Fred's great misadventures in the land of pencils

Fred's great misadventures in the land of pencils

So like, when Wei told me to work my side heads, my reaction was  "what side heads?"
Turns out it was even worst than what Wei thought, since what looked like an horrible side head was actually a god-awful 3\4 back view wannabe.

Not very convincing in its role, now is it?  :-\
So I went out and tried to understand people's heads and made sketches

And now I have this

Any thoughts?

Also, this. Is it a sun? Is it a pizza? Perhaps it is both! 8D

I think you should do some more practice with those heads. You make it look very rounded when there's more definition that would be seen from that view you have it at currently. Keep on going, more practice!

that was supposed to be a 3/4 rear view?.......i wanna take back my accepting your character!

seriously it's good that you are working on this....still a little wonky....the eyes would have to be VERY faar apart on the face to show up to that degree....this looks like they are almost on the sides of her head

good progress...keep at it
-draw like you love it.... not like your mom told you to do it-

I thought you would.
I'm not exactly sure what I was doing there, actually... I think my fatigue delirium had started by that point of the comic.
Anyway, still working at it!

Did this as part of my quest for more sensful heads.
Using Lucy wasn't the brightest idea, considering her inhuman eyes, but whatever.

your shading needs work to define the untold definition in your coloured pic..
Get ready- pop it, let's go.

right idea...but yah you are prolly limiting the benefits by using that char and that style

try this....do the same sorta thing but with the guy in the image below and be as realistic as possible..try to create mulitple views based on the info given by the one view..don't skimp...spend some time and it will pay off for you

*sorry it's a little big

You need to work on your foreshortening. And when you don't shade & have a real premium on lines (say nothing to indicate the bridge of the nose) it starts to make things look unfinished.
Also on the turnaround animation, the eye essentially hops. In the back quarter view, as it spins, it goes from eye off to the side to suddenly smack dab in the middle, meaning you're missing something in between.

So, since I'm bored with the head problem already (I'll come back to it some day, those battles are never over...) I'll get to the next one.
As Roflqu and my animation teacher pointed out to me a few times, I cant keep consitant proportions to save my life.
So I'll try and make at least five quick drawings with that specific goal in mind, of Lucy and\or Mortimerr at least until the end of the voting of round one. Hopefully, I can get the proper builds that I want and keep them like I want.
There.

I really like your coloring and lines, I especially like the varies of body types I see here :]
Good job! You also seem to be good with colour, shading needs a little more practice, but that isn't overly hard.
But keep up the good work!
Sorry Harley Quin, but, Foes before Hoes...

eh, cheers Mrs!
I'll try.

Clara, some crazy girl.

Characters!

Disapointing dreams...

Stephane, some forgetful guy?
