts, behind the scenes on this floor will also have the girls dressing room including bathrooms with shower heads.
2nd floor is the resturant which i believe is ran by head chef mal (moo's teacher) if i'm wrong then someone correct me. think beverly hills high and classy like resturant with reservation only appeal, dim lite and there is a piano player playing all the latest melodies. behind the scenes is the kitchen, meat locker, locker room for cooks and bus boys and a laundry room which has a janitor closet.
3rd floor is where all the offices will be , p2's and tobias' included. P2's office will be normal like any other office of a manager with a simple love seat couch, recliner, desk, bookcase and some pictures hanging on the wall. Tobias' office is more meant to seduce with his been bags , belt in floor jacuzzi , mini bar laid out futon.

Little things you should know about the club.
each floor is equiped with power snuffers..the minute you set foot into the building , your powers and abilities are shut off....all you can use is good o swing and kick.
There a few memebers of the staff who aren't affected by the snuffers...P2 being the most obvious.

Pennyroyal Circus (See Cog vs. Whoa)
An area of the condemned district with a medieval mediterranean feel to it, it was once a popular place for magicians and retired circus performers to live, and the buildings all have a very slight occult feel to them. The area itself was destroyed in a massive magical tear in existance that crumbled many of the buildings and killed all of the inhabitants, that same tear also caused the area to have some fairly strange circumstances, for instance the buildings and streets have a habit of moving when one isn't looking, anomolies that otherwise wouldn't exist (ie giant french bread monsters) show up on occasion, and a variety of other such events. (Wolfboy Jack)

Rainbow Bread institute. (See AgentBlack vs. Danielle)

An all around academic society that covers all levels of education from pre-conception all the way up to college level practices. A pseudo gated community that started out as a public school in the slums of void where the highest concentration of Supernaturally afflicted individuals were situated. What resulted was a new experimental community, scientific, progressive, objective, openminded, and privately funded to prove one ultimate point. "All the colors of universe, can be seen in one place, shining brightly" and to add in a scribbled subscript: "not sodomizing each other...please"

Academic minds of different practices travel world wide to set up camp in this new frontier of an integrated world of sentient machines, child geniuses, pan-dimensional beings, anime stereotypes, entities of the occult, the divine and the surreal. To gain a radical step-ahead into the new age that, only a few years prior, struck fear and repugnance in the heart of average citizens (Monday)

Rothbart Mental Institute
Thus far funded by Johnny Warshaw

Voids premere Asylum and home to the Director, Dr Clemencaux

The asylum is catered for voids residents having re-enforced cells and armoured guards on duty 24 7

Its a grand old building (think like a medievil castle esque place that always seems to be surrounded by darkness) adorned with gargoils and high windows and a huge entrance

Technologies featured so far in the institute are the Hercules jacket, a re enforced straight jacket that is lined with hypoermic needles, attatched to the back are 2 large pipes that keep tranqueliser flowing into the needles thereby keeping even the most powerful of heros docile.

Im sure more twisted inventions will be coming out of the institue given their special labs hidden in the basements and rumours of horrific tests on inmates

As for Clemencaux- Hes a-moral, only striving for what he wants. He cares little for others thinking nothing of administering horrific experiments to further his twisted knowledge. He is the owner of one of the voodoo masks, Bridgette, loa of death and wife to baron samedi. She gives him the unusual power to control his bones making him very difficult to kill.

He has scraggly hair and wears large round glases that mask his eyes, he is never seen without a labcoat and tie and always has the look of a haggered scientist (Kure Ji Ori)

Underground Slime City:

About the size of a large city, it is mostly composed of metallic buildings and streets that were uncovered from layers of rock and soil. Much of the city is still unearthed. It is located a few miles below Void's subway system and even goes under some of the more watery regions on the surface. With numerous supports in place, the risk of a sinkhole forming is minimal. The general population seems to be around 65% slime monsters, 25% mole people, and 10% other. The city is considered part of the surface country, but has its own mayor and town government apart from Void City. So far, the only known passage way between Void and Slime City is a strange looking overpowered elevator that goes from downtown Slime City to an alleyway in Void's port district. Because of the limited access between the two cities, interaction between the populations is limited at best.

