Hold it right there! We’re not through yet!

[float=right][/float]Summer fun cooling down? The start of school giving you chills? Have no fear, Void City isn’t packing it in and neither should you! Stick around and squeeze every last drop out of your lemons, summer’s not over until we say it’s over. At least until September 23, anyhow.

The long awaited Death Royale has come and gone, and what a whirlwind tour it was. It’s always a shame to see a few empty entries here and there, but you can be sure that didn’t stop the rest of our daring participants. Sixtem’s 46-page epic took the event by storm, emerging victorious after the week of voting. After ending up in second place twice for the Speed Death Tournament, he finally has a crown to call his very own. Congratulations, sir, you earned it!

The GN Club continues to go on strong with new comics by Mister Kent and Puddle, as well as another batch due out later this month. The brainchild of our very own Kuro, the GN Club exists to give monthly deadlines and a support system to artists interested in creating long-form, Void-independent comics. Whether for pitching or self-publishing, any artist is free to join at any time and get started. Just let Kuro know on the forum thread! Be sure to check out the archives for past entries by the likes of Monday, Orange, and plenty of others.

Congratulations go out to veteran Ponbiki for winning last month’s Monthly Artist Showcase with his absolutely bad ass shot of Galaxy Cow. His own character showcase is now up on the forums, the swordsman chef known only as Crack Pot. As always, email your art to Wei, you have until August 25 to get your entries in.

Having trouble getting comics done on time? Need a second set of eyes to fine tune your stories? Never fear, Angie is here! Out of the goodness of her heart, Angieness has decided to offer one-on-one help to anyone that asks in the new Angie Bootcamp. If you’re looking for a way to stay on task with regular check-ups and sound advice from a working professional, this might be just for you. Sign up on the forum thread and get ready to work!

Lastly, there’s a new episode of the Vcast now up. It’s okay, I guess, except for the weirdo guest they’ve got on. I’m sure they’ll find somebody better next time.
