I'd like to take a stab at this honestly. I remember how much it really helped me out to have people willing to talk to me outside of the chatroom and help me with my art, and I'd like to do the same for someone else.
How much time I have? I've got a full course load this semester, and I work on weekends, but I still have plenty of time to talk and such. I'm almost always able to be reached 24 hours a day via skype unless I'm either at my job over the weekend, or asleep. And even then I always try to respond on my breaks at work, and I check skype pretty much first thing in the morning.
How much work I'd expect from a trainee? I'm not about to be like "I WANT 3 HOURS A DAY NO EXCUSES" but I would like to know there's real effort going forth, you know? I understand being busy, so I'm not about to judge somebody for it, but I'd like to know they're willing to take the time to try to improve.
What I'd like to see? I'm okay with most beginner level people. What I really want to see, isn't that somebody is at a certain skill level, but more so that I can tell they are really trying and looking for ways to improve. Less about quality, more about passion to me. I figure if you have the passion, the quality will come in time, and I want to help with that.
My preferred method of communication? Skype. Like 200% skype. I've almost always got my phone on me, or am at my computer, so its one of the most reliable forms of keeping in touch I have, even more than text or actual phone calls, cause my service provider ain't the best, but between wifi and what not, I almost always have access to skype.
Any area I consider a specialty? I'd consider my best suits to be in things like composition and panel flow. While my text bubbles have been weak, I've always felt like I'm fairly good about keeping panels varied and interesting to look at, because I tend to take a more film style mindset to my comics, and I prioritize readability and panel flow over a lot of other things. Also backgrounds.
Amount of people I'd be willing to take on? One, maybe two at most. While I always make time to talk to people, and will always make sure I have time to talk to people I mentor if I do this, I am actually a busy dude, so if I had to do anymore than 2 people, and 2 is pushing it, I really don't feel like I'd be able to give the attention a person deserves.
