Hipster Demons

Hipster Demons

Sooo, I thought it would be fun to finally have one of these threads :D I have so many character sheets and designs that I feel I should put them somewhere (I find it hard to update my DevArt)...

Yams n' Crans were originally meant for the Speed Death Tournament 2011, but decided to hold off on entering them. I'll get around to them someday.

Ever before Todd died, I always intended to properly introduce his sister someday.

Dipuc's ex-girlfriend was always a back-up plan, as well.

EDIT: As for the title, I have plenty of actual hipster demons to post later....

Some simple portraits for an online RP I run--they're kinda boring looking, but hopefully I'll zazz them up later!

A bugladiator named Myrmidon, I wanted to enter in the next SDT

Another new character I'm preparing:

AND YET ANOTHER:

Oh wow. I really love all three of those last character designs and it would be great to see at least one in action.

Thanks Joe! I have two Project GIGANTE pages drawn, and one for Gargonne :D So at least there's some progress!

I know this is a late reply, but I honestly only just read it. I haven't been very active on Void recently.
That sounds fun though, when will we see them, or are they already done!?! :D
Good luck with them either way.

UPDATE: Intro pages for Gargonne and Project GIGANTE are currently under construction!

Month of the Dead has made me nostalgic for my dead guys :(
Here is Thriller Miller's younger sibling and Todd Susser's bitchy cousin Sheena:

I'm going to have them as a team :)

The colours on this stuff looks really nice, I'm no expert on colour in any way, just it looks right to me.
There is something I've noticed about your stuff, its that none of your characters bodies ever look like they are pushing themselves or doing anything too strenuous. I'd love to see some in awkward positions just to see how you handle it, like doing the splits, jumping around a bit, dancing. Bit hardcore, like a ballet dancer in a mosh pit, now that would make a good character, I shotgun that! :D
I just think it would add a further element of life to them.

Also, just to say, with you chucking yourself at all this work, you're stuff just keeps getting better and better and the hard work is paying off!

My characters exist in the Leisure Dimension :p That's a good point, Joe--I'll definitely work on that in my next comics. I've been reading the last Sentai Tournament battles for inspiration!

I guarantee I will have at least one of my previous character designs submitted to Void in the Spring!

Here's some more:

One I'm saving for a Prettiest Princess Tourney:

I really really want a VOID board game, with chance cards in the form of battle types (1-on-1, Scarmatch, Deathmatch, Tag Team). And game tokens would be like in Monopoly. I'm thinking: TLBot, a Godopod, Flipwulf, a Flying Battleship, a Chainsaw, a Cat, a Juice Box, and a Skull. I'll probably think of more iconic Void items to add to the list!

That's so awesome! Cats are definitely the most important part of anything, especially of the loaf variety.

Oh man, I'd play a board game, but I'd be even more stoked for it to be like "Betrayal at House on the Hill", or even better; Arkham Horror.

Relevant: https://www.thegamecrafter.com/
It seems they don't print boards quite as large as a monopoly board, but still, pretty cool.
Now that would be a post for the craft thread. Void monopoly, complete with pewter figurines and custom chance cards.

That was indeed my ultimate goal to show off the project in the Craft thread when its further along ;D

Nice.

I really like how the board is a city seen from above, and that the "GO" is instead....yeah.
You mentioned cards in the other thread. Would they be used in this game or in the idea you had for a more Arkham like one?

One thing I really found grating about Monopoly was that there were so few types of chance cards. You pretty much got money or lost money, which could of course be the point in a game about capitalism.
The question being: will the "events" vary a lot, mixing people up to battle against each other and throwing wrenches into the progress here and there, or will it be more linear?

I'm not too sure--they might be for this one :D The card types I'd thought would be like "VS" where you do some sort of dice roll contest against another player, "TAGTEAM", where players team up (if there are at least 3), and so on...

This is all just mad tinkering:
As you move around the city...(the moving process is TBD)
- Everyone rolls a basic die for everything, modified by OBJECT cards you may find along the way (+1 or +2), or SKILL cards you can gain after every successful battle (probably a limit on how many of those you can have at once, like 3) Skill cards don't usually add to dice ratings, but have special features, like forcing your opponent to lose an OBJECT or redraw a BATTLE card (??? I don't know what these are yet)
- BATTLE cards have a specific Challenge Rating to beat. So maybe something like:

Half-assed example:
- PLAYER 1 (Using the TLBOT character token, with +2 from "Chainsaw" Object)
- On her turn, PLAYER 2 slaps down a BATTLE card on Player 1! This card, called "Wacky Races", has a Challenge Rating of 6.
- Player 1/TLBOT rolls the die, gets a lousy 1! Even with their chainsaw its only a frickin' 3!
- EXCEPT Player 1 has the "Last Ditch Effort" skill, which doubles your final result! She has a result of 6 now, and just barely beats the "Wacky Races" challenge. Or something. The "Last Ditch Effort" has been used up, and is discarded. Maybe Player 1 gets to draw another card from the Skill pile...
- What happens next is up in the air...

I want to play more board games for some ideas, but don't have the time at the moment. Maybe after comics!!
