I'll start off:

Gumshoe is on leave as police captain while he runs, and if he wins he will step down as captain to be mayor full time

I love that French is the second most spoken language in Void City. With Louise involved, it might quickly become the majority language hahah.

I think there's a platform for the large number of smaller communities/subcities within Void City to make sure they can keep their local pseudo-government intact rather than losing power to city government or police involvement.

Maybe no semi-attempted murder this year from the conman. He's done enough to look bad.

Hushed rumors have been spreading throughout the political climate that a certain alien race is looking to provide generous amounts of funding to any candidate with policies that would make the city and its resources more easily available to extraterrestrials (re: the greys specifically) for scientific study.
… alongside the simple request that should any illicit activity occur in regards to their research it be ignored and/ or pardoned entirely.

As this kind of foreign meddling is considered “highly illegal” by most democratic governments in the known universe, any and all dealings will be handled with extreme confidentiality.

(If anyone wants to use this narratively, your character now has a ton of cash for their campaign… and is also guilty of corruption! )

After some recent incidents Harlow has decided to reach out Void's alien community and get an assistant that can both help him with inventions and help if things ever get rough. Harlow found one and his name is Andrew and Harlow gave him some enhanced arms to help deal with any sticky situations.

Harlow also made to directly address the issue of his habit of breaking into places with Arena to make sure everything was all taken care of before the election