VCU
Might as well put in VCU, no? The admin building is that tall, spikey-headed tower that I have in Ancelin's intro. Basically it's just a big University in the middly of VOID somewhere. Huge walls 'n' crap keep some of the troublemakers out (and others in), and the buildings are a collection of styles ranging from the Old Gothic look to a modern, bars-n-lights vibe. The main building is round, 22 stories high (I think; I can check later) with a double-height (2 stories in one basically) main floor which is the original building, and is thus gothic in design. From that sprouts the shiny modern floors with glass windows and lights setting the mood. At the top is a sattelite dish and four horn-looking structures for decoration.

The inside is up for grabs. The Amazing Bobo

Void Arcade:
Owned by two sisters they have been running it for two years.

A small building with two floors of gamer paradise. Throughout the two floors contains a large selection of high tech games, organized by their genre's. The dancing games in particular can be seen in the front of the first floor to entice other games to venture in.

If there is a case when a gamer is hogging a game a bit much, the owners or one of the employees will challenge the gamer. Should the gamer lose, they have to give up playing the game for the rest of the day and just move on. Its a system people agree on once entering the arcade.

Epo is currently the only employee there working full time.
Dj Neko

Void weapons shop-
located a good 15 blocks from the devils pantry. a front for a man named Johnny Gord's (no one steal that name, please, i have things planned for the future) mafiya/mob. he uses a weapons shop for obvious reasons. the building is small, but is rumored to have elaborate tunnel systems underneath, linking in and out through the sewers and waterways. no one is sure, for no one has come out alive. the point is to depict it the way to you want to depict it, having everyone draw it the same way takes away the freedom of drawing Void City the way they want to.  Think of a building as a character, different artists portray different characters the way they want so it should be the same for buildings.  How about, instead of writing out EXACTLY what it looks like, just put a guidline to how the place is supposed to look.  For example

The M&J Video Corporate HQ: A grand skyscraper with 67 floors.  Veronica Nightingale's office is on the top floor.  The building serves as a home base for the entire oprations of M&J Video, so on the upper floors have stages for film sets and photoshoots.  For some reason, there is no helipad on the roof.

You point out the important parts of the building, but dont lay it out exactly so you still have the freedom of designing the building yourself.

Hmmm...maybe this should be a thread where we post descriptions of locations we've created for the sake of others who may want to use them? For instance it'd be real helpful to know what James' hospital room looked like...

That was kinda what I meant...... Having guidelines and stuff..... But thanks for making it easier to understand for others to read  ^_^

This is where Cog and his crew of well dressed assassins operate from as it borders on the Devil's Pantry...suppose I'll just do a description of that too...

Description:
A massive campus encrusted with all too variant building styles new and old that is mostly dominated with ergonomic and organic tones. Students usually stay at the old dormitories constructed at the turn of the century and is usually kept away from being exposed to a setting dominated with plaster and synthetic walling. This should not however indicate the lack of technological conviences for there are domesticated and effecient frames of them all throughout the campus where they are welcomed. Usually not around the generations-old practices that dominated lifestyles in the dark ages. Even the security is mandated by the practitioners themselves to stimulate a territorial setting.

Classes and other anatomies of the school usually share the same circular quality to them as it is their main design motif that everything be well rounded.  Hallways, roads, and streets have a circular quality to them. While it took some getting used to, and a bit of intuitive thinking, the mathematical system of circular paths actually allowed the more veteran residents (especially the delivery personnel) an easier way to manage their time, and get to deceptively distant places even faster . "There are no such thing as detours. Only the paths you take."

more to come.

The inside is up for grabs.

the grief garden

asian inspired gardens, with two large lily ponds, flowers of varied orgins but most vibraent colors, and a very rare collection of lotus flowers that stay in bloom.
the caretaker of this place never seen, some say its one of the flowers that watches over the others. in this garden one may experiance an overwelming sense of grief on occasion for no apparent reason.  it is discouraged to pluck any of them or to litter or trample off the path... as those who do are never seen again.  read the warning signs prior to entering.  also from morning to noon, enjoy green tea in the tea house in the center of the gardens.  painters are often seen in these gardens, as are photographers.  fighting is usualy NOT permitted in the gardens. its most likely if you do provoke a fight there, the flowers will ask for some special assistance. you were warned.

