So I'm sure most of you have seen already but there is an SDT happening right now. It's been 10 years since the first SDT in 2004 and I'm very appreciative to the artists who are participating in this event. The line up is as follows...

4:00am - Pockets
Jho - J.J.
Synje - Anthony Analog
SilverLimit - Bramble
Nakia - Butcher
Neens - Girl and Dog
Justarhymes - JPOP
Dan Dieckmann - The Lowman
Fel - Amp
Luniara - The Skinner
Galvo - Galvo2304
Diabolicol - Toku
Arpelayre - Night Blaze
Liostro - Pam Hamcakes
Knomer - Chico Colon
Sheldon - Charlie

Classic SDT with no theme. 3 page minimum and 5 page max. Let there be blood.

I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with! And OMG I'm totally having fanboy vapors over some of these vets who I haven't seen in action pretty much since I first joined! I expect nothing less than the best from ALL of you!

Also, MAD props to those of you who are using existing characters. Way to lay down your babies' lives for our entertainment eheheheh

GO FIGHT WIN!

If I could draw faster, I totally would have. Thankfully, it was not a requirement that was ever set. Still have a story to tell with Dan, and wanted to maybe try a few new things with this guy in this event. Got quite a challenge right off the bat, as I've never really been good at comedy, and I think Dawg has it down well.

Just coz your opponent is comedy doesn't mean you gotta be too, Daniel. Do what you do REALLY WELL AND WIN.

BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TAUGHT YOU EVERYTHING YOU RETAIN ABOUT DRAWING A COMIC BOOK, YOU MUST SURVIVE LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO EXACT MY 10 YEAR IN THE MAKING REVENGE ON YOUR SKINNY SALT EATING ASS.

SURVIVE THAT LONG. CAN YOU DO THAT MUCH BATDAN??

HONK HONK, DAN. HONK HONK.

Please can we just shit talk eachother now? thanks.

Well, Sheldon, I guess we're racing to stop Dan's heart first.  I have a long awaited revenge.  And for the sake of my own sanity, I can't let him beat me.

Good luck to you in this race, my Aussie friend.

...and I would have possibly used Haiden if Dan and Sho were in.  It would be worth the gamble, then.

HAHAHAHA!

WOW.

So I guess what really needs to happen is that I need to find a way to win... and you guys need to win as well... then face each OTHER in the next round, then the winner can take me in Round 3, if I last that long?

Sheldon, I hear that thinking about Revenge too often causes premature balding.

Just ask Diabolical. ;-)

So the tourney after this is "one vs all" where Dan has to battle every character on the site, right?

A note about the 5 page max rule

Use this as a guideline, this was brought up just so that some matches would be on equal footing since most the people in the SDT are pretty busy. I'm still keeping it under 5 pages and you should probably too because if you pull it off the pages will look pretty good but if you happen to go over the page limit no ones gonna yell at you.

The best thing is just to ask your opponent if there cool with you going balls to wall crazy if you want. This shit is to have fun above all else.

So almost all of us have made our comics 5 pages or less already. next round we should aim for the same thing but if you insist on doing more or doing a cover page along with your five, just make sure with your opponent.

I know, and your match won't be affected by this. I just know of one person who's pages might go over 5 and another person who's got 5 pages but really wants to do a cover page. The rule if thumb I would say to this is see if it's ok with your opponent.

Try to make it 5 max but if you end up with 6 I don't want that 6th page to be deleted or that person to get an F it anything crazy like that. I'm hearing from multiple places they don't like this 5 pg max and I just want this to be enjoyable so next round let's not have that limit if your opponent is ok with that.

yea really, gee whiz haha. no sympathy though, I don't know everyone in the SDT but everyone I do know (myself included) has a job and probably outside projects sooo if you don't have the time then I guess you shouldn't have done it :O BUT I GUESS THIS IS WHY SOME OF YOU MADE NEW CHARACTERS HUH? OH NO MY PRECIOUS FAKE BABY MIGHT GET A OWIE!! CHICKENSSS

No one said anything about not having time at all. My concern was over changing the rules after the event already started and most people (that I know of) have already drawn most of, if not all, of their first round battle. Just saying, if page count didn't matter, then those comics might ALL have been better, who knows. In any case, Round 2 probably just got even more interesting.

Heh, and it's easy to harp on people who made new characters, I guess. Some of the people who used existing characters haven't been on Void in years, and probably never would have used their character again otherwise, so it didn't matter to them one way or the other. Some people though still do frequent Void, and have stories either planned or ongoing.... so that wasn't necessarily an option.

....especially with this crazy roster and potential for swift death. :-)
