ASTRO SEAN- I am loving the way you are using this tournament to not only tell a compelling story, but mold the world of Void in an influential way that seems to be making waves- literally and figuratively! The concept you came up with, with how Harvey knew Shay is surprisingly heartfelt if not a little somber as we go from present to past an back again. I think the black and white for the flashbacks adds a perfect aesthetic touch too. Honestly dude, I don't know who or what has lit a fire under your rear to bring forth your A game, but you are bringing it in spades. I certainly hope you bring this momentum even further in this tournament. You'e so close! Go out with a bang- or a flooded wet bang, haha!

noiraa: hope to see you back here sooner rather than later!

astro sean: Like i said last match you're on the right track for continuous improvement. One thing you want to focus on is line variation, especially the flashbacks the lines could use as much love as the present day pages do, which even have some hatching in them

on to the finals!

@Astro- Fantastic work! This was an absolute joy to read!! I really like the use of blues and sepia tones to shift the environment a lot. I totally agree with Ishtar about your improvement!!
Really spectacular treatment of Shay too, thank you!!! I'm very intrigued about this part 2! (you planning for something outside of the tourney?  Lets chat about a collab sometime soon!)

@noiraa: Don't worry about it, hon! I hope everything gets better for ya!

@AstroSean: Dude this is so freaking good, man! It is amazing how your artwork has improved since round 1! I kinda agree with Petar about approaching darkness, it needs a bit more contrast! Otherwise, awesome work, man!

@Noiraa: It happens! Life comes first and all that jazz, no worries!

@Astrosean: I come here for a story about an exploding man and some burgers /and this is what you give me?/ But no, its pretty solid dude. Pacing's tight, interlacing backstories are nice and we're given a reason that Shay cares. But now, on to the crit! I'm noticing that almost every VOIDer has night scenes that're just a tad too dark. Honestly if you just go with nice cast shadows and a blue overlay on everything, youll pull off "Night time" without laying on "Darkness". And I see you're a fan of hatching-as-shading. That's not bad, but you oughta totally learn from the best if you're gonna attempt it. Look up how Klaus Janson does his inks and handles his shadows. Sure, it may look like un-applicable Big-Two stuff, but focus a bit more on the method than what it's applied on.

I really appreciate it guys! And thank you, Astro- I am really stoked to see your comic! Maybe in the future, when I'm feeling a bit better, Shay and Harvey can cross paths again!

noiraa: Hey Astro & Company I'm really really sorry but I won't be able to post up a comic this week. A LOT of IRL things have gone down this week, My grandma is in the ER, we were fostering and trying to re-home a stray cat, and I had a lot of issues with my anxiety.

I am super bummed with myself because I tried really hard for this, but I just couldn't get my artwork together this week.

Astro-I'm super sorry for not being able to bring something to the table I totally understand if you feel angry, but I wanted to at least be upfront with it. I really REALLY look forward to seeing what you post. And I'm going to wish you the best of luck in the finals!

Thank you to everyone for all your comments and critiques during these weeks, it was a really sweet welcome to Void, and I learned so so much. Hopefully you will have me and Shay in the future.

Noiraa, please don't feel like you to need to apologize to me. Sometimes life gets rough and can get in the way of deadlines. And trust me, I know how it feels to struggle with anxiety.

I am just stoked to get to draw Shay and involve her in Harvey's story! So don't sweat it, just get some rest and come back when you feel ready!