S.S. Overkill: Some bizzare Battleship owned by the Cock Rockers. It has the capability to also launch jets and planes of all sorts. Randomly seen. It's also hard to find if you're looking for it it seems.

Museum of Artistic Concepts: A bizzare art museum where art concepts are on display. Entering the display puts you in the style. Discordant styles like Cubism are difficult to escape sometimes. The doors look like flat paintings from the exterior.

SHOCK CITY: A freakish neighboring city to Void. It almost makes little to no sense. It is a mile wide and about 100 miles long. It is set up like this so they can have Motorcycle/Monster Truck/ Shark races. The police foces is Vikings on Clydesdales. Every hour on the hour, the clocktower chimes hard rock and a monster truck ramps out of it followed by explosions. The city is totally badass. It's also considered the sibling town of void. Often even mentioning the name of the city can cause a mass wailing of electric guitars followed by some explosion. Usually, if you aren't born or raised in the town, navigation is very difficult.

Shakes head at Kellindel*

Anyways I need to cover some ground here so people can have something to reference in my old comics:

Moonshine Park (Agent Black vs. Cirrus): A sub domain in the Ether, where souls communicate with agents of the living while in an unconcious and lucid state. Namely, Moonshine Park is a dimension decorated with contradictions and amusing irony. Examples being- a rainy sunny day where the dryest spot is the bench NOT under a tree. THis place is by no means a battle ground (seeing as how the concept of battle is LOST in a sea of contrapositive concepts) as much as it is a shaky bridge for the dead to contact with the living or for the living to haplessly stumble in such a place when they themselves are faced in a near death situation.

Demons and Divine agents can also be seen in this tiny squeeze of a neutral territory as an act of faith, accomplishing small talk and feeding the pigeons with an assortment of multi-grain wafers and human organs.

Mr. Cogg's Fighter Outfitters Void Base One. (The floating fortress in Mechanic vs Phase)

The base of operations for the Void branch of Mr. Cogg's is basically a flying city.  It houses everything from scientists, aircraft, weapon systems, families, and even a garrison of soldiers.  It has state of the art facilities and is completely self contained.  Its  Internal Ionic Stabilation Core keeps the station powered and in the air.  The expansive aircraft hanger houses over 300 aircraft, ranging from historical to experimental.  The factory endlessly produces the products for all of Void to enjoy and the R&D team is constantly steal...er thinking up new ideas every day.

Mr. Cogg has a fleet of these floating bases though Void Base One is the largest and most advanced of the seven.  Anchored over 10,000 feet in the air, the only public access to the base is through a teleporting invitation usually given by one of the Special Operatives of Fighter Outfitters.  Attempts at flying (with or without the assistance of an aircraft) will result in the termination of said attempter.  Sorry.

The full catalogue is available on touch screen in the Customer Service waiting room and the staff is always friendly and ready to help.  To contact a member of the S.O. team, simply leave your blood sample in any of the marked Cogg DNA Collection sites.  If you are deemed worthy an associate will assist you immediately.

Since I'll be using it a lot, I might as well toss out my coffee shop for everyone to use (hope it's still okay to add to this thread...).

City Grind Coffee: Catering to all of Void's caffeine adicts. A single story building, the interior walls are concrete painted bright green. This is no ordinary coffee shop, as their menu isn't limited to popular drinks and seasonal favorites. The staff can whip up just about anything their customers can think of, coffee-based or not. From elaborate, exotic concoctions, to straight black coffee. But it can sometimes cost a little extra to get the staff to make something out of the ordinary. Even more if trying to order from the shop's main coffee jockey, Crawford.

I kinda made a place for my upcomming battle and might as well give you the info

GRUNGE BURGER: One of the very few places in void city that will serve any race, lifeform, fighter, or whatever the hell you may be! With at least a good handful found throughout the city of void, it makes a tidy profit by being one of the few places that will serve an anthromorphic citizen. However, due to this policy, many Grunge Burger locations are often vandalised or attacked by radical groups or often used by the VCPD to corner unsuspecting victims in illegal raids and arrests.

Despite the lack-luster name, the food is surprizingly well prepaired, and since they serve many species or things in the city you'd be surprized at what's on the menu. The Grunge Burger's motto: Shitty name, Great Food!

