anyway I've been sick so I just coloured some doodles from last night. Hoping to feel a bit better tomorrow 'cause I've got overdue commissions for Fai and Bad to finish up still.

Trying to keep this rough stage of designing to be more simple in shapes and stuff. Just 'cause learning from the past, using heavy black shading can get really muddy/confusing. So I've been keeping the designs for this somewhat simple enough that I can fill in the extra detail with the heavy blacks and not interfere with the details of the characters. If that makes sense, this tylenol is kinda making it hard to write coherently lol.

Jam came about because originally I had in my mind the idea of a boom box related guy because I really love music. But when I went to go draw him I gave him a humanoid body and a little head and stuff with those speaker things being his shoulder...but then I was like "why does everyone need to be humanoid". That thought kinda stuck with me too 'cause I believe Mighty No.9 had that train of thought too I read on their kickstarter, and so it made me want to branch out. I'm making demon enemies - some are humanoid and some aren't. So I kinda just had fun with his design and I like it.

Killowatt is actually an older villain design that I've held on to now for a while throughout concepting this project. She first appeared here at the end of 2012:

So yeah I tweaked her to fit with the current style of the series and make the design a lot more fun with more personality.

That Christmas picture is really well done, I just to comment and say that I love how, in the chunks of black, you have the linework still there, in different colors. It looks really nice *_*
Normally I'm not a fan of the chunks of black, because I like being able to see the whole art and chunks of black take away from it, but in your Christmas picture, it enhances it and just makes it really nice.

I've also been working on a music album called Funeral. It's kinda a visual + audio project I am working on, a combo of rock music and videogames mashed into one. I have since dropped the "welcome to your" tagline because that was before the album became a super anime concept album lol.

I did a little bit of stuff for Destructoid.

It was all free work (yeah I know) but I like Jonathan Holmes, he's been a pretty rad guy to me all year. Kinda consider it more work for a friend than I do a client really.

Also been working on a concept music album for a while and I'm slowly getting near the end.

This project has pretty much been my pet project for a while now and I ran into some hardware issues in December which forced me to delay it (and for good reason in the end because now the album is sounding 100% more rad).

Anyway here is another demo track from the album. Its almost done, save for a final mix. It is called Destroyer.

And now for concepts for a very spur of the moment project that I am gonna start thumbing soon so I don't over think it and get stuck and then not do it. This first image I just drew like yesterday or something. I'm very happy with it...I haven't had something with any real energy in it for a bit and I had fun drawing it. I forgot to draw the little bandage on her torso tho haha.

Here are the concepts in the order I drew them from before I did the tourney (except the last image of Dick, I drew him tonight). They're all mostly not final. Making final refs for myself very soon.

I've been having fun with it.

Thanks dude. Before I went to school for 3D animation and Game Design (skills i never use because I suck at them) I almost went into Audio related stuff. I really like making music, but I decided its more of a hobby companion to make my art since I like to flip flop between to the two for projects.

Also thanks for liking Dick Poundsworth. I actually like the design myself.

And thanks jba, I don't have much in the way to teach other than I watch Dead Leaves, Redline, and now Kill La Kill pretty religiously to soak in the aesthetics.

I did an art stream yesterday and sketched these up, some of my better sketches as of late. I had fun doing these. I am really into this idea now 100% that I am actually having fun with art again.

I got sick pretty much this whole week, so I probably won't have this comic done in time for the tourney to start which really bums me out. Since I don't give a shit about putting it up for voting or not - here is the basic premise of my character's story for the SRT.

I do plan on finishing this but like I said, getting it done by Sunday night is probably impossible for me to attempt since I work tomorrow and that doesn't leave me with tons of time afterwards to get it where I want it quality wise.

So I drew a pic for the Capcom Fighting Tribute and got in!!

I have been sitting on this pic now for a while wanting to show it to people, and now I finally can. Getting in really means a lot to me as an artist and it's something I couldn't be happier that I made it into. It's pretty much the only good thing that has happened to me artistically in years so there is that too. People can get the book if they are at SDCC (or the retail version that comes out in September