Void Dead Districts

Recently the growth of Void City has been halted as the VCPD's power continues to escalate. Before though, Void was ever growing and ever changing. This was due to the ridiculously insane amounts of crime occurring within the center of the mega-city. That forced the residents to move towards the outer perimeters of Void City to escape the gangs and try their best to live as peaceful lives as possible. This left behind a dead skeleton husk in the center areas of void complimented with absolute silence and unbearable isolation. Only the refuse and sin of Void is left behind in these dead towns, making it a haven for monsters and fugitives. Rarely do these Dead Districts become resuscitated for the benefit of the living.

Void City Evac Post
(http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/2427/vcepfinishzt2.jpg)
Void has always been used to violence, but when the city entered in awe after Koji's assault, manacing the whole population, this evacuation place was designed and built in the city's undergound.
The place welcomes people generally when some kind of calamity is going on in Void streets, most notably Armageddon, Battle Royale and King of Monsters, more recently.
At times in which peace can be found, the place works as some kind of home to those without one, most notably to criminals. It's also the place you might not want to walk carrying your wallet!
The VCEP are composed of many halls, and people who live in it generally will have to lay on the ground, as there are no rooms. It has safe place enough to one tenth of Void City's total estimated population. There are several means to get to there, being the most popular, the subway, and more pratical, stairs. The stations inside it have a lock door system in case of earthquakes and natural disasters...or giant pink serpents!

Under-city of Kevo:
Located beneath void, nearest openings located in graveyard, and in a park where an underground volcano active was spotted many months ago.  This is below subway systems and evacs, but not to pits of hell.  Earth quakes have been reported occasionally, but everyone's too preoccupied with Giant Monsters, to wonder wants going on beneath the city itself.  An active volcano oozes out lava, surrounding this strangle castle.  It is home to the fallen king. Behind its doors, two gargoyles keep watch for any living unwelcome guests.  There is a dungeon within as well.  The ghosts of the many dead of the city haunt the area.  Enter at your own risk.

For visuals, stay tuned for the athos vs pye battle.

Where exactly are the factories? Is it at the center surounded by the Dead Districts? or outside forming a slums ring at the borders? I would really like to know :3 and if it's not invented yet, can I just come out with something and use it?

if it's not canon in plot you can shape it however you want.

that goes the same for the city's placement and anatomy. we kinda keep amorphic but ambiguous like Springfield where we know its there (ie. Moe's Bar, Springfield Elementary) but not exactly where ; the only exception is Ned Flanders who is a next door neighbor (and yet this is the only next door neighbor we see of aside Gerald Ford and George Bush Snr.)

ok it looks like this hasn't been updated since 2007, but i've been clicking around alot to find some definitive info. I've gotten some. And i get-- and like-- the idea of making VC whatever you want and that cameos of others characters are cool, but with all of the disasters it seems this page should be update. I've asked question before in other areas a while back but never got responses, i'll try again here but assume if there's no answer i'll make up whatever i want and use the character designs/story of others that may or may not be up to date. that's ok.
I'm not looking for long answers just a few words. i'm shooting the wad here.

Somewhere  on the site there's a set of stories where  1 to 3 big craters where made in the city.
what caused this? (quick answers like ie an earthquake or monsters or aliens or characters xyz did abc, are great..)
how many craters are there?
any known dangers there now? or was it filled?
there's at least one floating city is there only one?
Is that city(ies) very different from void? how so?
Is there communication travel or trade with the floating city?
does the city have a proper name or a slang names?

Is there a major river in/near void city?
Is there an Ocean or Sea next/near to void city?
Is there a desert/jungle/mountains/arctic wasteland near void city?

Is there anything about Void Prison and Jail(s?) that should be known? (ie Generally run by the inmates, super secure and strict etc..)

Are there any celebrities (film/tv/music/internet/activist/writers/artist/scientist) in town?
Is there a regular TV station or well known local TV personalities?

thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

You can choose not to follow any of the exsiting info, or you can read up comics.

--

Nevertheless, three craters + another one are from the last event, where Horizon launched parts of the city into the sky (Caelum City - three floating islands, read up Majikura's comics). The other one is from Hiemie dropping a ship from outer space like a goddamn meteor. Being dangerous or not, no one has made anything about it.

To get ideas what YOUR void looks like, read up comics.

The answer to all of your questions is "sure, why not?". Void has been located near lakes, near oceans, above cliffs, below cliffs, in the desert, in the jungle, in a sci-fi dystopian future, probably in Hell, whatever you need it to be. If you need it to be located thousands of miles under the sea in some sort of dome to draw your comic, thats fine too. If you need a certain location, boom, its there. Right now theres a sort of vague canon Wu-AT-AT mentioned of the meteor crater and Caelum in the sky but locations are irrelevant- basically wherever, whenever you need them to be.

Void city is constantly in flux. The newest thing that has been added has been the crater form the meteor, but you don't even have to use that if you don't want to. In my battle with Gray, I'm actually taking us OUTSIDE of the city, to a range of surrounding mountains.

It's always cool to use places other people have created, but you can go sick.
Title: Re: The places of Void

I personally always imagined Void as covering most of europe, so EVERYTHING would be near or inside it...

Even if you want to follow the whole Caelum and meteor thing,(which you don't ave to)  the stabilized aftermath and reconstruction/new infrastructure has barely been explored yet, so it's still up for whatever interpretation. (not that it isn't always, but there's definitely not even a semi-consensus on that.) I mean, some people took the money part of Hiemie's thing and bought the whole world, while I said it caused mad inflation and became useless, and a lot of people seem to just do business as usual... so while a good part of us accept the whole meteor thing, it's unclear what the consequences are.
If you really want to know all the details, read all the comics since Tag Team Tournament and make up your own interpretation of what the community as created.

http://entervoid.com/index.php?topic=11257.msg224372#msg224372 is a good quick understanding of the structure of void after meteor.

Not that it's TERRIBLY relevant at this point, but I did finally do a real design for Dan's Video store. As the story goes, Dan used his winnings from the Tag Team Tournament win back in the day to buy the space, deep in the bowels of Void City (and actually it is the very bottom most unit on the VERY tall building for wish Dan's apartment is actually at the top. That sentence was weird, I know. My vision of Void City is about as tall as it is wide, it goes on vertically far more than any existing present day city, so there are many support structures for a lot of the ritzier places closer to the surface. This store is built into one of those support structures at the very bottom. Almost no natural light ever makes it down that low in this part of town due to it actually being at ground level, hence all the fancy lighting, they need it all the time.

This location was revealed and shown in detail for the first time in the Void Anthology Volume 2. Dan hires a ghost who lived in the building to work for him, and after a few years, when Dan moves on, he leaves her in charge as the manager. Her name is Lily. Dan still owns the place, but he entrusted it to her to keep going as she saw fit, and as she was a movie lover, she had no problem with this.

It's a pretty small place, but has it's regular customers none the less, despite the internet age of streaming everything.

I figure I can add onto this, because why not.  In my comic versus Johnny Sweet at the end of last year, Cornelius was homeless and living in a homeless "city" called the Cardboard Canopy.  It's built out of scraps from wreckage after the meteor hit, using vacant damaged buildings as its base, and filled with people who lost mostly everything they had. Citizens expanded the Canopy through the alleys and constantly build it out, accepting anyone who needs a place to belong. http://entervoid.com/view.php?id=5117&side=1&iid=01

I haven't submitted a character or drawn any comics yet, but I do have a solid idea of what I would represent Void City as. I imagine the city as being built on a giant and deep crater partially surrounded by ocean. The city would be divided into three sections: the upper, lower and bayside districts. The upper district is located on the rim of the crater, and is higher in latitude than the rest of the city. This is where most of the suburban areas of the city are situated, and I imagine it would have a kinda San Francisco-esque vibe. The lower district includes the area of Void City located in the heart of the crater, and here is where the deep, dark and grimy heart of the city is. The bayside district has an amusement park by the sea and is well regulated by the Void City police. The skyline of Void City would show the upper district sprawling all across some really large hills, but also giant skyscrapers reaching out from the centre of the city and from the bottom of the crater's pit. The bayside area would just be some sparkly decoration at the city's rims.

Umm I realise I haven't actually talked about specific places! I hope my ideas are useful for other people who want to get an idea of the overall structure of Void City, though.

I haven't really thought about actual locations in the city, but I really hope to incorporate some of the stuff said in this thread - it's like getting the chance to play with another kid's toys haha.
